The Iron Pipeline Is So Last Week…The New Anti-Gun Hotness Is ‘Ghost Guns’

Fri, 04/01/2022 - 08:00

Those of us who worry about gun proliferation used to obsess about “the iron pipeline,” a.k.a. I-95, along which weapons were ferried from Southern states where they were easy to purchase to Northern destinations where they could be sold for a very tidy profit.

Now shipping through the iron pipeline is sort of like keeping in touch with all your friends and family by writing lovely letters on your personal stationery and taking them to the post office to buy stamps and put them in the mail.

Training: Don’t Limit Yourself to CCW Qualifier Distances At The Range

Thu, 03/31/2022 - 16:00

It’s hard to imagine now, but a mere twenty years or so ago, most U.S. states didn’t allow any form of concealed carry. First a few states began issuing permits, then a few more, and then the dam broke.

Now, a wave of constitutional carry has moved across the country. But the interaction between regulation and technology isn’t one-way. Concealed carry was a response to good people wanting to carry guns. And as concealed carry became more popular, the guns changed to fit the needs of people who went out and got the permits.

Gun Control Only Disarms Victims, Not Criminals: 20 Dead in Michoacan, Mexico Massacre

Thu, 03/31/2022 - 14:00

What happens when government bans civilian possession of firearms for self-defense for law-abiding citizens? We need to look no further for an answer than south of the Rio Grande. When bad men with evil in their hearts showed up Sunday night at a cockfight in a small town in Michoacan, Mexico, with no good guys with guns to stop them, it became a bloodbath.  In the end 20 were killed and more wounded.

Sixteen men and three women were found dead at the scene and another died on the way to the hospital.

Economic Data Reveal a Healthy, Growing Firearm Industry Despite the Biden Administration’s Best Efforts

Thu, 03/31/2022 - 12:00

You wouldn’t think the Biden administration would want to attack a thriving domestic manufacturing industry that employs 375,000 people and generated over $70 billion of economic activity last year. Those are two of the top-line numbers from the latest analysis of America’s firearm industry by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

Then again, domestic oil and gas production employs over 10 million people and represents about 8% of the entire U.S. economy.

OkCupid Users Say Climate Change Skepticism – Not Gun Ownership – Is Their #1 Dealbreaker

Thu, 03/31/2022 - 10:00

Good news for gun-owning singles using dating apps to find their mates. Or a hookup.  Dating app OKCupid reports that a survey of their users shows gun ownership isn’t the biggest dealbreaker among prospective daters. In fact, guns apparently didn’t even come close. Instead, 90% of that company’s open-minded (cough) users view those who are skeptical about “climate change” as those most unsuitable for communication, much less dating.

Diversity and inclusion is our strength.

New York Mayor Eric Adams Wants to Make Bad Guys Too Uncomfortable to Carry Guns

Thu, 03/31/2022 - 08:00

“This is my number one priority: Keeping you safe. I campaigned on it, I will deliver on it,” [New York Mayor Eric] Adams said back in January. “You have my word.”

That’s what the mayor had to say when he first announced the plan, which includes Neighborhood Safety Teams. These units put unmarked cars with police lights and 200 officers in less official looking uniforms on the streets of 30 precincts, where police say 80% of gun violence occurs.

Gun Review: SIG SAUER P365-380 .380 ACP Pistol

Wed, 03/30/2022 - 16:00

When SIG SAUER released the 9mm P365, it shook the gun world. Suddenly sub-compact-like capacity was now available in micro-compact single-stack-like size. While slightly thicker than the pocket 9mm pistols and single-stacks of previous concealment kings, the tiny new micro-compacts weren’t always the most pleasant pistols to shoot on the range.

With SIG offering the now-venerable P365 chambered in tamer .380 ACP, there’s a good chance range pleasantness will increase.

The P365’s slight extra width (at a mere 1 inch wide, it’s still thin) certainly helps by adding surface area to grip and disperse recoil, tiny pistols have never been fun to shoot.

March is Women’s History Month and there’s no better opportunity to celebrate the contributions American women make to the firearm and ammunition industry – past, present and future.

Security Camera Captures Gun Store Owner Opening Fire On Thieves Who Came in Shooting [VIDEO]

Wed, 03/30/2022 - 14:02

Firearm trainers typically tell their students never try to draw down on a bad guy when his or her gun is pointed at you. However, all of that goes out the window when the criminal has already opened fire. That’s exactly what happened in a Paraguay gun store last month as a pair of armed robbers stormed in, guns a-blazing.

With one robber shooting at him, the owner had no choice to but draw and engage.

While Chicagoans Live With Fewer Cops & More Crime, Mayor Lightfoot Has a 90-Person Security Detail

Tue, 03/29/2022 - 14:30

Chicago’s famously inept Mayor Lori Lightfoot, an advocate of defunding the police and a critic of law enforcement and gun rights for law-abiding civilians, sure likes to feel safe and secure. She has presidential-level security detail of 90 police officers to protecting her and her family. That’s almost 1% of the total number of sworn officers in the city…dedicated to protecting her.

Is it any wonder that crime and gang violence have spiraled out of control under her so-called “leadership”?

When Doctors Practice Politics Instead of Medicine

Tue, 03/29/2022 - 12:00

By Robert B. Young, MD

There is a constant stream of articles coming from establishment medicine “experts” that denigrate our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms along with the individual focus our patients deserve in order to be protected from social priorities that would override that.

One that’s received a fair amount of press was an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times by an emergency physician in San Luis Obispo, California, Steven Sainsbury.
