Yeehaw! Cowboy Gun Spinning Gone Wrong

Sun, 10/30/2022 - 16:00

I’m fairly sure this is CGI; that the gunshot and the results of it are fake. Not 100% sure, though. So, as if you needed the reminder, don’t be an idiot. (in case the video embed below isn’t working, you can view it on Instagram HERE):

DISPARITY OF FORCE: 5’6″ 140-lb CCW Holder Cleared In Triple Shooting After Group Attack in Bucks County, PA

Sun, 10/30/2022 - 11:17

Against unarmed adversaries, a defender can resort to deadly force if a disparity of force exists.  And a young auto mechanic with a concealed carry license did just that in Bucks County, PA days ago.  The prosecutor there just cleared him of wrongdoing, citing the number of attackers, their size, and other disparity issues.

It all began when Liam Hughes, 21, an Army reservist for three and a half years with a concealed carry license left a bar in Southampton, PA with a friend.

Parson: We Don’t Need More Gun Laws, We Need More Mental Health Resources

Sun, 10/30/2022 - 08:00

Missouri is perceived by some to have some of the most lax gun laws in the country. Gov. Mike Parson said more mental health resources are needed, not more gun laws.

“It’s just really unfortunate that everyone wants to go to the political point of the guns when you have a tragedy like this,” Parson said. …

“Bad people doing bad things are going to find ways to do those things,” Parson said.

Risky Business: Florida Man Intervenes to Save Pregnant Woman Being Attacked Outside Publix Store

Fri, 10/28/2022 - 14:00

Using force to protect third-parties poses all manner of dangers to a good guy with a gun.  Sometimes though, it’s clear to even most low-information types that force is justified against an attacker of a third party.

That’s exactly what happened outside a Largo, Florida Publix supermarket. A man stomped his pregnant girlfriend’s head and upper body after punching her in the face repeatedly.

A good guy with a gun and a concealed carry license saw the attack in progress and intervened.

Shotgun Mini Shells: A Shotgunner on Their Advantages, Drawbacks and Best Uses

Fri, 10/28/2022 - 12:00

I love shotguns. I always have and I come from a family who used shotguns for hunting deer, shooting birds, and defending the homestead. In the Marines, I was one of the few Marines issued a Mossberg because I could not only use, but teach the shotgun.

To me, shotguns are constant experiments in ammunition, sighting systems, and usability. By the bedside sits a Mossberg 590 similar to my issued gun way back when I was cool.

The debate between U.S. Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and her challenger Republican Tiffany Smiley revealed to voters the stark differences between the two who are vying to represent Washington voters in the U.S. Senate. Sen. For Sen. Murray, her gun control platform is based on two tries and a lie.

Know What To Say — And What Not To Say — When Responding To Officers After Use Of Force

Thu, 10/27/2022 - 14:00

While more and more good guys continue to carry in both shall-issue states as well as constitutional carry states, most folks still don’t know the best thing to say while responding officers in the aftermath of a use of force situation. Those who are ahead of the curve know not to tell cops much aside from your name and that you want to talk with an attorney before answering questions. But surprisingly, large swaths of gun owners still don’t understand the crucial importance of asking for counsel before answering questions.

Kathy Hochul Just Can’t Understand Why Everyone Is So Concerned About Crime in New York

Thu, 10/27/2022 - 10:00

“I don’t know why this [crime] is so important to you.”

With one dismissive comment, New York’s Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul encapsulated why New Yorkers may rock the Empire State political landscape and make their #GUNVOTE concerns a reality at the ballot boxes on Nov. 8. Crime and safety was front and center during a debate between Gov. Hochul and challenger U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) and the differences could not be more drastic.

Thu, 10/27/2022 - 10:00

The showdown between Pennsylvania’s Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman and Republican candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz vying for the open U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania was described as “painful.” Lt. Gov. Fetterman is clearly struggling with the effects of the stroke he suffered months ago. We sincerely hope that he regains his health. Nevertheless, the debate revealed that Keystone State voters must contend with two candidates with vastly differing view on Second Amendment rights.

Relax New Yorkers, You’ll Still Be Able to Make Life Difficult for Concealed Carriers

Thu, 10/27/2022 - 08:00

Over the past four decades, most American states chose to let everyday citizens carry concealed weapons. Indeed, about half of states no longer even require a permit to pack heat.

New York took a different path — but is being dragged into a more lenient gun-carrying regime by the courts. Exactly how far it will be dragged is an open question. But there are two reasons for New Yorkers not to panic.

6 Ways Good Guys Screw Up in Self-Defense Situations

Wed, 10/26/2022 - 16:00

You have the right to use deadly force when faced with an imminent, credible threat of death or grievous bodily harm. This applies even in anti-gun, anti-self-defense jurisdictions with Soros-funded prosecutors (i.e. Houston, Los Angles, Chicago, Dallas, New York, St. Louis, Austin, Philadelphia, Albuqurque, San Antonio….).

Sadly, armed self-defenders often make dumb mistakes in the heat of the moment that get them in trouble. Obviously a prudent person will know and understand the laws in their own state.

OMG! Midterm Voters Don’t Give a Damn About Gun Control! OMG!

Wed, 10/26/2022 - 14:00

The anti-gun pearl-clutchers are in a tizzy. Voter polling is showing that radical gun control isn’t a leading concern as America is closing in on election day Nov. 8.

Voters are keyed on runaway inflation, the increasing cost of living and rising crime as the most pressing issues that will inform their votes. Voters are more concerned about what the Biden administration is doing to their pocketbooks today than what it wants to do to gun rights tomorrow.

Burglar’s Butcher Knife No Match For Resident’s Handgun in Harristown, PA

Wed, 10/26/2022 - 10:00

Some folks simply lack the intellect of the average potted plant. These extra low-information types, despite all of life’s lessons, remain slow to realize the folly of bringing a knife to a gun fight. This time, Keon Washington, aged old-enough-to-know-better, escaped with his life after kicking in the back door of a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania home.

The homeowner said the 32-year-old hoodlum broke down the door in the late afternoon last Friday. Washington must have thought he would have the home all to himself.

Wed, 10/26/2022 - 08:00

If you’re in the market for a .22 shotgun for your kindergartner, Crickett has you covered. Trademarked by Keystone Sporting Arms as “My First Rifle”, the company markets the weapon for “true winners” in a sickly-sweet pink among a range of color swatches. A testimonial praises the weapon as “just the right size” for a five-year-old, without mentioning that, in 2013, a Kentucky boy of the very same age used the weapon to accidentally shoot and kill his two-year-old sister.
