We Need to Call Out the Gun Control Liars When They Lie About the Efficacy of Gun Control

Lies come in many shapes and sizes. Some are simple exaggerations. Some are absurd falsehoods. Unfortunately, we tend to believe a plain, bold-faced lie if it’s expressed with enough emotion. That’s the same kind thing keeps viewers watching and clicking so the press is often more interested in outrage than in the truth.
A lie doesn’t become the truth no matter how many times it’s repeated, but the lie may help politicians get re-elected if it’s repeated often enough and believed by enough likely voters.

Bowdlerized: Steven Spielberg Edited the Guns Out of E.T. and Now He Regrets It
Steven Spielberg participated in a master class at the Time 100 Summit and announced he regrets editing guns out of “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.” The film’s 1982 theatrical cut includes a scene of officers chasing young kids with firearms. Spielberg edited the guns out for the 20th anniversary release of the film and replaced the firearms with walkie talkies.
“That was a mistake,” Spielberg said. “I never should have done that.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee signed a trio of bills meant to address gun violence Tuesday, one banning the sale of certain semi-automatic rifles, one imposing a 10-day waiting period on firearms purchases and one clearing the way for lawsuits against gun makers or sellers in certain cases.

Carry pistols seem to get smaller with each iteration. With the introduction of pistols like SIG’s P365 and Springfield’s Hellcat pushing the envelope, it forced a revolution of sorts in the gun industry. That revolution meant smaller and easier to conceal guns with increased capacity. It was only a matter of time before the venerable 1911 got the same treatment.

Fired Louisville PD Officer Who Killed Breonna Taylor Has a New Job in Law Enforcement [VIDEO]

A Louisville police officer who fired the fatal shot that killed Breonna Taylor has a new job in law enforcement in a county northeast of the city.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday confirmed the hiring of Myles Cosgrove, who was fired from the Louisville Metro Police Department in January 2021 for violating use-of-force procedures and failing to use a body camera during the raid on Taylor’s apartment, WHAS-TV reported.

The Truth About Manual Handgun Safeties
Some gun owners claim manual safeties are a bad, bad thing, a dangerous hindrance. Others consider manual safeties a necessary for responsible carry. It’s an old argument and these days, some anti-gun journalists (yes, that’s redundant) criticize gun makers for making pistols without external safeties. It’s time for everyone to accept a few facts about safeties on handguns.
First, it’s mostly the owners of GLOCKs, SIGs and other polymer striker-fired guns, as well as those who still carry wheel guns who say that a manual safety is pointless/unsafe/potentially dangerous.

A New Yorker is Fighting a One-Man Battle Against the City’s Restrictions on FFLs in the Big Apple
The New York court case that no one knows about right now is Cavalier Knight v. New York City. Knight’s cases first came to my attention in December of 2021. Knight and I chatted and he is one determined individual.
Knight is currently challenging New York’s requirement that a federally licensed gun seller has to have a brick and mortar location in order to get a state-issued Firearm Dealer’s License (FDL).
Sixth Person Arrested in Connection With Alabama Sweet 16 Party Shooting

Investigators on Thursday charged a sixth person with reckless murder in connection with a deadly shooting at a Sweet 16 birthday party, saying in court documents they believe gunmen shot into the crowd during the celebration.
Investigators said in court documents filed Thursday that they believe five of those charged were present at the party on April 15 and “discharged firearms into the crowd,” resulting in the deaths of four people.
