ATF Response on Firing AR-15 Pistols from the Shoulder with SIG Sauer Pistol Brace
The SIG Sauer Pistol Stabilizing Brace has become a popular accessory for AR-15 pistols in the past year. The removable buffer tube attachment was originally developed for a disabled veteran to improve the ergonomics of the AR-15 platform.
Since the introduction of the pistol brace, many folks have questioned the legality and advisability of shouldering an AR-15 pistol with the brace attached. A recent letter from the Firearms Technology Branch of the ATF dated Mar. 5, 2014, may answer some of the questions floating around the firearms community.
The letter (below) addresses specific reasons why “[the ATF] have determined that firing a pistol from the shoulder would not cause the pistol to be reclassified as an SBR”.

At the Range: Executive Protection Tactics
Like it or not, we’re surrounded by deadly threats every day. Threats become even more common with executives, celebrities and high-value decision makers.
Professional security detail teams routinely practice their tactics to stay ahead of their opposition. While most folks won’t be part of an executive protection mission, many of the tactics practiced by security detail teams carry over into personal defense situations.
In this segment of Guns & Ammo TV on the Sportsman Channel, we travel to the SIG Sauer Academy to get an inside look at executive protection tactics.

Black & Tan: Glock 26 Gen 3 FDE
Baby Glocks have become one of the most common carry guns since their introduction in 1994—but this particular Stork delivery has more diaper-dandy swagger than the legendary Gerber Baby.
A Flat Dark Earth (FDE) frame makes this G26 Gen 3 the cutest baby on the Glock block, considering it resides among millions of traditional black-on-black clones.
2014 marks the third consecutive year Glock and Lispey’s teamed up to manufacture factory FDE frames for select models. Initial commercial manufacturing runs included only a small batch of FDE frames per year, but booming demand for the two-tone look is driving more consiste

The 240B machine gun was developed as a general purpose weapon system, and is currently in use by several branches of the US Armed Forces.
Manufactured by FN Herstal, the 240B is an air-cooled, belt-fed, gas operated system that fires 7.62x51mm rounds from an open bolt. The gun is capable of firing 950 rounds-per-minute, and features a quick-change barrel system for swapping out hardware during heavy strings of fire.
The 240B machine gun replaced the venerable M60 as our general purpose machine gun. Adaptable for many different objectives, the 240B can be mounted to a bipod, tripod, aircraft or vehicle.

Amazing America: Q&A With Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin lends her patriotic passion in hosting “Amazing America,” a new show on the Sportsman Channel. The show targets anyone interested in hunting, shooting and fishing and focuses on unique personalities and their activities.
When the show was conceived, the concept was to illustrate colorful people and places previously unknown to many. The common thread linking each episode is in the show’s title. The program celebrates and spotlights interesting Americans who, through their creativity or heroics, do incredible things.
Sarah was drawn to this opportunity because it was a show about America, and she’s politically incorrect, as she needs to be, when it comes to advocating for hunters and defenders of freedom. Ahead of the April 3rd premiere, she shared some time with

First Look: Walther CCP
Walther Arms is combining the styling and ergonomics we’ve become familiar with in their PP-series of pistols into a smaller, lighter package.
The new polymer frame Walther Concealed Carry Pistol (CCP) operates from a single-action, “Soft-Coil” gas-delayed blowback system. The pistol uses a small port in the barrel to harness gas from an ignited cartridge into a piston which delays the rearward motion of the slide—intended to reduce felt recoil and barrel rise.
The Walther CCP weighs 1.39-pounds (empty), has a 3.54-inch barrel and feeds from an 8-round, single-stack 9mm magazine.
Safety features include a manual thumb safety, internal firing pin block and a loaded chamber indicator.
G&A Perspectives: Is Hunting With Technology Cheating?
If Remington had surveyed potential customers about what features they wanted to see in future products, I don’t think anyone would have asked for a computerized rifle. Nevertheless, Remington teamed up with TrackingPoint and made the 2020 digital-optic system.
The more traditional shooting community doesn’t particularly care for the idea of pairing a computer with a rifle. The rub is that technology takes all of the guesswork out of determining where to aim, and with TrackingPoint’s own systems, the computer also fires the rifle. With this family of new rifles, the shooter will hit exactly where he intended, which seems like a good idea. Remington’s lat
