UPS Institutes Strict New Rules for Shipping Firearms After Pressure From Anti-Gun Senators

Thu, 09/01/2022 - 14:00

By Lee Williams

UPS has released strict new rules for shipping firearms just months after cancelling some gun dealers accounts and destroying packages in transit.

The new rules came in response to a letter sent by five anti-gun senators, who blamed UPS and 27 other carriers for escalating violent crime rates.

The rules are contained in three documents: A shipping agreement between UPS and a licensed firearm dealer, the new 2022 UPS Tariff/Terms & Conditions of Service, and UPS’s How to Ship Firearms” webpage.

Biden Adds To His Ever-Growing List of Lies, Threats as He Continues His Push Against Gun Rights

Thu, 09/01/2022 - 12:00

President Joe Biden is at it again. He’s throwing out wild and unfounded lies to scare Americans into supporting his push for an unconstitutional ban on modern sporting rifles (MSRs). If that’s not outlandish enough, he continues to antagonize and threaten war against American citizens simply for exercising their Constitutionally-protected rights.

As the president likes to say, “I’m not joking.”

His latest claim was yet another attempt to malign and villainize MSRs.

California Births a New Kind of Threat to Second Amendment Rights

Thu, 09/01/2022 - 10:00

By Alan Gottlieb and Dave Workman

In the wake of another Supreme Court ruling that strengthens and more clearly defines Second Amendment protections, anti-gun politicians have developed yet another way to threaten those rights, along with rights protected by the First Amendment in an effort to silence gun owners and penalize them for fighting back.

In California, where such strategies are typically developed and then spread across the map, this plan of attack is already in progress.

SAF, Defense Distributed Sue California to Block Homemade Firearm Ban

Thu, 09/01/2022 - 09:00

From the Second Amendment Foundation . . .

The Second Amendment Foundation is seeking a federal court injunction against enforcement of a California law restricting people from manufacturing their own firearms, which is an American tradition dating back to colonial times, and another statute written to discourage court challenges.

Joining SAF is Defense Distributed, a Texas-based company that sells a product called the “Ghost Gunner,” a general-purpose Computerized Numerical Code (CNC) milling machine that allows a home gunsmith to complete unfinished frames and receivers for various types of firearms, including the AR-15, AR-308, M1911 and AK-47.

Thu, 09/01/2022 - 08:00

A measure that would have enacted more than three dozen new restrictions [on concealed carry in California] failed by one vote as lawmakers adjourned. Democratic Sen. Anthony Portantino, who pushed for the bill along with Attorney General Rob Bonta, promised to reintroduce the legislation on the day lawmakers reconvene in December after the November election.

“California was made less safe tonight by not passing the bill to make us consistent with the Supreme Court’s decision,” Portantino said.

THIS WILL WORK…WE PROMISE: New York City Posts ‘Gun-Free Zone’ Signs Around Times Square

Wed, 08/31/2022 - 10:00

The city and state of New York continue to thumb their noses at the US Supreme Court’s Bruen decision, expanding the number of prohibited “sensitive” locations and generally ignoring the rule of law.

On Tuesday, the NYPD’s top legal eagle showed off the Big Apple’s new “Gun Free Zone” sign that the city’s galaxy brains dreamed up to ensure that no one carries a firearm where the city prohibits it. Because “gun-free zone” signs have worked so well in the past.

Geraghty: It’s Getting Hard to Tell Which Side Wants a Civil War More

Tue, 08/30/2022 - 08:00

Those who vote for the opposition are American citizens. They’re moms and dads and grandparents and brothers and sisters. In many cases, members of the same family, neighborhood, groups of friends, and teammates don’t vote the same. You don’t have to like them, and you don’t have to agree with them. But you must respect them as fellow citizens because they have the same rights that you do. Your political beliefs don’t elevate you to some higher plane of consciousness or more advanced state of humanity.

Passively Constructed Negligent Discharge Story of the Day: FBI Agent Shoots Himself in a Philladelphia Courthouse

Mon, 08/29/2022 - 15:00

Ah yes. Another gun that somehow “went off.” As the local yokels who toil in Philly’s media milieu put it, FBI agent shot in leg when weapon accidentally discharges at Philadelphia courthouse. We’d title that story a little differently in the interest of accuracy. Something like, ‘FBI agent wounded after negligent discharge in Philly courthouse.’

Anyway, the feds’ finest continue to shower themselves in glory. As Philadelphia’s local ABC affiliate phrases it .

Remington Updates a Classic With the New Remington 700 Alpha 1 [VIDEO]

Mon, 08/29/2022 - 12:00

When you think of Remington, a few models come immediately to mind. Along with the 870 and 1100 shotguns, maybe the first gun you think of is the venerable Model 700 rifle. First made back in 1962, tens of millions of Model 700 bolt action rifles have been bought and used by hunters, target shooters, police and the military.

After the bankruptcy and dissolution of the old Remington, the first thing most gun owners wanted to see the new RemArms (the company now making Remington firearms) do is to turn out those very popular classics once again, making them with the build quality and tolerances generations of hunters and shooters had known and loved.

NY Legislators Want to Force Credit Card Companies to Track and Report Gun Purchases

Mon, 08/29/2022 - 08:00

Credit card companies track spending based on the type of retailer where a card is used — though they do not track the individual items that are purchased. Each purchase is tagged with what’s called a merchant category code, with the master list set by an international standards body. Some categories are fairly broad, such as those for grocery stores and airlines, while others are quite specific. There are unique codes for tent and awning shops, wig and toupee stores — even separate categories for antique shops, secondhand stores and pawn shops.

YouTube Training: Putting Good Data On Your ‘Mental Hard Drive’ Could Save Your Life

Sun, 08/28/2022 - 13:00

No matter how good you are on the range, it doesn’t replicate the conditions you’d face if someone was really trying to kill you. Adrenaline, faster heart rate, the complex environment of the real world, and the fact that the target isn’t made of paper, steel, or gel (and may be shooting back) all add up to reduced accuracy.

You can partially make up for this by practicing with a high heart rate (doing things like running with sandbags), or by using something non-lethal, but still painful to train against others, like Simunitions or some training simulators.

Constitutional Carry Should be the Rule, Not the Exception

Sun, 08/28/2022 - 10:00

Constitutional and permitless carry are divisive topics among not only the general population, but gun owners as well. Some feel that if we allow anyone to carry a gun without a permit, the nation will turn into a cliché version of the Wild West, with blood running in the streets.

Curiously, most detractors are left stuttering when questioned how permit requirements stop hardened criminals from breaking the law.

As of this writing, half of the states in the union have some form of permitless or constitutional carry, with the nation being no more bloody than it was before.
