Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Lo and behold, someone at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office photographed jolly old St. Nick getting his carry license. However, learning of Santa’s newly enhanced defensive capabilities has caused some delicate little snowflakes to melt down in a fit of fist-clenching rage.
Santa Claus carries a lot of expensive toys on his way to all the good boys and girls the world over. As such, he’s a tempting target for ethically-challenged bad guys out there.

Oops: Bloomberg News Anti-Gun Editorial Makes the Case for ‘Shall Issue’ Carry Permits
A nationally syndicated editorial attempted to persuade readers on the merits of New York’s problematic “may issue” handgun permit law and why the U.S. Supreme Court should leave it intact. But they made a better case for why the law should be struck down.
The Supreme Court recently heard oral arguments in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen and their decision will likely come at the end of the current term.

Gun Meme of the Day: Bless His Heart Edition
Beto doesn’t know what he doesn’t know. And most of what he thinks he knows just ain’t true.
What he doesn’t know is that the majority of Texans don’t like him or what he’s selling. They’ve told him that repeatedly.
What he thinks he knows is that he’s popular enough in an allegedly charming, pseudo-Kennedyesque way that Texas will overlook his unseemly enthusiasm for grabbing their firearms.

Detroit Free Press: To Be Safe, We Must Ban Guns In Schools, Churches and Daycares
The Detroit Free Press, a slowly sinking dead tree publication, did a little dancing in the blood of murdered and maimed school kids from Oxford, Michigan in the aftermath of the failure of the local school to remove a student who had all but begged for for help. Instead of attacking the failures of government officials to protect their charges in the school, the paper’s editorial board blames…gun owners.
The Freep’s galaxy brains studiously ignore mountains of evidence of the proven benefits of firearm ownership including millions of defensive gun uses each year.

ATF eForm 4s Are Back, Baby!
ATF eForms allows electronic filing of various forms related to NFA items (silencers, short barreled rifles and shotguns, etc.), but the Form 4, the form required for an individual to purchase an NFA item and the only one that nearly everyone reading this cares about, has not been available on eForms (except for briefly during 2013). The biggest advantage to e-filing is a significant reduction in wait time from filing to approval.
According a letter from the ATF, beginning sometime between December 15th and December 28th, 2021 (as in, this month), eForm 4s will be back.

Can You ID the Guns in the Massie Family Christmas Photo?
Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie sent out his family Christmas card Friday and it has provoked OUTRAGE amongst all of the usual suspects. Rep. This Guy Gets Paid to Shoot (Near) Birds Every Day [VIDEO]
When ground water collected in a old open pit copper mine near Butte, Montana, it created a toxic lake. The sulfuric acid-laced water that resulted is dangerous to migratory birds.
That’s why, for the last thirty years, “waterfowl protection specialists” have been employted to scare the birds away. They use everything from sirens, lasers, propane cannons, drones (both flying and floating) and even fireworks to shoo the birds if and when they land in the water.

Listen: Unhinged NYT Journalist’s Foulmouthed Voicemail for Great Lakes Gun Rights
Hi, I’m a journalist with the New York Times. I’m just calling to wonder…I have two questions. How do you sleep at night? And aren’t you just like a little bit worried that there might be a hell and when you meet God he will send you there?
That’s just my only question.
Third question. The only people politicizing this seems to be you because you’re the only people I got a f@cking press release from.

Sixth Circuit Deadlock Leaves Trump Bump Stock Ban in Place
If only someone could have foreseen that using regulatory fiat to magically declare that a bump stock is the same as a machine gun could prove to be problematic. A Sixth Circuit en banc panel has deadlocked 8-8 in the case of Gun Owners of America v. Garland. The tie vote leaves the lower court ruling — which upheld the ATF’s ban — in place.
