Tue, 05/26/2015 - 13:43

No matter how often you do it, backing up your pickup to connect with a boat trailer is no fun. Ford recognizes that and, for the 2016 F-150 they are going to offer a backup system that allows you to steer your trailer by turning a knob left or right to indicate direction while the truck controls its steering and limits vehicle speed.

PowerPro Maxcuatro

Tue, 05/26/2015 - 09:00

Okay, I’m going to say it right up front: I think the name Maxcuatro is a little funky. But when PowerPro comes out with a new line I’m paying attention, no matter what the heck they call it. I’ve loved PowerPro for years for its super-thin diameter and super-high strength, and whenever I fish with lures, I’m usually using this stuff. (Note: Lures = braid, and bait = monofilament. If you don’t believe me try both for yourself and see what happens; sticking with this formula, you’ll catch more fish. Period.)

“I was driving I-385 North in South Carolina when this snake crawled out from under the hood. I almost crapped!!!”

Video: Ravens Attack Bear Climbing Electric Tower to Eat Their Eggs

Tue, 05/19/2015 - 17:15

How far will one bear go for some scrambled eggs? If they’re hungry enough, they sky’s the limit—literally. This brave bear apparently decided to climb a massive electric tower just to pilfer some eggs from what appeared to be a raven’s nest. The encounter was photographed by Mossberg’s Director of Media Relations, Linda Powell, during a wood bison hunt in Alberta last week. Commenters who saw the pictures were initially skeptical, with many musing that the photos were just clever Photoshop trickery. Mossberg quickly dispelled those rumors with a video recording.

“Sorry to burst the conspiracy bubble….they’re real,” the gun maker wrote on Facebook.

PSA: Respect Binary Explosives – They Can and Will (Try To) Kill You (VIDEO)

Tue, 05/19/2015 - 17:14

I’ll admit it, I am completed enthralled with binary explosves like Tannerite. Having said that, I use them with extreme caution, typically on sanctioned ranges under good conditions at minimum safe distances. Those that do not heed the warnings risk life and limb.

FPSRussia’s infamous video is the most obvious reminder, but a new one cropped up a bit ago on a single rock being thrown at lethal velocity over 100 yards.

Video: Bobcat Squares Off with Coyote

Tue, 05/19/2015 - 10:48

In their respective niches, the bobcat and coyote are two of the most successful small predators in North America. Yet what happens when you put these two not-so-apex predators up against one another? A lucky bike rider managed to capture this rarely-seen confrontation on tape while at River Legacy Park in Arlington, Texas.

As you can see in the video, the bobcat quickly assumed the dominant role and slowly but surely pushed the coyote (and the biker) out of its way. This cat may be small, but as one commenter noted, “Bobcats have the heart of a lion.”

Hiker stumbles upon massive snake pit while hiking

Tue, 05/19/2015 - 10:44

For those of you who know our Editor in Chief, Chester Moore, you would know this is something he would absolutely love to stumble upon.  For the rest of us, the thought of coming across this many snakes in one place could be terrifying.

Check out this video that a Canadian hiker posted on Live Leak.  It seems to show the hiker come across a huge pit of Red Garter Snakes.  Instead of running for his life, the man decided to shove a camera into the pit and check it out.

Most snakes don’t usually gather in large numbers.  The Red Garter Snake, however, is an exception to this rule.  Often times they typically come together in large quantities during their mating season.

The video is awesome, check it out below:
