Gun Review: Wilson Combat SFX9 4″ Solid Frame Compact Handgun

Tue, 01/04/2022 - 11:00

Almost five years ago Wilson Combat released the EDC-X9, a double stack 9mm designed from the ground up as the ultimate everyday carry pistol. To kick off 2022, they’ve one-upped themselves with the new Wilson Combat SFX9.

The major difference between the previous EDC-X9 reviewed here back in 2017 and the SFX9 is in the frame. The upper half of the gun is exactly the same as before, and that’s a very good thing.

While Americans Bought 18.5 Million Firearms in 2021, NICS Data Show Gun Sales Returning to ‘Normal’

Tue, 01/04/2022 - 09:00

The National Shooting Sports Foundation has toted up the adjusted background check numbers for December and we now have a full picture of 2021. That gives us a view of where the year stands in terms of Americans’ demand for firearms and where the demand for guns is probably heading. The numbers tell a couple of stories.

Just over 18.5 million guns were sold last year, making 2021 the second biggest gun-buying year ever, behind pandemic- and riot-riddled 2020.

Buying cryptocurrencies can be a major challenge, especially for Americans. I will explain some of the reasons why and help walk you through the process.

AML and KYC Laws

One of worst things, privacy wise, that came out of the last Bush Administration was the PATRIOT Act.

Smith & Wesson Cold-Launches the New CSX Micro-Compact 9mm Pistol

Mon, 01/03/2022 - 13:21

You know what they say, three men can keep a secret…just as long as two of them are dead. Smith & Wesson’s new CSX pistol has had a remarkably low-key release. The pistol first showed up on Reddit last week in the r/guns forum. Supposedly an employee at an FFL got his hands on one and posted a photo, but nuked the thread after people were trying to figure out which gun store he worked at.

Carless: Gun Shows and Support for 2A Rights Are Gateways to Right Wing Radicalization

Mon, 01/03/2022 - 08:00

The Atlanta Gun Show, held over a weekend in late September, had everything one might need for a coming apocalypse or civil war: flame throwers, hundreds of rifles, thousands of handguns and knives, body armor, survival kits, medical supplies.

Sprinkled among swords, boxes of sutures and night-vision goggles were the insignia of the modern extremist far-right: bright yellow patches for the Oath Keepers militia group, holsters and clothing engraved with the logo of the extremist Three Percenters.

ANOTHER BAIL REFORM VICTIM: Chicago Man Kills Rear Seat Passenger in His Own Car While Trying To Shoot Another Driver

Sun, 01/02/2022 - 13:00

Chicago resident Quincy Cole, 27, tried to shoot a 68-year-old man in another car at a stoplight by firing through his open rear passenger window. However, instead of hitting the old man, he killed a 19-year-old backseat passenger in his own car.

Roderick James took a round from Cole’s handgun. And unlike the guys from Pulp Fiction, Mr. Cole didn’t have didn’t have the benefit of Winston Wolf to clean up his problems.

Guns For Beginners: 3 Things To Consider When Buying Your First Hunting Rifle

Sun, 01/02/2022 - 10:00

Hunting is a heckuva lot of fun, and the results — savory game meat, unique memories, and new friendships — are worth their weight in bug spray and doe urine. But if you’re new to the sport of hunting, you may or may not have had a mentor to lead you into the right way of taking game animals, which includes shooting them humanely.

Shooting an animal, whether it’s small game such as rabbits and squirrels or medium to big game such as turkeys, javelina, whitetail, and mule deer, pronghorn sheep, and others, is an awesome responsibility.

Young: Gun-Toting Politicians Are the Kim Jong-Uns of American Politics

Sun, 01/02/2022 - 08:06

Around the country there is no shortage of elected gun nuts gun-nutting for the camera. Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Rep. Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and many others have demonstrated an inability to resist the urge to strut with weapons.

What these extremists fail to grasp is how weak such posing makes them appear. People who are confident in their strength don’t need to peacock.

How Not to Get Scammed in Crypto

Sat, 01/01/2022 - 17:00

This is the third of a five-part series on cryptocurrencies as well as their uses benefits for the Second Amendment community. Read part one here. Part two is here.

By Rob McNealy

Many people stay away from crypto out of the fear of being scammed. That’s understandable, given the amount of crypto fear porn put out by the legacy media. The truth of the matter is, blockchains are very secure, as the encryption protocols that secure them are bank and military grade.

TTAG’s 5 Most Popular Posts of 2021

Sat, 01/01/2022 - 10:00

Sure, it’s a trite, hackneyed way to crank out some year-end content, but this is a holiday. Even those of us at TTAG, who work pretty much every day of the year, value some time off spent relaxing, eating some favorite foods, napping to some meaningless football games, and then watching our favorite hockey team freeze its collective azz off in Minnesota. So we’re not above cranking out a couple of listicles to fill the void.

Gun Review: Henry Single Shot Shotgun in 12 gauge

Fri, 12/31/2021 - 16:00

Although relatively inexpensive, I wouldn’t call the Henry Single Shot Shotgun a “budget gun.” The folks at Rice Lake, Wisconsin didn’t skimp. Leave it to Henry to make the best simple shotgun on the market today.

I’ve always been a fan of single shots, be they shotguns, rifles, or pistols. I still carry a single shot shotgun quite often when hunting for birds and rabbits. Since I got it earlier this year, the single shot shotgun I carry isn’t one of my H&Rs, a Savage 24, or my Winchester Model 37.

For the Gun Control Industry and Their Backers, 2021 Was a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Year

Fri, 12/31/2021 - 10:00

By Larry Keane

National groups began the year with the high hopes of further restricting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans. To them, it wasn’t about God-given rights enshrined in the Constitution or even about personal and community safety. To them it’s all about control.

But those hopes were decidedly dashed every step of the way throughout 2021 as law-abiding Americans fully embraced the Second Amendment, including millions who jumped off the fence and purchased a gun for the first time.

Everytown-Endorsed Washington State Dems Introduce Legislation To Reduce Penalties for Drive-By Murders

Thu, 12/30/2021 - 14:00

Clearly, we’re still in 2021 because you simply can’t make this stuff up. A pair of Washington State legislators, both endorsed by Everytown and Moms Demand Action, have introduced a bill to reduce the criminal penalties for murders committed in drive-by shootings. The legislators claim the bill will promote “racial equity in the criminal justice system.”

Eleventh District Rep. David Hackney and 23rd District Rep. (and convicted felon) Tarra Simmons introduced House Bill 1692 in the Washington Assembly.

USA Today ‘Extremism’ Beat: How Second Amendment Supporters Become Nazis (Allegedly)

Thu, 12/30/2021 - 12:00

By Lee Williams

USA Today’s “extremism” reporter Will Carless has extremists on the brain. He’s written about extremist cops, extremist podcasts, extremist militia groups, extremist videos, extremist Facebook groups and now, extremist gun show recruiters.

Before he joined Gannett’s flagship newspaper about a year ago, Carless was the extremist guy at the Center for Investigative reporting (CIR), a small nonprofit located in the San Francisco Bay area. While you may have never heard of CIR, but you’ve probably heard of their donors.
