...How we feel about gun violence
In a recent discussion about gun rights vs. gun control on Twitter, I was presented with an image from a news story about a mother, Nardyne Jefferies, whose daughter, Brishell, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Washington, D.C. The mother holds what I understood to be an autopsy photograph showing her daughter’s injuries from rounds fired by what was identified as an AK-47.

Making its rounds on social media, a nine-second video originally posted to Twitter shows a small toddler apparently dressed as a miniature Pablo Escobar.
The costume depicting the infamous Colombian drug lord, who died at the age of 44 more than 20 years ago, includes a small briefcase and a toy pistol. Escobar was known as “The King of Cocaine” and history’s richest criminal, at one time supplied approximately 80 percent of the smuggled cocaine to the U.S.

16 gauge shotguns really are the best of both worlds
It was the second weekend of New York’s deer season in the southern zone. I had been late getting out to the woods and it was nearly nine in the morning. I passed several hunters on the way in to my spot so my hopes for success were not very high, but as luck would have it, after about twenty minutes of using my grunt call, a large six point buck walked down the trail and nearly right on top of me. His nose was in the dirt and he never saw me bring my Ithaca Deerslayer to my shoulder. The love sick whitetail then turned broadside and headed into the woods after a barely visible doe. He was about 25-yards away when I let fly with a 16 gauge slug. The buck jumped straight in the air and then came crashing down to earth. He scrambled, left leg dragging the whole way, then piled up after 50 yards. Even if I had lost sight of him, the blood trail was quite easy to spot.
