Fri, 06/14/2024 - 10:00

Top gun control groups have notably avoided discussing Hunter Biden’s recent gun conviction and his likely appeal on Second Amendment grounds. As reported by Politico, these groups are reluctant to comment on the case, with one activist stating, “No, we’re not going to get in the middle of this shitstorm. Nothing good can come of it.”

Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, was convicted of owning a gun while using drugs and lying about it on a purchase form.

Punitive Gun Storage Measure On The Move In California

Fri, 06/14/2024 - 08:10

California gun owners could face a restrictive—and arguably unconstitutional—new firearms storage law if some anti-gun Democrats in the state assembly get their way. A measure requiring guns to be stored where they are inaccessible for self-defense purposes—the very reason many people own them—recently passed one more hurdle in the legislative process.

On Tuesday, Senate Bill 53, introduced by Democrat state Sen. Anthony Portantino was approved by the Assembly Public Safety Committee on a 6-to-2 vote.

BREAKING: District Court Vacates Biden Pistol Brace Final Rule

Thu, 06/13/2024 - 15:06

A U.S. District Court in Texas has ruled that the Biden Justice Department’s Final Rule redefining braced pistols as “short-barreled rifles” violates the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) so is therefore unconstitutional.

In the lawsuit Mock v. Garland, U.S. District Court Judge Reed O’Connor granted summary judgment in favor of the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and its co-plaintiffs and issued a final judgment and order vacating the DOJ/ATF rule.

At issue wasn’t the constitutionality of the Final Rule under the Second Amendment, but the fact that the APA forbids bureaucratic agencies from making laws, which is the purview of a duly elected Congress.

Thu, 06/13/2024 - 12:00

While President Joe Biden seemed adamant a few days ago that he would not pardon his son, Hunter Biden, if he was convicted on felony gun charges, the White House seems to be backing off that stance—at least a bit.

On Tuesday, a federal court jury in Delaware found the younger Biden guilty on all three federal felony gun charges stemming from buying and possessing a firearm while he was addicted to illegal drugs.

Thu, 06/13/2024 - 08:00

The pro-gun group Gun Owners of Maine is preparing to fight the state’s newly implemented three-day waiting period in court, but that fight is going to take money.

Back in April, anti-gun lawmakers in the Pine Tree State passed a measure requiring a 72-hour waiting period for gun purchasers before they can be transferred a gun they have purchased, even after passing the FBI’s federal background check. Passage took a barrage of procedural games, and then Gov.

Mission First Tactical Custom AR-15 Mags

Wed, 06/12/2024 - 15:30

It was back at SHOT Show in early 2020 when I hit the Mission First Tactical (MFT) booth and spied a few distinctive AR-15 mags on display. They had colorful images seemingly embedded into the polymer itself rather than painted on or applied via a sticker. I’d gone through the process myself at the time for an article detailing it, now I’ve done it again and can give a durability report on the originals as well.

When you think about lever-action rifles, the image of wood stocks and blued steel is probably what pops into your head. Typically, that is what you see when a new lever gun hits the market, and then companies may come out with other variations down the road. Well, when Smith & Wesson released the new .44 Magnum Model 1854 at SHOT this year they skipped that step and went right to stainless steel and M-LOK equipped polymer stocks.

Tester’s seat is considered one of the most vulnerable in the Senate. One reason: Montanans love their guns, and Joe Biden – the titular head of Tester’s party – is the most anti-gun president the country has ever seen.
