New From SilencerCo: Hybrid 46M Modular Large Bore Suppressor
We all know and love the SilencerCo 36M, but now the Utah company has taken the do-it-all suppressor a step further with the release of the Hybrid 46M. In effect, if it fires a .46 caliber or smaller diameter bullet, the 46M has you covered. Full TTAG review and video are currently in production, but suffice it to say that testing went well.
In the meantime, as 46Ms make their way to Silencer Shop where, as always, you’ll find the best prices and the easiest silencer-purchasing process in the country, here’s SilencerCo’s press release on the launch of the Hybrid 46M .
City Officials Can Only Preach More Gun Control to Do Something About Soaring Violent Crime
What sort of gun laws might [St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter] have in mind? In February last year, the Star Tribune reported:
“Democrats and gun control advocates have spent years pushing for a bill to expand criminal background checks to cover most private firearms transfers, as well as for a second bill enacting a “red flag” law to let courts temporarily remove guns from people deemed a threat to themselves or others.
Gun Meme of the Day: Winter Carry Edition
Indeed. I often switch from IWB to OWB when cool weather clothing becomes viable. That frequently includes a bump up in gun size, too. Love it.

BREAKING: SIG SAUER Will Not Exhibit at SHOT Show 2022
It’s been a difficult year-plus for the meeting and convention business, to say the least. The NRA recently cancelled its second consecutive annual meeting and exhibits and the 2021 SHOT Show was a Covid casualty as well. That said, the recent USCCA Expo in Fort Worth was well relatively attended.
However, in a move that casts an undeniable cloud over the prospects of the 2022 SHOT Show, SIG SAUER has decided that it will not be an exhibitor at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas in January.

Gun Review: Ruger LCP MAX .380 Pistol
Gun makers keep setting the bar higher and higher for new product development. Everyone wants a small and light carry gun, with a good trigger, good sights and decent capacity. And if it shoots well and comfortably on top of that, that’s just a bonus, right?
Sound familiar? I wrote most of the above about the ultra-popular SIG P365 back in 2018 in a review here.
I’ve got good news for you, ladies and gents.

Pro Tip: Don’t Fire Warning Shots While Standing Naked On Your Front Porch…Or Anywhere Else [VIDEO]
Meat magnate Evan Wexler is a car guy. He owns a number of very expensive automobiles and his collection has made his Fort Lee, New Jersey home a target for thieves. He says his home has been targeted 25 times since 2019.
Earlier this year, he heard someone trying to break into his Mercedes G-Wagon that was parked in front of his house. Thieves have used that strategy before to get access to the other exotic cars on the premises.
Burglars Caught At Gunpoint: A First-Person Account
Last week, outside a (very) small town in rural northern Illinois, sophisticated game cameras caught a pair of alleged burglars snooping around a farmhouse. Two card-carrying good guys went to investigate, and eventually held a cagey duo at gunpoint for police. Kyle Smith and Dakota Luttrell were arrested.
WSPL radio had the story…
Two men were arrested after a call came in around 7 PM Tuesday for an alleged burglary in progress on a farm in rural Earlville.

Gear Review: Crimson Trace CTS-1400 Compact Red Dot Sight
Crimson Trace dived into the optics market pretty hardcore. Everything from red dots and prisms to variable optics. I’ve already reviewed one Crimson Trace optic, and they decided to send me another. The CTS-1400 is a fair bit different and is kind of of an odd duck. It’s a big open sight designed for long guns.
When I first got the CTS-1400, I looked around to see what ‘footprint’ the optic uses. I hadn’t even opened the box yet, but wanted to figure what handgun I could mount it to.

Homeowner Shot By Police Going After Prowlers With a ‘Replica’ 1911 [VIDEO]
Charles Sharp, 49, called 911 to report “intruders” on his property in Mantua Township, New Jersey back on September 14th. Despite his last name, he did just about everything wrong before and during his 911 call. His life ended as he traipsed towards police, in the dark, carrying a replica .45 pistol in his hand.
Sharp told dispatchers that he saw two men (and later a “girl”) prowling around in his back yard, one of which, he said, had a gun.
JOHN LOTT: Concealed Carry Licenses Jump 10.5% in 2020, 8.3% of Adults Now Have Carry Permits
Bad guys, listen up: John Lott has released a new report outlining the state of legal concealed carry in America. In it, he reveals a staggering 10.5% increase in carry licenses despite (because of?) COVID restrictions. Today, more than 8% of adult Americans have a license to carry a firearm. That number is 10% outside of restrictive, may-issue states.
The good people of Alabama are not only friendly, but they’re also well-fixed when it comes to packing heat.
FFP, SFP, WTF? Whats the Difference Between First Focal Plane vs Second Focal Plane Scopes?
By Pete Nealen
There are a lot of optics on the market now, more than ever before — and mostly better than before. From red dots to prism scopes and low power variables to high-power long-range scopes, technology, and design innovation steadily expand the pool of options. As a result, there’s something for just about every task and budget out there. One choice to make when selecting an optic is that of FFP vs SFP: First Focal Plane vs Second Focal Plane.
Accused Arlington, Texas School Shooter Parties After Being Released on $75,000 Bond
Not even two days after allegedly pulling a gun and shooting three people at an Arlington, Texas high school, Timothy Simpkins posted bond Thursday. He then partied it up at his home. As for his victims? Two remained in the hospital, one in critical condition.
How is it that in Texas, of all places, an accused would-be mass murderer gets to stroll out of jail with a feces-eating grin on his face a day later and then party like rock star back at home?
Liberal Interest Groups Split on the Supreme Court’s Upcoming New York Concealed Carry Case
On one side is the American Civil Liberties Union and its New York state counterpart, which contend that the state law is justified to protect First Amendment rights in the public sphere. On the other side are a coalition of New York–based public defender groups who contend that the law actually gives cops a license to discriminate and harm indigent and minority New Yorkers who try to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

Four Northeastern State Governors Announce Agreement to Share Crime Gun Data
“’Despite our best gun safety laws, we have more damn guns on the street than we ever had before,’ Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said in an online announcement with the other three states. ‘And if you’re not taking guns seriously, you’re not taking law and order seriously.’”
So says one of the four northeastern governors who announced yesterday that their states will share crime gun data amongst themselves.
Citadel Hedge Fund Founder: ‘Chicago Is Like Afghanistan On a Good Day, and That’s a Problem’
In recent days, Chicago has taken a series of bad news gut punches in the national media. Alongside the revelation that Cook County Prosecutor Kim Foxx refused to charge five gang members caught on video in a massive, deadly gun battle, news came of the Chicago Bears taking steps to leave the city for safer Arlington Heights. Finally one of the city’s most prominent business owners hinted he may move his company because of the insane violent crime.
Yamane: Lots of America’s New Gun Owners Won’t Necessarily Want to Identify as ‘Gun Owners’
Many times people ask me, “Are you a golfer?” And my typical response is, “No, but I play golf.” To embrace the identity of ‘golfer’ is to take on some attributes that I really don’t want to take on. It sort of raises certain expectations for me when I get on the golf course.
In the same way, being a person who owns a gun does not automatically make someone a ‘gun owner’ in terms of their identity.
