Oh Canada: Crime Is Up, Fewer Gun Ranges Since Trudeau’s Gun Grab

Thu, 06/20/2024 - 09:30

In Canada, a ban on more than 1,500 firearm makes, models and variants, together with a mandatory government confiscation (“buyback”) requirement, was imposed by Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over four years ago. Contrary to the representations as to the inherent deadliness of these guns and the urgency of ensuring these dangerous weapons were no longer available to ordinary citizens, the government had no plan on how to implement the law (and all indications are that it still doesn’t).

When It Comes to Coke and Guns, Go Big With Your Lies to Police or Go Home

Thu, 06/20/2024 - 07:00

Here’s one from the “Nice Try Dude” department. A coked-out Hunter Biden wannabe sat in his Henderson, Nevada, condo last Friday and by his own accounts ingested a gram of cocaine (that was in addition to the three grams he said he had ingested earlier in the week) before shooting up the surrounding condo buildings with more than 100 rounds from an AR and a handgun and then jumping from the second story window and busting his head open.

Biden Cherry Picks Crime Stats to Suit His Agenda

Wed, 06/19/2024 - 15:00

Joe Biden flipflops on violent crime rates – sometimes they’re going up, sometimes they’re going down – depending on who is in the audience. He uses two vastly different data sources to create his mixed messages.

Biden cites FBI data when trying to convince voters that crime is not out of control, so they feel safe in their communities and reelect him to office. But when he panders to the gun-ban industry, advocates for an “assault weapon” ban, or announces yet another infringement of the Second Amendment as part of his ongoing war on guns, Biden cites mass-shooting data from the Gun Violence Archive.

MMA Fighter Shannon “The Cannon” Ritch Fires a Gun Instead in Self-Defense

Wed, 06/19/2024 - 13:00

MMA fighter Shannon Ritch may be called “The Cannon” in the octagon, but in the parking lot, he will now be known as “The Handgun.” Just this past weekend, after returning from an event in Qatar, Ritch, who at 53-years-old still likes to mix it up in the ring, was at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Phoenix when a dispute over parking turned from an argument to an attempted knife attack and ultimately to a defensive shooting with Ritch winning the title of survivor.

Supporting Criminals? Chicago Tribune Frets Over Citizens Defending Themselves

Wed, 06/19/2024 - 11:00

Last weekend, Chicagoans witnessed a weekend that saw at least 72 people shot. Tragically, nine of the victims died from their injuries. Just two weeks ago, Chicagoans survived a weekend that saw at least 44 people shot. Tragically, at least eight of the victims died from their injuries.

In a city where criminals know they can get away with violence and criminal shootings – even when police are involved – it’s not surprising that law-abiding Chicagoans would consider arming themselves and, God-forbid, having to use their firearm for self-defense or to protect their families.

GOP Senator Blocks Dem Rush to Pass Legislation to Ban Bump Stocks

Wed, 06/19/2024 - 08:56

Well, we knew this was coming. Barely had the echo of the gavel banging in the Supreme Court died down after the Court ruled 6-3 to strike down the Trump-era bump stock ban supported by Biden’s Justice Department, than a Democratic move in the Senate supported by anti-gun overlord Sen. Chuck Schumer attempted to pass legislation that would outlaw the controversial firearms accessory.

CBS News reports the attempt to pass the legislation was spearheaded by Sen.

CDC Report on Gun Storage is Statistically Meaningless

Wed, 06/19/2024 - 07:46

Three teenage girls were alone in their Lawrence County, Kentucky, home one hot summer day in 2019. Suddenly, a white car pulled up and two men got out. One man started kicking in the front door. The second suspect circled around to the backyard and began breaking out a window with a shovel. The youngest of the girls, who was 14 years old at the time, found and loaded the family’s 9mm pistol and fired a round at one of the suspects, who both quickly left.

How to Buy a Suppressor in 5 Simple Steps

Tue, 06/18/2024 - 15:00

Buying a suppressor has never been easier, especially with companies such as Silencer Shop basically holding your hand and walking you through the entire process, a process that can be daunting and confusing to a first-time buyer, but really isn’t that hard. Even better, where not so long ago, wait times for approvals were taking as long as nine months and sometimes even over a year to secure, they now are occurring in a matter of just a few days.

What If Someone Tries To Rob You While Camping?

Tue, 06/18/2024 - 13:00

Look at any RV message board or Facebook group and you’ll see posts about “the knock.” For some people, it’s just that they parked in the wrong place and tried to sleep against the rules or some local ordinance aimed at the homeless. For others, a stealth van life setup wasn’t stealthy enough, and someone figured out what they were doing. But, what if it’s not the police, a security guard or someone else with good (but annoying) intentions?

