PLUM CRAZY: ATF rules Plum Crazy polymer receivers ILLEGAL

Mon, 03/31/2014 - 14:42

The Firearms Blog has a story of an ATF determination letter that the Plum Crazy brand of polymer receivers from a few years ago are non-compliant to he law in that the serial numbers are easily removed.

During the examination of the submitted AR- 15 type firearm receiver section (serial number RM00501 ), FTB also found that both the height and depth of the serial number markings are acceptable and thus compliant with§ 478.92. With respect to the adequacy of the attachment of the insert for this frame, the FTB evaluation revealed that the serial number consisted of a thin sheet of metal-like material and was attached to the surface of the embedded metal insert. This serial number was easily removed when a hammer and screw driver were used to peel the sheet off of the metal insert. This action took approximately 1 minute and caused no damage to the receiver. (See enclosed photos depicting the removal of the serial number insert.)

GONE: Douche Morgan says goodbye with parting gun control rant

Mon, 03/31/2014 - 11:00

As we wrote a little over a month ago, Piers Morgan got dumped by MSNBC.

He delivered his last miserable episode Friday evening, subjecting his 314 viewers to one last dose of his funny accent and limited intellect.

He closed his show not with an upbeat message about greatness and inspiration, but rather with a whiny tirade about so-called scourge of violence involving guns, lamenting the impotence of gun control advocates like him to overcome the strength of Americans’ beliefs in liberty and freedom.

CHICAGO ISN’T SAFE: The orgy of violence continues unabated

Sun, 03/30/2014 - 13:00

So much for Chicago Police Chief Garry McCarthy’s successful policing tactics that he claimed were responsible for a sharp drop in violent crime in Chicago early in the year.

Now that it’s not negative thirty wind chill and sixteen inches of snow on the ground, the trash in Chicago are running wild, raping, robbing and killing people with impunity.

Chicago (NBC Chicago) – Two men were fatally shot and at least 15 others have been wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday.

THINNING THE THUG HERD: Chicago cops shoot “alleged” dope dealer who likes to point guns

Sun, 03/30/2014 - 11:00

There was a whole lot of wailing and caterwauling from the “inner city community” members near the scene of a police-involved shooting in Chicago.

Where were these people when little Raason (pronounced ‘raisin’?) was growing up?  Why wasn’t little Raason in college learning how to cure cancer instead of slinging dope, as police allege, on a corner at 8:45a.m.?  Why wasn’t little Raisin being a productive citizen instead of pointing a .40 caliber Glock and police officers?

A 20-year-old man who allegedly pointed a gun at a police officer was fatally shot by a police Saturday morning after a foot chase on the South Side, officials said.

Raason Shaw, of the 7800 block of South Merrill Avenue, pointed a .40-caliber handgun at an officer who was running after him in the 6200 block of South Rhodes Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood, officials said.

According to a statement issued by police, a Glock semi-automatic handgun with a laser sight and extended high-capacity magazi

WRONG HOUSE, BOYS: Chicago off-duty cop repels trio of would-be home invaders

Sun, 03/30/2014 - 09:00

Nice shooting, officer.

Chicago (Sun-Times) - Two people are in custody after an off-duty Chicago Police officer shot one of three men who tried to break into his home Friday afternoon in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood, police said.

The officer was at home in the 9600 block of South Princeton Avenue about noon when the suspects tried to break in, police News Affairs said in a statement.

After one suspect pointed a handgun at the officer, the officer, fearing for his life, fired at him, police said. Two of the men, including the one who was shot, fled in a stolen vehicle, but were halted near 89

CA: Another “stay at home” Mom demanding action? Not quite

Sat, 03/29/2014 - 12:00

Moms Demand Action is a wholly owned subsidiary of former mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

However, they are careful to put forth an entirely different image to the low-information crowd.

Moms Demand Action claim to be just everyday Americans.

The reality, of course, is quite the opposite.

Shannon Watts, their national director is an example.  When she splashed on the scene a year ago, she claimed to be a housewife and mom.  In reality, she has long been a Democrat operative, paid (and paid well) to promote for lefty causes.

Enter California’s new state director of Moms Demand Action.

