The Truth About Guns
Memphis Residents Approve Illegal Gun Control Ballot Initiative
We reported back in late July how Memphis city officials were making an end-run around Tennessee’s firearms preemption law by trying to put a three-part gun control question on the November ballot. Despite the secretary of state’s warning that the questions violated state law, a judge ruled in September that the questions could appear on the ballot.
Fast-forward to election day, and according to a report at tennesseelookout.com, Memphis voters approved the ballot measure, which prohibits carrying a handgun without a permit, bans so-called “assault weapons” and institutes a city “red-flag” law.

A Blueprint for Trump’s First 30 Days
San Francisco radical Kamala Harris and her leftwing ideology are done, thank God, but she’ll never be held responsible for the millions of illegal aliens she brought into the country or the crazy ideas she had about how she was going to run the government.
Tim Walz, whom Harris chose as VP, returned to his Minnesota home. No one will remember him or his penchant for fancy waves. He flew home Tuesday and did not have any events on his calendar Wednesday.

Gun Groups Challenge Maryland’s “Sensitive Places” Law in Federal Court
Attorneys representing the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and allied gun rights organizations have filed an appellants’ brief with the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, challenging Maryland’s restrictive “sensitive places” law. The case, Novotny v. Moore, questions the state’s limits on concealed carry in various public spaces, arguing that the restrictions violate the Second Amendment.
SAF, joined by Maryland Shall Issue, Inc., the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and three private citizens, contends that Maryland’s statute lacks historical precedent and excessively restricts concealed carry.

Reaction To Trump Landslide Runs From Elation To Devastation
With former president Donald Trump winning the 2024 presidential election and Republicans retaking the majority in the U.S. Senate (votes are still being counted in some close House races, but it’s likely they will keep that, too), the response from various groups invested in the gun control debate was quite diverse.
As expected, gun-rights groups—many of which had put lots of time, money and effort into the election—were nothing less than ecstatic at the results.
Obscure Object of Desire – S&W Regulation Police .32 S&W Long
The evolution of American police arms is an interesting one. It’s often one that highlights a difference between back east and out west. While the western states had a degree of lawlessness to them, which demanded large frame revolvers and calibers that start with .4, the lauded gentry back east prized themselves as civilized. This meant that such big revolvers weren’t necessary, and calibers that started with .3 were acceptable. That’s why guns like the S&W Regulation Police in .32 S&W Long exist.
U.S. Reps Introduce Measure Targeting Gun-Specific Merchant Category Code
The controversy over a new Merchant Category Code (MCC) specifically for purchase of guns and ammunition continues to grow and is now gaining attention at the federal level.
At issue is a new MCC for gun purchases adopted by the International Organization for Standardization in early 2023. MCCs are used by payment processors (like Visa and Mastercard) and other financial services companies to categorize transactions.
Prior to the creation of the specific gun code, firearms retailers fell under the MCC for sporting goods stores or miscellaneous retail.
Election 2024: A Great Night For America’s Gun Owners
Anti-gun candidates took a beating in Tuesday night’s election, with Republicans winning not only the presidency but also the U.S. Senate. At the time of this writing, House races in some districts were still too close to call, so declaring a Republican sweep is still premature.
Leading the red wave was former President Donald Trump, who crushed through the “blue wall” and captured 277 Electoral votes at the latest count, compared to just 224 for Vice President Kamala Harris.

TRUMP WINS!
Fox News is projecting Donald J. Trump has locked up Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to get to 277 electoral votes and will be elected as our country’s 47th president.
Democrats had hoped the so-called “blue wall,” states that have traditionally voted for the party in presidential elections from 1992 to 2012, including three swing states in this election – Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin – would step in to save the election again. But early in the evening, pundits, even on stations such as NBC News, CNN and MSNBC began openly admitting the path to the White House was narrowing for Kamala Harris and then the first domino fell when North Carolina went to Trump.
2024 Election Fears Fail to Drive Increase in Gun Sales
As election day finally arrives, gun sales in the U.S. haven’t experienced the usual surge that has become common with presidential elections over the past 20 years. In fact, October 2024 actually saw a slight decline in FBI background checks on gun-related transactions with numbers dropping by five percent from the same period last year. This trend reverses an upward movement seen earlier in the year and marks a departure from historical election-year patterns, according to The Reload’s Stephen Gutowski.

Charges Dropped Against Georgia Gun Owner Over Illegal Storage Ordinance
In a case backed by the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) on behalf of one of its members, prosecutors in Savannah, Georgia, have dropped charges of violating the city’s illegal “safe storage” ordinance.
Savannah’s City Council passed a gun storage ordinance in April that requires that a firearm stored in an unoccupied vehicle not be visible and be securely stored in a glove compartment, console, locked trunk or the area behind the last upright seat of a motor vehicle that is not equipped with a trunk and that the doors of an unoccupied vehicle in which a firearm is stored must be locked.
Gun Owners, Remember to Vote Today
It’s not like anyone over the age of four in America isn’t already painfully aware that today is voting day, but we’re still gong to add our reminder to the chorus of calls to vote because this election is so important. Gun owners across the country are encouraged to head to the polls today, Nov. 5, and make their voices heard by supporting candidates who stand for Second Amendment rights. While presidential elections often capture the spotlight, voting in Senate, House and state-level races is crucial to protecting and preserving the right to bear arms.

Why Gun Owners Can’t Sit Out This Election
With election day on the horizon, early voting participation and the latest polling show the presidential election between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as a toss-up.
As of the end of October, 76 million Americans had already cast their vote in the 2024 general election. According to a report at NBC News, about 41% of early votes so far were cast by Republicans, 39% by Democrats and 20% by others.

A fatal shooting in a Bartlett, New Hampshire, parking lot pitting a man with a 9mm pistol versus a victim with a 10mm has been ruled a case of self-defense by the state attorney general.
According to Attorney General John M. Formella’s report on the matter, on July 5, 2023, 23-year-old Jason Sanchez shot and killed Samuel Lozada, 24, during an altercation in a condominium parking lot during a party in Bartlett. At the time of the incident, both men were armed and both shot the other.
Ohio City Drops Park Gun Ban Thanks To Alert Citizen
Chalk up another win for state firearms preemption laws that ban municipalities from imposing more restrictive gun laws than those set by the state.
Until last week, the Canton, Ohio, Park Commission had banned firearms in city parks. However, according to a news item from the Buckeye Firearms Association, on October 22, the commission voted to update its park rules by removing the restriction on guns in parks after a local resident pointed out that the restriction violated state law.

Foxtrot Mike and KAK Suppressed .45 ACP Build
Not long ago I picked up a Foxtrot Mike MIKE-45 lower for use in a 10mm build. Foxtrot Mike doesn’t really market them for 10mm but when I reached out to them they said it should work, but that they hadn’t tried it. The 10mm is another story, but once I had the lower in hand I realized that I may as well build a .45 ACP upper for it too, since that’s what it was designed to work with.

Even though the Texas State Fair is over for this year, the ongoing saga of the carry ban instituted by the fair board for the 2024 fair is still heating up.
On October 29, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and three fairgoers challenged the policy with an updated lawsuit against the State Fair of Texas and the city of Dallas. New plaintiffs Maxx Juusola, Tracy Martin and Alan Crider joined the lawsuit, State of Texas v.
