Ukrainian Welder Creates ‘Flowers of War’ From Rifles, Ammunition
From the AP . . .
A blacksmith in the Russian-controlled eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk is practically beating swords into ploughshares, and turning one man’s trash into treasures. Viktor Mikhalev takes weapons and ammunition and produces what he calls the flowers of war.
Mikhalev, who trained as a welder, lives and works in a house whose fence and door are decorated with forged flowers and grapes. In his workshop are piles of half-burnt machine guns and shells from the war’s front line.

Bartozzi: ‘Expansive’ Connecticut Gun Control Bills Would Do Nothing to Deter Criminals
NSSF’s President and CEO Joe Bartozzi had a few words for Connecticut lawmakers considering Gov. Ned Lamont’s gun control proposals. Bartozzi testified and used every second of his allotted time to explain how wrong the governor’s proposals are and how they would only severely penalize law-abiding residents in the Constitution State.
Bartozzi was joined by NSSF’s Jake McGuigan, Managing Director for Government Relations – State Affairs.
Lowest of the Low: ‘Obituary Burglar’ Shot Dead in Henderson, Nevada
A thug on parole after serving time for drugs, theft, and a dash of child abuse was found in the home of a recently deceased 93-year-old man in Henderson, Nevada. The homeowner’s son found Dylan Gall in the home at 2:00 a.m. and shots were fired. Gall tried to flee after being wounded, but just couldn’t make it past the kitchen before he succumbed to his wounds.
It’s just the latest case of “obituary burglars,” scumbags who comb the newspaper, then target the homes of the recently deceased, either hitting vacant homes following the death or striking while funeral services are underway.

Opponents, Anti-Gunners Horrified as Constitutional Carry Looks Inevitable in Florida
By Lee Williams
Whether it’s called constitutional carry, permitless carry or unlicensed concealed carry — which is probably the most accurate — the fact that soon millions of Floridians will no longer need a permission slip from the government to defend themselves has critics frothing at the mouth.
It’s going to happen, and there’s nothing they can do about it – that’s the bottom line.
They’re powerless to stop the massive restoration of our civil rights, regardless of how hard they whine or how absurd their prognostications of impending doom become.

Gun Review: Vudoo Gun Works Möbius 1911
The Vudoo Gun Works website touts, “With methods common in the aerospace industry, Vudoo has been able to redefine the production of the 1911. This is accomplished by ensuring that all components are manufactured to very close tolerances…”
For my long-time readers, that promise sounds familiar, and foreboding. Whenever I hear “aerospace industry” and “very close tolerances” from a 1911 manufacturer, I prepare myself to be disappointed.
The Mobius did not disappoint.

SilencerCo is Retooling for Success
Firearms technology is constantly evolving. Companies that ignore the adage “innovate or die,” rarely remain relevant, if they survive at all.
Suppressor companies, as a subset of the firearms industry, face the same challenge. As suppressors grow more popular, companies must stay on or near the leading edge to compete. On a recent visit to SilencerCo, we saw what that company is doing not only to stay on the edge, but to drive it forward.

Young: The Founding Father’s Biggest Misfire Was the 2nd Amendment
America is a country-size arsenal. …
And the obscene ubiquity of firearms in the U.S. explains much about why the country is a killing field without parallel in the developed world. Anyone who has studied the matter arrives at a simple conclusion: More guns means more death.
“Most countries do not have a problem with fatal mass shootings,” Daniel Webster, the co-director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions, told a Fox affiliate last year after the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

DC Police Chief Floats an Idea for Reducing Violent Crime That’s So Radical It Just Might Work
As crime continues to skyrocket in the nation’s Capitol, Metropolitan Police Department Police Chief Robert Contee has come up with a truly radical idea for addressing the problem: stop releasing criminals back onto the streets and keep them behind bars.
“What we got to do, if we really want to see homicides go down, is keep bad guys with guns in jail. Because when they’re in jail, they can’t be in communities shooting people,” Contee told reporters during a press conference alongside Mayor Muriel Bowser, Fox News reported.
So a Naked Woman Walked Into a Virginia Man’s Home and Attacked Him With an Iron Skillet . . .
Virginia might be for lovers, but a Carroll County Virginia woman apparently didn’t get the memo. In a story that started off like a bad Penthouse Forum letter, an unclothed woman allegedly walked into a man’s home Austinville, Virginia last week.
That probably sounded interesting for the homeowner, but police say the naked Paula Michelle Locklear, 35, then picked up a cast iron frying pan and started beating the male homeowner about the head with it.
Indianapolis Police Department Has Been Sharing Firearms Data With ATF for Half a Century
By Lee Williams
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has quietly tested every single recovered firearm – even those not used in the commission of crimes – without probable cause or a search warrant for as long as anyone at the department can recall, according to a story published recently by WISHTV.com.
Once the firearms were tested at the police department’s crime lab, the data was then sent to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which used it to create an illegal gun registry.
Williams: Missouri Reps Should Defend Missourians’ Right to Live Rather Than Their Gun Rights
After the NRA’s wildly successful lobbying to turn the Second Amendment into an absolute individual right was emboldened by the Bruen decision, several states have been toeing the line to determine what prohibitions, if any, stand in the way of gun ownership. One of them, Missouri, passed a law that put a chilling effect on state and local law enforcement from enforcing federal gun laws in Missouri. The Show Me State just got shown that it can’t do that.
Doctors Prescribe Bad Medicine to Address ‘Gun Violence,’ Despite ATF Crime Data
Dozens of hospital and healthcare executives converged on New York City for a conference to discuss their role as “leaders” in reducing the criminal misuse of firearms.
Criminal misuse of firearms isn’t a public health issue nor should it be treated as such. It’s a criminal issue caused by individuals breaking the law. These health professionals should have instead listened closer to the keynote kickoff speaker, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Director Steven Dettelbach’s remarks.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Shows He Has a Firm Grasp of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms [VIDEO]
Last week, Gun Owners of America Florida Director Luis Valdes made news by asking Governor Ron DeSantis if he supports open adding open carry to the permitless concealed carry bills currently moving through the Florida legislature.
Today DeSantis delivered his annual state of the state message and was asked about the open carry in a press conference that followed. As you can see in the video above, he displays a better working knowledge of open carry and permitless concealed carry that most elected officials.
De-Policing Los Angeles: Defunded LAPD Won’t Respond 30 Types of 911 Calls
From the NRA-ILA . . .
Many municipalities being pressured by the progressive left have “defunded the police,” with activists claiming that shrinking “massive” police budgets would actually improve public safety. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), for one, faced budget cuts of $150 million for 2021.
The Los Angeles Police Protective League, a union for the LAPD’s sworn officers, is now proposing that officers stop responding to almost 30 types of 911 requests for assistance, with the calls being handled by other city agencies or affiliated nonprofits.
