An airport baggage handler was released from jail Monday and put on limited house arrest after being detained earlier this month for allegedly trafficking firearms through secured areas of the Atlanta International Airport.

A high speed chase which took place in Russia earlier this month ended when the vehicle leading the pursuit exploded when it was struck by lightening. The occupants in the car, who were wanted for allegedly robbing a church in St. Petersburg, all died in the inferno. The car also struck another vehicle as it crashed after being hot by the lightening bolt, but it’s unclear if anyone in that car was injured. The chances of dying from a lightening strike are around one in 300,000.

A Glendora, California nature photographer thought it would be fun to see how wild animals reacted if he put a stuffed Santa on a game trail.

Robert Martinez’s video camera, set up in the San Gabriel Mountains, captured a large black bear nonchalantly knocking the stuffed Santa down on his face. Martinez posted the video to his YouTube page and titled it “Merry Christmas! Santa gets KO’d by a Bear!”

“I haven’t seen any bears on my cameras for a few months, so I was pleasantly surprised and happy that he knocked out Santa right in front of the camera,” Martinez said in an email to local media.