Two MORE Detroit thugs put down

Sat, 03/29/2014 - 11:00

I know you’re gonna be saddened to learn that two more of Detroit’s depraved hoodlums are now taking a dirt nap.

This brings the dead thug count – in Detroit alone – to ten so far this year.

(guns.com) A Detroit man fatally shot two suspected burglars on the city’s northwest side while the men were attempting to break into his house around 10:30 a.m on Tuesday.

Upon hearing a noise near the side window, the homeowner grabbed his handgun and went outside to investigate, according to Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody.

The suspects, who were in their 20s, got into an altercation with the homeowner, during which the homeowner, a concealed carry permit holder, drew his gun and fatally shot the two men.

Sgt. Woody told The Detroit News that the details of the shooting have been sent

Michigan approves short-barrelled rifles and shotguns!

Sat, 03/29/2014 - 09:00

Illinois, of course, approved short-barreled rifles at the beginning of 2013.  (Vewy vewy quietly, that is…)

Michigan didn’t need to be quiet about it.  They passed it with pride and their governor signed not only a bill for short-barreled rifles, but also short-barreled shotguns.

God bless Michigan!

BOO HOO: Gun grabbers worried Yee’s anti-gun bills are dead in California legislature

Sat, 03/29/2014 - 08:00

Let me play you a sour note on my big trombone!

Gun grabbers are worried the gun-trafficking Democrat California State Senator Leland “Guns for me, but not for yee” Yee’s arrest on a host of corruption and gun-running charges will doom his gun control bills.

Gee?  Ya think?

(Breitbart) – Gun control groups working to push further gun control in California worry that state senator Leland Yee’s indictment on arms trafficking “may slow the legislature’s consideration of gun restrictions this year.”

According to AP California News, on March 27 organizers of more legislation said “th

Leland Yee, the Kochs, and the Press
There’s no journalistic skepticism about the motives of those on the left.

(National Review) - Leland Yee, a Democratic state senator and candidate for secretary of state in California, has been a longtime champion of gun control. This week he was arrested on numerous charges, including conspiracy to deal firearms without a license and conspiracy to illegally transport firearms. Yee, a prominent foe of assault weapons, allegedly took bribes to set up a meeting between an undercover agent and an international arms dealer to broker the sale of automatic weapons and shoulder-fired missiles. A lengthy FBI affidavit also describes Yee’s ties to a Chinese triad and his desire to help out Islamist militants.

In short, the story makes for what journalists call “good copy.”

And yet, so far no reporter has raised the possibility that

TROUBLESOME: EPA raids brass reclamation company in Montana

Fri, 03/28/2014 - 16:07

Is this using the EPA to harass a company that provides a service to gun owners or is this an employer cavalier with their employees’ safety?

It’s sad to have to speculate like this, but this regime has proven its willingness to use big government against its enemies.

BOZEMAN, Mont – (KTVM) The FBI raided Bozeman based USA Brass Thursday morning. We were tipped off by a viewer who told us federal agents were on scene by 9a.m. Throughout the morning we saw agents from the FBI, EPA Criminal Division, and Bozeman Police come and go from the Bozeman business.

Around 12:30 p.m. Agent Bert Marsden identified himself as the resident agent in charge of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Criminal Division in Montana.  He told NBC Montana agents were expected on scene through the evening, and gave a short statement about the investigation.

Anti-gunner Leland Yee *was* a tyrant

Fri, 03/28/2014 - 14:21

We often say that gun control advocates are looking to recreate past tyrannies with their efforts to disarm the citizenry and keep them helpless against victimization.

Leland Yee, the rabidly gun-hating Democrat from California was just such a man.

He was just arrested this past week on corruption, bribery and arms trafficking charges.

It’s worse than you might imagine.

Democrat Leland Yee worked to provide arms to islamic terrorists, while working to take arms away from law-abiding Californians.

Democrat Leland Yee offered to provide shoulder-fired missiles to islamist insurgents, while sponsoring and promoting legislation to outlaw America’s favorite rifle.

Democrat Leland Yee worked to arm a Filipino islamic rebel group in their efforts to terrorize the civilian populations and overthrow the democratically elected government there.

He sought to make himself a true tyrant, in the interest of enriching himse

Rauner on Guns: One man’s take

Fri, 03/28/2014 - 00:49

Where is Bruce Rauner on guns?

