Gun Review: Adams Arms AA19 9mm Pistol

Thu, 10/28/2021 - 12:00

Man, since 2019, the rise of the GLOCK clone has really accelerated. The GLOCK 19 in particular seems to be the number one cloned pistol in the series. We have lots of options now, priced both high and low.

On the low end, PSA produces the Dagger. On the high end, we have guns like those from Zev. And in the still affordable middle is the Adams Arms AA19. Adams Arms is mainly known for being an AR manufacturer.

The Atlantic: Exercising Second Amendment Rights Threatens Free Speech

Thu, 10/28/2021 - 08:00

Many Americans fervently believe that the Second Amendment protects their right to bear arms everywhere, including at public protests. Many Americans also believe that the First Amendment protects their right to speak freely and participate in political protest. What most people do not realize is that the Second Amendment has become, in recent years, a threat to the First Amendment. People cannot freely exercise their speech rights when they fear for their lives.

This is not hyperbole.

NRA Hacked: Russian Group Releases Some Documents, Promises More Unless They’re Paid

Wed, 10/27/2021 - 20:51

As if the National Rifle Association doesn’t have enough problems, a Russian hacker group has allegedly penetrated the association’s systems and stolen some documents, possibly including emails. They have published a handful of them, primarily innocuous grant-related documents. Unless the NRA coughs up a ransom payment, the group says they will release more.

NBC News has fessed up to downloading the allegedly purloined files from the nation’s oldest civil rights organization. So far, it sounds like all the hackers have gotten their hands on is some pretty mundane stuff.

Missouri Successfully Completes Its First Black Bear Hunting Season

Wed, 10/27/2021 - 16:00

By Larry Keane

Missouri hunters wrapped up their first ever black bear hunting season, a sign of successful conservation and wildlife management.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) approved the inaugural 10-day black bear hunting season and all early signs point to the tags getting quickly filled. The black bear population is healthy and the hunting season only lasts 10 days, ending Oct. 28.

Following the Science

Black bears were almost non-existent in the 1800s in Missouri but their numbers have continually crept up, with bears migrating from Arkansas.

Tennessee Congressman Steve Cohen is a Lying Liar Who Lies About Defensive Gun Uses

Wed, 10/27/2021 - 14:00

Who are you gonna believe…me or your lying eyes? That is, in effect, the narrative relentlessly pushed by the anti-gun rights left in this country. That’s nothing new, of course, but after 18 months of blistering gun sales and rising violent crime, the firearm prohibitionists, their media stenographers, and the politicians who share their goal of civilian disarmament are getting a little panicky.

Take, for instance, this recent assertion by Tennessee Rep.

Gear Review: The TOPS Knives Tom Brown Tracker #1 Fixed Blade Knife

Wed, 10/27/2021 - 12:00

I do a little work in Idaho and a whole lot of hunting there, too. About a year ago I stopped by Tops Knives to pick their brains, and pick up a Tom Brown Tracker.

I like big knives. Big knives like bowies or those simple blade shapes common among the early Quebecois traders and North American mountain men. The Tom Brown Tracker knife is surprisingly modern, complex, and frankly I thought it was too specialized to work as intended.

Caregivers Are Often the Disabled’s First and Only Line of Defense

Tue, 10/26/2021 - 16:00

By Peter Rosenberger

An intruder recently received swift justice after breaking into an Atlanta home and threatening the occupant with knives. The homeowner produced a gun and shot the intruder, who had picked the wrong house and the wrong weapons. Even President Obama once opined on inadvisability of bringing a knife to a gunfight.

While home invasions and violent crime certainly seem commonplace in the dystopia that leftists seem eager to create, this incident had a different variable: a resident in the home who was confined to a wheelchair.

Man Selling Xbox in Online Transaction Shoots Armed Pair Who Tried To Rob Him

Tue, 10/26/2021 - 16:00

What happens when you arrange to meet up with someone after midnight to sell some merchandise from a Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist ad? Nothing good, usually. Such was the case in Chicago when an unnamed 29-year-old tried to sell his Xbox. At 1 a.m. Saturday. In northwest Chicago.

The prospective buyers, aged 15 and 19, turned into armed robbers as one produced a firearm while the other snatched the game console from the seller’s hands.

What do you do with that Ruger 10/22 rifle that’s been sitting in the back of your safe? One way to give it possibilities beyond the standard stock configuration is with an aftermarket chassis. TiTech Arms (formerly RTI Manufacturing) gives you two options.

Their 1022 Chassis Rail comes in two flavors. One has an AR buffer tube to let you mount an AR stock. The other model — the one I chose — has a rear Pic rail.

San Francisco’s Assault on Law Enforcement Forces More Than 100 Families to Hire Private Security

Tue, 10/26/2021 - 10:00

Policing and law enforcement have been under attack for the last year and a half. Calls to “defund the police” are becoming a reality and the average citizen is ultimately paying the price.

Insert San Francisco, one of the epicenters of the “defund the police” movement. Not only are more officers retiring or resigning, meaning fewer cops on the street, but SF District Attorney Chesa Boudin refuses to prosecute most criminals.

In a horrendous accident, a cinematographer has died and a director has been injured after Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun while filming in New Mexico.

When shooting a film with guns, there are many choices to make: each prop needs to be appropriate for the character, and appropriate for the scene. There is also the choice of whether you will use replica weapons, real weapons, or a mix.
