Inside NBC News’ Inside Look at ‘Ghost Guns’ and the Laws They Broke in the Process

Sat, 03/26/2022 - 13:00

By Lee Williams

Our friends at Ammoland Shooting Sports News have done incredible work exposing the crimes – actual crimes – NBC correspondent Vaughn Hillyard and his crew committed while producing the liberal network’s latest hit-piece on homemade firearms. I was asked to take a look at the story from a different perspective. What I found was simply unbelievable – the worst news story focused on firearms ever produced for a network news program.

Gear Review: Clip & Carry STRAPT-TAC Belly Band Holster

Fri, 03/25/2022 - 16:00

Way back when, when I was a young buck who just starting to carrying a gun, I gave them all a shot. I tried every type of holster possible…or close to it. Belly bands were a brief experiment. The cheap one I had offered crappy retention, and even just wearing it around the house revealed major retention, concealment, and comfort issues.

After that, I moved on and never looked back. The STRAPT-TAC belly band is the first time I’ve come back to belly band carry.

Woman Shoots Ex-Boyfriend Who Was Holding a Gun to Her Current Boyfriend’s Head

Fri, 03/25/2022 - 14:00

You can’t beat a girl who shoots. Especially a momma bear with three young cubs. A big, bad wolf learned that the hard way after he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s Las Vegas residence in the dead of night. In the end, she ended the attack by shooting her ex dead right there as he held her new boyfriend hostage.

The woman accessed her gun and told the violent ex-lover to leave. He reluctantly did, only to return with his own gun and an unhealthy dose of rage.

Judge Jackson Affirms Right to Keep and Bear Arms During Confirmation Hearings…Sort Of

Fri, 03/25/2022 - 12:00

By Larry Keane

Anyone expecting Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing to be a firework show when it came to gun rights was disappointed. President Joe Biden’s nominee answered questions posed by probing U.S. senators, but some of those answers gave reason for pause.

Although Judge Jackson noted the U.S. Supreme Court in Heller affirmed the Second Amendment is an individual right, her full testimony was revealing. Judge Jackson demurred on questions surrounding concealed carry, spoke of the importance of Court precedent and refused to define her judicial philosophy.

NBC Reporter, PA AG Staffers Commit Felonies While Producing ‘Ghost Gun’ Hit Piece on JSD Supply [VIDEO]

Fri, 03/25/2022 - 10:00

Our friends at Ammoland have been on a story swirling around a “journalist” at NBC News and a hit piece the network ran on “ghost guns” and Pennsylvania-based JSD Supply. Step into the Wayback Machine for a moment and travel with us to last March when Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro — one of the most ardent anti-gun politicians in the nation — pressured gun show operator Eagle Arms to ban JSD from its shows in the state.

Feds Fight the Flow of Chinese Auto Sears Into the U.S.

Fri, 03/25/2022 - 08:00

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the federal agency responsible for policing guns in the U.S., said it seized 1,500 weapons modified with auto sears in 2021, a staggering increase over 2020, when only 300 were recovered.

“Auto sears are everywhere on the street right now,” said Jefferey Boshek, a 21-year ATF veteran who now serves as the special agent in charge of the Dallas Field Division. “They’re one of the scariest things we’ve dealt with since I became an agent.”

The ascent of the auto sear has been propelled by its availability and ease of use.

Gun Meme of the Day: Another Shot at KELTEC Edition

Thu, 03/24/2022 - 18:00

I dunno, I’d take up an RFB or RDB in that circumstance. I’ve shot ’em both relatively extensively, including an RFB to 800 yards in single-digit Wyoming weather, and they’re pretty capable.

Gear Review: Holosun AEMS Multi-Reticle Micro Red Dot Sight

Thu, 03/24/2022 - 16:00

Holosun has been making waves in the optics industry. The company went from producing simple red dots to producing affordable, but surprisingly durable mini red dots like the 507C and 509T and the class-leading 507K.

Their latest optic is the AEMS, representing a break from the standard Holosun optic. The AEMS represents not only a new naming convention for Holsoun, but really shows they can innovate.

Design and Features of the AEMS

AEMS standards for Advanced Enclosed Micro Sight, and that’s an apt description (other than maybe ‘micro’ which, to me, is reserved for pistol-sized sights.