He’s been pretty elusive, pretty much limiting his comments to praise of his “huntin’ dog”.

Mike Rowe – no, not that Mike Rowe but instead the one from Illinois Carry – posted of an experience he had before the primary with Bruce Rauner over at AR15.com.

Take it for what it’s worth.  GSL’s Don Huskey got absolutely nowhere with Rauner at a Republican event in Effingham, also pre-primary.

Rowe writes he had a little better luck…

A couple of weeks ago, Rauner did a bus stop in my home town.
He was only there for about 30 minutes…This is my brief encounter with him.
He went through the line shaking hands with everyone and I asked him if an Assault Weapons Ban hit Gov. Rauner’s desk what would he do with it…”Veto it”. So I ask if any other anti-gun bills hit his desk, what would Gov. Rauner do with them? “Veto them, we have enough

Redford, MI (Detroit Free Press) – A Jet’s Pizza delivery driver fired shots at two men who attempted to rob him Saturday night when they posed as customers, Redford police said.

The driver was making a delivery to a residence in the 9900 block of Grayfield when one of the males grabbed him and the other produced a handgun and demanded his money.

Police said the driver, who lawfully possesses a firearm, shot at the suspects, then fled the area and called 911. The suspects also fled the area in a wait

DC LUNACY: Judge convicts man of “attempted possession of ammo” for black powder *projectiles*

Thu, 03/27/2014 - 10:00

Emily Miller has the story at the Washington Times.  These people in D.C. don’t have a clue about guns.  They convicted this man for the crime of having black powder bullets (not cartridges, but bullets – the projectile) in his home even though in their magnificent benevolence, local authorities allow residents to have muzzle-loading firearms…

MILLER: Exclusive — Shock verdict — Mark Witaschek guilty of possessing muzzleloader bullets in D.C.

In a surprising twist at the end of a long trial, a District of Columbia judge found Mark Witaschek guilty of “attempted possession of unlawful ammunition” for antique replica muzzleloader bullets.

CHICAGO ISN’T SAFE: Shortage of ambulances, growing response times

Thu, 03/27/2014 - 09:47

Second City Cop turns us on to a story in Chicago that is just another reason not to travel to Chicago – home of Illinois strictest gun control laws and highest violent crime.  No correlation there between crime and gun control, of course.  No.  Huh-uh.

It’s not directly gun related, however, if you have a health emergency in Chicago while traveling there on business or pleasure, the advanced life support ambulance services you presently enjoy in your hometown may not be available in Chicago… and even if one might be available, you’re going to wait longer for it to arrive in America’s second-largest city.

To make matters worse, instead of fixing the problem, the Chicago of Chicago is telling dispatchers and employees to avoid mentioning the unavailability of ALS-equipped ambulances in their radio communications.

It’s kind of like crime un

Illinois Association of Realtors looking to cut their own throats

Wed, 03/26/2014 - 19:19

The Illinois Association of Realtors is treading on some very thin ice with their recommendations on posting “NO GUNS” signage.

As conscientious gun owners, it will be up to us to let those bigots who oppose our right to self-defense feel the pinch of lost business and lost profits for their anti-gun prejudices.

From the IAR newsletter.  Our thoughts in red.  Bold emphasis added.

Q:  What do I need to be concerned about with regard to the new Illinois concealed carry law as it relates to my real estate brokerage practice?

A: That is a good question. You will need to know what your own office policy is and whether your sponsoring brokerage company allows concealed carry within your office. If so, the person who possesses a valid conce

Like a good neighbor, a gun owner is there: CCW holder stops felonious assault in MI

Wed, 03/26/2014 - 17:27

From Detroit Free Press:

Roseville Police Chief James Berlin said that Silva claimed he is addicted to heroin, but it is not believed he was on the drug at the time of the assault.

Berlin said Silva began to fight with store loss prevention officers in the parking lot when they tried to apprehend him for stuffing a $179 battery-powered drill under his coat. Silva pulled a concealed syringe from his jacket and used it as a weapon, swinging it around in a slashing motion, police said.

They said he stabbed one of the officers several times with the contaminated needle. Berlin said the victim had more than five puncture wounds on the top of his hand.
