A fisherman spearing off the coast of Florida who was confronted by a great white shark has released footage of the terrifying moment, which he couldn’t help but catch on camera.

TEMPLE, Texas – A Texas Game Warden investigation sparked by social media posts on Facebook detailing the killing of an 11-foot alligator has resulted in the arrests of two Killeen men.

Bobcats aren’t like your average house cat. These felines are about 40 pounds of tense, coiled muscle with razor-sharp claws and an inclination to give your face an extreme makeover if you get too close. As this hunter found out the hard way, a bobcat only lets itself seen when it wants to be seen.

“Craziest dam [sic] thing I’ve ever seen turkey huntin for sure!” wrote Bobby Greathouse, who uploaded the video to his Facebook page. “I’m just glad I didn’t squeal like a little school girl.”

Who could say no to perch for lunch? Obviously not this garter snake, who tried its best to make a sneaky getaway after stealing a fish from one very enthusiastic angler-in-training.

“My son caught a little perch, reeled it up to the shore and as it flopped around, it unhooked itself. As soon as that happened, a garter snake comes out of nowhere and grabs it!” Wrote Cindy Kruller on YouTube. “My son started screaming about a snake stealing his fish, so I grabbed my camera and filmed the chase. The snake ended up dropping the fish and we were able to get it back in the water.”

A bill to approve year-round hunting season on wild hogs passed out of a House committee Wednesday.

The bill is authored by Monroe Representative Katrina Jackson.  Jackson says the feral hog issue is becoming more pervasive for northeast Louisiana farmers.

Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Robert Barham testified of the severity of the problem during the committee hearing.  “We have the second largest hog problem in the country.  You have to kill about 70 percent of them to remain static,” said Barham.

Jackson developed the legislation with Ouachita Parish District Attorney Jerry Jones. The measure now goes to the full House for consideration.

Looking much like a whale or dolphin tail, the DOL-fin monofin is designed for underwater speed demons and divers. It is an odd choice for spearfishermen, especially since it seems to come with a rather unique feature: it attracts dolphins.

Dolphins are highly inquisitive creatures and it doesn’t take much to capture their interest, but when this spearfisherman decided to hit the water with the strange fin on, the animals went wild.

Sharpshooter Kirsten Joy Weiss has just posted a new video — and it’s unlike any clip we have seen from her. This time she’s showing us how to “garden with a gun.”

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (AP) – Game wardens are investigating the killing of an 11-foot alligator along the Lampasas (lam-PA’-sis) River.

Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Lt. Billy Champlin said Thursday that two people who were fishing called an agency hotline to report they euthanized the gator.

Champlin says the callers said they were fishing for catfish with a drop line when the alligator got hung up on a hook, and they had to put the gator down. The callers Wednesday led a game warden to the carcass above Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir, near Harker Heights.

Champlin did not say how the alligator was killed. The carcass was retrieved as evidence.

Alligator hunters must be licensed, have the landowner’s permission and secure a tag purchased upon harvest of the animal. Alligator hunting season runs April through June.

These coyote trappers had quite an unexpected animal waiting for them.

A black bear indadvertedly got caught in these coyote hunter’s trap. That’s a slightly larger animal than this trapper family was expecting.

In 35 years as a fisherman, Jim Eastwood has only seen seven skilfish.

Brace yourselves for what appears to be a display of one of the most Australian things one can possibly do. After spotting a shark in some shallow water near the city of Mackay, the man in the video below apparently decided that the best possible thing he could do was trudge out toward it and manhandle it a bit.

We’d like to see him try the same with a great white.

Officials from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced on Monday that laboratory results have returned for a single smallmouth bass caught in the middle Susquehanna River late last year. The fish, which was harvested by an angler and eventually delivered to the PFBC, had a large and unsightly growth on its lower lip. Tests results confirmed it to be a malignant tumor, the first of its kind ever seen in the state.

AUSTIN – The Gulf of Mexico commercial shrimp season for both Texas and federal waters will close 30 minutes after sunset on May 15 until a still-to-be determined time in July.

Cody caught his 58 lb 8 oz blue cat March 10, which is a junior lake record for him at Tawakoni. This make a 3rd junior lake record in Texas for this young fisherman since 2011.