The Spread of Constitutional Carry Has Dealt the Moms and Everytown Their Biggest ‘L’ Yet

Thu, 03/24/2022 - 14:00

A little over a year ago, I wrote about the amazing progress constitutional carry had made, though not without a number of failed efforts. The total at the time was 18 states, something that seemed unimaginable just a few years earlier. It wasn’t long ago that there were still fights to move no-issue states into the may-issue column, and may-issue states to shall-issue. No-issue is now ostensibly down to just a single state.

In other words, in the not-so-olden days, being able to carry, even with a permit, was a fight.

Anti-Gun, Anti-Hunting Academics Should Educate Themselves

Thu, 03/24/2022 - 12:00

By Mark Oliva

There was a time in America when universities taught young adults how to think, not what to think. Take an idea floated by two university professors who want to upend the funding firearm manufactures and importers pay for wildlife restoration and conservation. They want America to think because criminals misuse guns that the industry making them shouldn’t have a hand in wildlife conservation.

Two professors, John Cassellas Connors, Assistant Professor of Geography, Texas A&M University and Christopher Rhea, Assistant Professor of Public Affairs, The Ohio State University, propose this idea is essential because hunters are in decline and gun ownership is somehow immoral.

Academics and Anti-Gunners Can’t or Won’t Recognize That Violence Can Be Virtuous

Thu, 03/24/2022 - 08:00

In the acknowledgements [to Empire of Guns], the author, who’s a history professor at Stanford University writes, “Like everything I write, this book is for my children. In 2010 when Amman was four, she asked a Policeman who was sitting at our local taqueria why he had a gun. The policeman explained he had it to protect everyone from bad guys. And Amman bravely replied, ‘But if you have a gun, then you are a bad guy.'”

Now, I don’t know this author.

Gun Review: SIG SAUER P322 .22LR Rimfire Pistol

Wed, 03/23/2022 - 16:00

No, SIG SAUER’s new .22LR pistol — the P322 — is not a P320. But you’d be forgiven for mistaking it for one at first glance. When SIG set out to fill the rimfire hole in their handgun lineup, they didn’t decide to have another company build the new gun for them. Instead, unlike other entrants in the rimfire pistol space, SIG embarked on a 15-month effort to design and build the new P322 themselves.

Firm Helps Gun Dealers Fight Back Against Biden’s Weaponization of ATF in War on Gun Dealers

Wed, 03/23/2022 - 14:00

By Lee Williams

The Biden-Harris administration is not hiding their goal of eliminating as many gun dealers as possible. They recently ordered the ATF to start revoking Federal Firearm Licenses for even the most minor of paperwork issues. This level of weaponization is unprecedented, even for the ATF.

It’s clear that the administration mistakenly believes that if they reduce the number of gun dealers, they will reduce the number of guns.

New York City’s Eric Adams Teams Up With Chicago’s Lori Lightfoot In A Race To The Bottom

Wed, 03/23/2022 - 10:00

It’s generally considered well worthwhile to seek the advice of others with more experience when taking on a new job. By seeking the counsel of an accomplished, recognized authority in a particular field, you can avoid costly mistakes and benefit from the lessons others have already learned. That’s why it’s so baffling that New York City’s new Mayor Eric Adams chose to travel to Chicago to seek the “wisdom” of the Windy City’s Lori Lightfoot in how to deal with the Big Apple’s violent crime problem.

Washington State Cannabis Shop Regrets the Need For Armed Security

Tue, 03/22/2022 - 14:00

KING5 in Seattle reported on a pot shop that’s hired armed security following a pair of armed robberies in recent months. They must have found the only pot shop in America that didn’t already have a guard with a gun. Then again, many pot shops in Washington State advertise themselves as “no guns” locations for customers. They also (obviously) have recreational pharmaceuticals and, thanks to banking regulations, deal exclusively in cash, making them ideal targets for violent criminals.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Man Saved From Drowning Attacks Rescuers, Gets Shot Dead

Tue, 03/22/2022 - 12:00

Guardian angels in a pontoon boat rescued a couple who were thrown from a rogue Jet Ski on Lake Keowee in western South Carolina. As frequently happens, no good deed goes unpunished as the male half of the couple, already agitated at losing control of his personal watercraft, turned his aggression on the pontoon boat owners and assaulted them.

One thing led to another and, fearing for his life and that of his wife, the good Samaritan boat captain shot Nathan Morgan, 29, (not pictured above) once in the chest, killing him dead right there.
