Hawaian Cop has Gun Accident in Bathroom

Wed, 09/10/2014 - 18:57

Hawaii is anti-gun and anti-concealed carry, so this story makes me smile.

An off-duty Honolulu police officer alleges he accidentally fired his gun while he was in the bathroom of a Target store on Saturday.

According to KHON, the officer took the Glock out of the holster, put it on the toilet paper dispenser, and accidentally shot it when he went to pick it up.

No one was injured, but the bullet ricocheted off the stall and into the wall of another stall. It’s unknown if anyone else was in the bathroom at the time, but the noise startled shoppers in the store.

The Honolulu Police Department is investigating the incident. This is the third time in the past month that a Honolulu police officer has accidentally fired his gun. In August, an officer died after an accidental shooting during a barbecue. The other incident occurred during an arrest, but no one was hurt.

Thief Steals Safe with $10,000 in Guns

Get a safe, lock up your guns, well, here’s what you get when you do:

RALEIGH — A Raleigh man is accused of stealing $10,000 worth of guns from a home on Rock Drive in eastern Raleigh.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office suspects Steven Richard Bullock, 27, broke into the building on Tuesday and took a Winchester knife, $34.61 in cash and a gun safe containing the weapons, an arrest warrant states.

Public records did not make clear the number or type of weapons reported taken, or whether they were recovered. Bullock was arrested the same day as the reported crime, according to the arrest warrant.

Bullock, described in county records as an employee of Macaroni Grill, also is accused of concealing a Taser with a flashlight, an arrest warrant states. He was arrested near the intersection of Poole Road and the Neuse River Greenway Trail in Raleigh at about 12:30 p.m., according to county records.

Bullock, of 727 S. State St., was held Tuesday at the Wake County Detention Center on $170,00 bond. He faces felony charges of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, and a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

Pistorius gun culture?

A liberal Guardian writer wonders why the Pistorius trial has gotten more attention than Mandela’s funeral, and he reaches an interesting insight:

Observers have tried to suggest so-called gun culture was partly responsible for the death of Steenkamp. But if you study the statistics, South

It’s hard to feel sympathy for those who blame inanimate objects for human actions:

The lawsuit filed by Lynsay Fox alleges that In Site Firearms and Law Enforcement Supplies knew or should have known that Michael Henry, the man who bought the gun that killed Bradley Fox, was purchasing the gun for someone else and that there was an “unreasonable and foreseeable risk” that the handgun would be used to cause harm.

Canadian Soldier Arrested for Arms Dealing

“Only the police and the military should be trusted with weapons,” they like to tell us. This story proves them wrong:

Pte. David Theriault, 36, an air force technician, sat in the prisoner’s box in handcuffs with a French interpreter at his side while his case was adjourned by his lawyer.

College instructor accidentally shot by concealed carrier in class

Wed, 09/03/2014 - 20:20

This is the one bad incident liberals will use to demonize the 2nd Amendment. I’m only sharing for your awareness.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho State University instructor was wounded in the foot after a concealed handgun in the person’s pocket discharged during a chemistry lab session with students in the room, school officials said.

Arriving Pocatello police officers found the instructor on Tuesday in the Physical Science Complex with a non-life threatening injury.

The person was treated and released at Portneuf Medical Center, police Lt. Paul Manning said. No other injuries were reported.

Police said the person had the proper permits to carry a concealed weapon on campus.

Idaho State University spokeswoman Adrienne King said the school is not releasing the name of the instructor because the matter is a personnel issue. Police also refused to release the name.

King said there could be an administrative review after police complete their investigation.

The chemistry lab has 19 registered students, but it wasn’t clear how many were in the lab at the time the gun discharged, King said.

King said the school has an alert system but didn’t use it because police quickly determined the shooting was an isolated incident.
