The Truth About Guns
Biden’s Interior Dept. Adds Anti-Gun Activist Ryan Busse to Hunting & Wildlife Council
Remember that time the Biden Administration thought they could get away with nominating a paid gun control lobbyist to run the agency that regulates firearms in this country? Someone who had, let’s say, a checkered work history and had openly advocated for banning the most popular rifles in America?
That didn’t work out well for Susan Rice and the rest of the Pennsylvania Avenue crew who command Biden’s War on Guns. David Chipman met fierce opposition, even among some Democrats, and his nomination eventually went down in flames.
FPC Court Victory: Federal Judge Blocks Delaware’s ‘Ghost Gun’ Ban
The Firearm Policy Coalition has a lot of legal actions currently in progress. And on Friday afternoon, they won an important round in a significant case. US District Court Judge Maryellen Norieka issued and order blocking enforcement of Delaware’s ban on ownership and possession of unserialized homemade firearms and unfinished 80% receivers.
No doubt this news will cause Delaware’s big gun control shills to go into vapor lock. At the same time, good guy gun owners will breathe a sigh of relief.

South Texas Hunt With Armasight Contractor Thermal Scopes
This spring I drove down to the very southernmost tip of Texas, nearly to Brownsville to do a little night hunting with Armasight‘s new Contractor thermal scopes. Nighttime hunting is extremely popular in Texas for a few reasons, but regardless of why you’re doing it you’ll be well served by some quality night vision equipment.
Texas is home to dozens of non-native / invasive / pest species of animals, which have different hunting regulations from game animals.

Report: The Postal Service Spied on Attendees of VCDL’s 2021 Lobby Day in Richmond, Virginia
There are apparently still people — some who frequent this web site — who believe that what they say and otherwise communicate online is private. As a former girlfriend’s mother would have said, “Oh, bless their hearts.”
The more cynical among us have assumed for years that the FBI, NSA, CIA and who knows how many other alphabet agencies whose remits include anything they call ‘law enforcement’ or ‘national security’ can and do hoover up information from individuals and groups in the U.S.
Things That Don’t Suck: The ExtraCarry Mag Pouch
Carrying a spare magazine isn’t tough to do, but it can be cumbersome at times. Sometimes the traditional belt-mounted solution is impossible due to how you are dressed. IWB options exist, but I get tired of dealing with an IWB holster, so I don’t want an IWB mag pouch.
There are numerous in-the-pocket options on the market, and I’ve experimented and enjoyed a few. The head honcho at ExtraCarry got in touch and asked if I wanted to give their concealed pocket mag pouch a spin.

Wyoming Shooters Set New ELR Record With a 4.4 Mile Shot
Twenty-four seconds from trigger pull to impact. A downward trajectory of 48 degrees. Hand-lathed custom bullets. Impacts that spotters couldn’t see so had to listen for. That’s what the shooters of the Nomad Rifleman team were dealing with who set a new ELR record with a 4.4 mile rifle shot.
The shooters involved in the effort — which has been in the planning since 2020 — were shooting a custom-built rifle chambered in .416 Barrett.

LAWFARE: Cook County Forest Preserves Threaten to Arrest CCW Holders Legally Carrying Guns
For those new to the gun culture, the Land of Lincoln was the last state in the union to enact a concealed carry law. It only happened after the federal courts ruled Illinois’ prohibition on carry was unconstitutional. And even then, facing a looming court deadline, the Illinois General Assembly waited until the last hours of the last day of the court’s deadline to override a stubborn governor’s veto to approve a new carry law.
Adaptive Defensive Shooting Summit Takes Shooters From ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I Can’

Carey McWilliams has been legally blind since he was 10 years old. He also became the first legally blind person in the United States to obtain a concealed carry permit when he did so in 2000.
Everytown: Colleges Have Too Many Nutjobs, Drunks and Stoners to Allow Anyone to Carry a Gun on Campus
The vast majority of states and colleges prohibit guns from being carried on campus either by law or choice. However, in recent years the gun lobby has pushed legislation to force guns onto college campuses against the wishes of most students, staff, and campus law enforcement. There is no evidence that allowing guns on campuses reduces crime or makes campuses safer. In fact, campuses are already incredibly safe and adding guns to the mix only makes them less so.

Gun Review: Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 637 Revolver
My dad came to me looking for a concealed carry gun. He wanted a small revolver, and he had a number of requirements.
First, he wanted at least a .38 Special +P. Second, he wanted an exposed hammer, and third, he specifically did not want what he called a’ dinky’ little grip.
I translated those requirements to my local FFL, and he said he had the gun for me.
Gear Review: Wheeler F.A.T. Wrench Torque Tool
When I was reviewing Primary Arms’ version of the Holosun 507c (with its much-improved reticle), I realized pretty quickly that I needed to step up my tool game a bit. I know that for parts that move fast, over and over again, sometimes getting the torque on the screws and bolts just right can be critical.
For many other applications, you can just turn a bolt or screw as hard as you can, or try to get the torque on something right by feel.

District Court Judge Rules Gun Ban For Those Under Felony Indictment is Unconstitutional
The Texas case arose out of the conviction of a man who had purchased a gun while under indictment and lied about it during his background check, according to [US District Court Judge David] Counts’ ruling. Last year, while indicted on charges of burglary and missing court dates, Jose Gomez Quiroz tried to buy a semi-automatic pistol at an Alpine store. He denied he was under indictment on his background check form, and, after a seven-day wait for approval, picked up his new gun.

Unfortunately, not even parking lot tamales are safe from The Man anymore. I wonder what Dr Jill Biden has to say about these tamales, other than the fact that they certainly aren’t welcome in Martha’s Vineyard.

Gun Review: FN CC Edge 9mm Pistol
When FN launched the 509 LS Edge about a year and a half ago, they promised it would be the first in a series of new upgraded, premium pistols. Think BMW’s M models or Mercedes’ AMG cars. Better yet, think Smith & Wesson’s Performance Center guns or SIG’s Legion line.
With the recent announcement of the new FN 509 CC Edge, FN’s made good on that promise and a second handgun now officially makes the Edge Series a series.

Twice in a Week: Shots Fired at Chicago Fire Production Set, This Time Someone Was Shot In the Head
Chicago’s Summer of Joy officially ended with the Labor Day weekend, but the gangs continue to ply their trade with impunity and indifference to the police, innocent lives and the rule of law. Last week, in front of six Chicago Police squad cars, someone opened up on another group of people adjacent to the production set of the Chicago Fire TV show. Thankfully, no one was hit.
Yesterday, the production experienced another instance of gunfire on the Chicago Fire set.
