Illinois Police Departments Refuse to Provide Help for Chicago as Vaccine Mandate

Fri, 10/22/2021 - 11:00

The chickens may be coming home to roost for Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx (D-Soros). With the anticipated termination of 4500 of almost 13000 sworn police officers in Chicago, officials have issued a plea to neighboring jurisdictions to send manpower.

About one-third of Chicago’s sworn officers have declined to submit their personal health information relating to the COVID vaccinations to the city by the deadline set by the hapless mayor and her corrupt regime.

TAP: High Ammunition Prices Are the Result of a Conspiracy By Monopolists…Or Something

Fri, 10/22/2021 - 09:00

DESPITE ALL THE ISSUES with the small arms market, there are steps that can be taken to help.

As in other industries, the Federal Trade Commission has been lax when it comes to enforcing antitrust regulations, so the FTC must get quicker on the draw. Further consolidation of the market should be stopped, but this does not unwind the last 50 years of mergers, which must be studied and potentially unwound.

Alec Baldwin Kills One Person, Wounds Another With a Prop Gun That ‘Misfired’ On a Movie Set

Fri, 10/22/2021 - 06:46

On the set of Alec Baldwin’s Western movie Rust, the volatile actor has reportedly killed a 42-year-old woman and wounded other person with a “prop” gun that was loaded “with blanks” “misfired.”

Personally, I’ve never seen a prop gun that could fire real ammunition.  Frankly, many of them don’t fire at all.  And others only fire blanks.  This keeps the paperwork down for the production staff and increases safety.  It also allows actors who are prohibited persons to legally handle these non-firearms on set.

Watch a Marine Vet Prevent an Armed Robbery With One Punch [VIDEO]

Thu, 10/21/2021 - 14:00

Early Wednesday morning, three individuals attempted to rob a Chevron convenience store in Yuma, Arizona. The first perp walked into the store wielding a gun. What he probably didn’t anticipate was a former Marine standing in line.

When the robber pointed his handgun, the customer deflected the gun with his left hand and punched him with a right cross to the the face. As the gunman fell to the ground, the second perp tripped while attempting to escape.

What Does Biden’s Proposal for IRS Monitoring of Bank Account Information Mean for Gun Owners?

Thu, 10/21/2021 - 11:30

There has been a significant amount of reporting on language tucked into the Biden Administration’s proposed $3.5 trillion dollar budget proposal that would purportedly require banks to report transactions in accounts with over $600 in annual activity to the IRS. Understandably, gun owners and those who want to exercise their Second Amendment protected rights were immediately concerned.

Does that mean the IRS would be notified of nearly every firearm purchased from a retailer?

Tucker: Gun Rights Should Limited Based on Modern Guns’ Increased Lethality

Thu, 10/21/2021 - 08:00

There is room for looking at the lethality of modern firearms when considering the constitutionality of gun regulation. The court implicitly acknowledged this in its Heller decision when it stated that machine gun bans were acceptable. It’s a difficult concession to explain unless the court is considering the modern capabilities of firearms outside of the historical scope of regulation.

The issue before the Court this fall concerns the conditions under which an individual can carry a firearm publicly on their person.

Personal Defense Tip: Don’t Turn Your Back on a Waffle House Waitress [VIDEO]

Wed, 10/20/2021 - 12:00

Waitresses deal with a lot of difficult customers, but things took a wild turn at a downtown Atlanta Waffle House earlier this week when a server allegedly pulled a gun on a complaining customer. According to customer Candy Franklin, a dispute over his breakfast order ended in “gun violence.”

“It all happened over cheese eggs. At first, they didn’t bring them to me. Then they brought me normal eggs and I said that I ordered eggs with cheese on it,” Franklin told FOX 13.

Oklahoma Acts to Attract More Firearm Businesses to the Sooner State

Wed, 10/20/2021 - 10:00

By Larry Keane

Oklahoma has its fair share of prime hunting. The most prized trophy for state lawmakers, though, might be getting their hands on firearm or ammunition companies.

Oklahoma legislators recently held a hearing to figure out what they might do to bring gun-related businesses to the Sooner State. It’s an interesting development as states are increasingly taking note of the value of firearm-related businesses.

Tennessee just landed Smith & Wesson for their new headquarters, manufacturing and warehousing.

To Gun Grabbers’ Horror, 2020 and 2021 Have Been the Perfect Storm of Arguments in Favor of Gun Rights

Wed, 10/20/2021 - 08:00

I’ve spent much of the past six months interviewing people across the United States in the leadup to the [New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen] case—part of research for a book I’m writing about the cultural and racial effects of U.S. gun laws. Although I uncovered a wide range of opinions, these interviews have given me a greater appreciation for the ways that high-level political games become grounded in the ostensibly “organic” political instincts of everyday Americans.

Central Illinois Father-Son Camp Makes Memories For Lots of Young, First-Time Shooters

Tue, 10/19/2021 - 17:00

Not everyone has ready access to firearms and a place to shoot. Especially young folks who live in cities like Chicago and the suburbs. However, each year at State Representative Chris Miller’s Father-Son Camp in East Central Illinois, everyone has a chance to shoot rifles and shotguns under the watchful eyes of safety officers.

The annual Father-Son Camp began with three dads spending the weekend with their sons almost thirty years ago. It grew in following years with more dads bringing their boys, sharing some bonding time, a love of the outdoors and Christian ministry.

Henry Repeating Arms is Expanding Its Wisconsin Manufacturing Capacity

Tue, 10/19/2021 - 15:00

Here’s a newsflash: the firearms business has been pretty good the last 18 months or so. But good as it’s been, if you’re on the manufacturing side of the business, deciding when to add capacity can be difficult. And risky.

Adding fixed costs during a time of high sales revenue can mean trouble when demand recedes back to “normal,” if there is such a thing any more. But if you build products that are as well-regarded and popular as Henry Repeating Arms’ rifles and shotguns, that eliminates some of the risk and makes the decision to expand easier.

Northeast Anti-Gun Governors’ Dog and Pony Show is a Damp Squib

Tue, 10/19/2021 - 14:00

By Larry Keane

Four northeast Democratic governors recently announced they will start sharing gun crime data to begin a new cooperative effort to combat “gun violence.” The video press conference drew less than 190 live viewers, but media coverage afterwards was predictably fawning and gave the governors exactly what they wanted – a quick and fleeting splash.

The governors involved are all staunch gun control proponents who prefer restricting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans to imposing justice on the criminals perpetrating crimes committed with firearms.

This is Why Police Don’t Shoot to Wound or Disarm

Tue, 10/19/2021 - 08:00

Why not shoot someone in the leg?

“And the answer is always, ‘Well, have you eliminated the threat if you shoot someone in the leg or the arm?’” said [former officer Randy] Shrewsberry, who is now the executive director of the California-based Institute for Criminal Justice Training Reform. “‘Do they still have the ability to shoot you?’”

Cadets throughout the nation learn to aim for a person’s torso above the waist, known as one’s center-mass.

With 684 Homicides So Far, Chicago Threatens to Axe Half Its 13,000 Cops Over Vaccine Mandate Refusals

Mon, 10/18/2021 - 18:00

If there’s a city in America that can’t afford to fire half its police officers, that would be Chicago. Yet here we are. Nearly half of Chicago’s 13,000 sworn cops have declined to share their personal health history regarding vaccinations with the City of Chicago by last Friday’s deadline. Now, they face termination by the corrupt city’s hapless government.

As if firing nearly half of the force’s cops isn’t bad enough, the remaining officers now have been forbidden from taking time off for any reason.
