The Federal Government Shouldn’t Be Involved in Gun Laws
I don’t normally agree much with Jeb Bush, but in this instance, he got things right.
...Diametrically Opposed Views
The father of slain TV reporter Alison Parker says he thinks he will have to buy a gun now that he has decided to be an outspoken advocate for tougher gun laws.
Adam Parker made the remarks Friday outside the station where his daughter worked. He said he currently doesn’t own a gun, but believes he will now have to buy one because his mission will be tougher gun laws.
2016 Magpul Calendar Photoshoot
It’s that time of year again. We loaded up the cars, bikes, and guns and headed a few hours north to Dallas. Once there, we met up with an all-star cast of some of the most beautiful women on the planet and put together a calendar that may just be our best one yet. The Texas sun was unforgivingly hot, but we think you’ll agree that the images that Dixie Dixon captured for us were even more so. The on-set work is all wrapped up, and now we’re working on choosing the best shots and formatting to finish out our 2016 calendar. While you’re waiting for the finished product, here’s a short look at what it took to get the shots and a sneak preview at the amazing girls who will grace the pages.

What Your NRA Decal Says About You
I don’t even know where to begin. This strikes me as written by someone out of touch with reality, blindly believing every bit of rhetoric presented to him. I feel sorry for the man that wrote these words.

...The Lessons From The VA Reporter Murders
I agree with these three lessons, especially the first.
Lesson #1: Situational awareness is key to safety.
Lesson #2: Get armed. Get trained. Carry daily. We don’t know when tragedy will strike next.
Lesson #3: The media & the liberals will always blame the gun to advance their gun control agenda.

Permits Up 300%, Crime Virtually Nonexistant
Rebel Mississippi notes that once again, more guns = less crime.
When the state of Minnesota passed a permit-to-carry law in 2003, gun control advocates said it would lead to increased violence and mayhem.
Today, more people in Minnesota have permits than ever before – yet gun violence involving permit-holders remains virtually nonexistent.
The total number of active permits in Minnesota has gone up every year since the permit law passed in 2003, growing from less than 50,000 to more than 200,000 this year, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Since then, examples of violence involving permit-holders have been few and far between. There have been just five deadly incidents involving permit-holders in the past five years, none of which resulted in criminal charges. Overall, gun crimes involving permit owners fell by half between 2013 and 2014.

RECALL: Savage Arms B.MAG Bolt (17 WSM)
Savage Arms has discovered that the bolt on some B.MAG rifles may inadvertently catch the safety button and slide it forward into the “fire” position. This condition is primarily present if downward pressure is applied to the bolt too early while pushing it forward. While Savage has received no reports of accidents due to this condition, we have decided to offer free retrofits of all B.MAG rifle bolts out of an abundance of caution and in our ongoing commitment to quality and safety.
To avoid possible unintentional discharge or injury, do not use your B.MAG rifle until your bolt has been retrofitted with a new bolt handle and cap. For instructions on receiving your free bolt retrofit, visit http://www.savagearms.com/recall/bmagbolt/. For other questions related to this bolt recall, call us at 844-784-3301 Monday through Friday 8am to 10pm EST. This retrofit only applies to Savage B.MAG rifle bolts.
The bolt retrofit includes the replacement of the existing bolt handle and bolt cap with a revised bolt handle and bolt cap.

Guns vs. Armor; What You Need to Protect Yourself
Bullet proof vests cannot completely guarantee protection against a bullet; some instead refer to them as bullet resistant vests. This is compounded by the fact that there are multiple levels of protection available in bullet proof vests, utilising different materials like Kevlar. It is important to know what types of ammunition a vest is capable of protecting you against. Below is a list of some of the most types of bullet, as well as the weapons they might be used in, and what protection you need for each.
...House Advances Amendment To Sell Milsurp 1911s Through CMP
An add-on to the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act that passed committee includes a plan to transfer the U.S. Army’s remaining stock of .45 ACP 1911A1 pistols to the Civilian Marksmanship Program.
Added as an amendment by Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Alabama, while the NDAA was in debate in the House Armed Service Committee, it could see potentially the largest remaining stock of military surplus World War II-era handguns in government hands sold to the public.
“As a gun owner and strong believer in the Second Amendment, my proposal is a common-sense approach to eliminating an unnecessary cost to the Federal government while allowing the very capable CMP to handle the sale of these vintage firearms that otherwise would just sit in storage,” Rogers said in a statement.
