The infamous Marxist mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio hates our NRA and our 2nd Amendment, but when it comes to criminals, that’s a whole other story.

In front of emotional supporters, Mayor de Blasio signed legislation Monday that will prohibit employers from inquiring about a candidate’s criminal record prior to a job offer.

“Today I see hope for people like me,” said Marilyn Scales, 52, of the Bronx, who said she never has had a full-time job because of her record for dealing heroin.

The mayor also signed legislation to step up regulation of the car wash industry. Car washes will have to obtain biannual city licenses as well as a $150,000 bond to cover costs if they are sued for wage theft.

Steve Rotlevi, owner of Zoom Car Spa in Brooklyn and head of Association of Car Washers, said the law was onerous.

“It is putting a gun to small business’ head,” he said. “It is the highest requirement for any city licensed industry.”

WASHINGTON — Sen. Bernie Sanders, a presidential candidate whose policies typically lean far left, is taking an unusual position on gun control: the middle ground.

Sanders, an independent from gun-friendly Vermont, says the U.S. must come up with “sensible gun control legislation” to overcome a “cultural divide” separating rural and urban areas. A ban on assault weapons should be part of the approach, along with strong background checks for firearms buyers, including at gun shows, said Sanders, who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“There is a middle ground here, that we can bring rural America and urban America together — not everybody, I know that — around a series of positions that will make sure guns do not fall into the hands of people who should not have them, that we eliminate loopholes,” he said during a recent interview. “Representing a state which has virtually no gun control, which has many hunters, puts me in a good position to be a strong leader in bringing both sides together for common-sense solutions.”