Biden Admin Takes Aim at Recreational Shooting on Public Lands

Tue, 06/18/2024 - 11:00

President Joe Biden is determined to decimate the notion that responsible gun owners should be able to responsibly teach the next generation of outdoorsmen and women recreational target shooting. His latest scheme is to shutter 98.9 percent of the Sonoran Desert National Monument to recreational target shooting.

The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) finalized a resource management plan revision that closes off all but 1.1 percent of the nearly half-a-million-acre national monument.

Little Rock Whitewash: Prosecuting Attorney Declares ATF Use of Force Justified in Citizen Killing

Tue, 06/18/2024 - 09:00

TVH 11 in Little Rock, Arkansas, reported yesterday that Will Jones, the prosecuting attorney for the Sixth Judicial District, declared that the use of deadly force during an ATF raid on Bryan Malinowski’s home in Little Rock was justified under Arkansas law. The case has been followed extensively by the Second Amendment Foundation, TTAG and other pro-gun media outlets. Jones’ statement follows inquiries from four Arkansas Republican congressmen and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who requested documents from the Arkansas State Police regarding the raid.

Tue, 06/18/2024 - 07:00

The latest Federal Bureau of Investigation crime data for the first quarter of 2024 shows a substantial reduction in crime compared to the same time last year. In fact, the FBI reported that crime fell more than 15% from the first quarter 2023.

Federal Bump Stock Ruling Doesn’t Eliminate State Bans on Same Products

Mon, 06/17/2024 - 16:00

Ryan Katz is an attorney with Florida law firm Katz & Phillips also known as the Firearm Firm, one of the leading gun law and gun rights supporting law firms in the country. As his firm works to keep gun owners, particularly Florida gun owners, informed of changes to laws, so that hopefully, they don’t necessarily need to become clients, Katz penned a blog post immediately following last week’s striking down of the bump stock ban by the Supreme Court.

Different Set of Laws If You’re a Biden

Mon, 06/17/2024 - 14:00

It can be problematic to compare the sentence one criminal defendant receives to another. A judge has a wide variety of mitigating and aggravating factors to consider before passing sentence, such as the defendant’s criminal history, whether they’ve shown contrition and the facts of the crime itself. A prison term that may appear unfair to some may actually be well within the guidelines.

That said, those looking for a near perfect comparison to Hunter Biden’s criminal gun charges need look no further than The United States of America v.

A Legal Take on the Supreme Court’s Bump Stock Ruling

Mon, 06/17/2024 - 12:00

When the Supreme Court ruled the federal government’s Trump-era ban on bump stocks was overreach and struck the restriction down, it removed a shadow from many gun owners who likely still owned the devices, removing otherwise honest, law-abiding citizens from the possibility of being an unintentional felon.

West Virginia defense attorney, Todd La Neve, who specializes in gun law, had this to say on his YouTube channel immediately following the Court’s 6-3 ruling last week on June 14:

“Bump stock ban ruled unconstitutional!

Biden Speak: Proof That A Lie Told Often Enough Still Doesn’t Make It The Truth

Mon, 06/17/2024 - 08:33

While there are very few things to admire about President Joe Biden, his persistence—especially when it comes to schemes that would cripple and hurt gun owners, gun makers and gun sellers—is nothing short of impressive. In fact, if it were directed toward proposals that would actually help curb the country’s violent crime problem, it would be downright admirable.

Instead, it’s the same old thing, over and over, regurgitated at public appearances where the audience can’t even tell if ol’ Joe even knows whether he’s talking about guns or gorillas.

Obscure Object of Desire – S&W 432 PD

Sat, 06/15/2024 - 12:00

Smith & Wesson and various .32 caliber revolvers date back to 1865 and the advent of rimfire cartridges. In 1878, the company created the .32 S&W, a centerfire micro-sized .32 caliber round. Guns like the S&W 1 and a Half chambered the little cartridge, as did the famed Lemon Squeezers, the Model 3, and more. The S&W 432 PD can easily trace its lineage back to 1878 through the evolution of various .32 caliber revolver cartridges.

A federal grand jury has indicted Mark Adams Prieto, 58, of Prescott, Arizona, on charges of firearms trafficking, transferring a firearm for use in a hate crime and possession of an unregistered firearm. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona announced the indictment this week, following an extensive investigation into Prieto’s alleged plan to commit a mass shooting targeting Black Americans and other minorities in an attempt to incite a race war before the 2024 presidential election.
