Armed Suspect Shoots 3 People, Concealed Carrier Shoots And Successfully Stops Suspect

Sun, 08/11/2019 - 15:32

DETROIT, MICHIGAN — An armed citizen drew his firearm and shot a suspect who police say had just shot three people. The incident began over the results of a dice game, and the concealed carrier likely saved lives.

An argument broke out after a dice game in the area of Seven Mile and Harlow streets on the city’s west side, at about 8:45 p.m.

Three of the victims, 18, 23 and 24 years old, were hospitalized in temporary serious condition. The condition of a fourth victim, 61 years old, is unknown.

The injured suspect was arrested by police and taken into custody.

News reports did not mention if the concealed carrier was a passerby or was a part of the group of people involved in the incident.

Police are still investigating, but it doesn’t seem that this armed citizen will be facing any charges related to the self-defense shooting.

[VIDEO] Armed Robbers Unknowingly Choose Well-Known Competitive Shooter As Their Target. HUGE Mistake.

Sat, 08/10/2019 - 12:37

Talk about bad luck for the bad guys, and talk about excellent preparedness for the good guy.

A group of armed thugs drove around the block a few times after a man had parked his car on the street outside a house. One the third time around the block, they make their move.

They pull up and immediately draw at least one gun on him. What they didn’t know, however, is that their target is a firearms instructor for the police and an IPSC competitive shooter.

To say the least, he sprung into defensive mode rather quickly. He got shots on 2 of the 3 targets, and you can imagine that they took off in a hurry. They were all eventually caught and face significant charges.

[VIDEO] Armed Robber Has No Idea Armed Resistance Is Right Next To Him

Wed, 08/07/2019 - 14:59

When an armed robber busts into a place, they usually aren’t paying a whole lot of attention to what’s going on around them. Their goal is to get in and get out as quickly as possible.

This guy, the lunatic with the mask, throws a bullet to his left in order to make his presence and intentions known. What he didn’t know, however, was that a uniformed off-duty police officer was sitting in the direction that he fired his careless shot.

Still having no idea that the officer is there, he likely didn’t see what happened next coming.

Luckily, no one else was injured during this incident. The response from the off-duty officer was as precise as you can get, and he did a fantastic job with eliminating this deadly threat.

*GRAPHIC* This Video Is All About Situational Awareness, So You Don’t End Up Under A Truck Like This Guy

Mon, 07/22/2019 - 19:45

Whether you carry a firearm or not, being aware of your surroundings is something that we should all do. Keep that head moving, scanning and paying attention to the things going on around you.

An aggressive man on the street was making motions towards people passing by, and in the last encounter actually pushed a man into the road. That’s not the worst of it, as when the man hit the pavement, a semi-truck was coming down the street.

Luckily, the truck driver was paying attention and hit the breaks, but not before being partially run over. Had the driver not been as alert as he was, the man in the street would have most definitely lost his life.

Watch the video, leave a comment, and keep those eyes open and that head moving.

[VIDEO] Sometimes, You Need To Fight From Inside Your Vehicle

Sun, 07/21/2019 - 14:36

We never want a fight, but it’s not always our choice. These two delivery drivers were obviously not looking to get robbed at gunpoint that day, but it happened.

How they handle it is key, and the first thing I’ll say (and what John states in the video) is this; Lock Your Doors.

Things kick off as soon as one of the bad guys simply opens the passenger door. It was that easy, and now it’s on.

Watch how they handled it, and let us know what you think in the comments below.

What Do You Look For When Choosing A Handgun For Concealed Carry?

Thu, 07/11/2019 - 15:19

It’s an important decision, and some take it more serious than others. This article is posing as an ‘ask the audience’ space, to see what your criteria look like when choosing an EDC (every day carry).

My personal criteria;

  • Must work flawlessly out of the box
  • Must work with different types of ammo brands
  • Must conceal effectively
  • Must hold a certain number of rounds (typically 10+)
  • Must feel comfortable when shooting
  • Must be from a line with a proven track record

There may be a few more little ones, but that’s the bulk of the criteria when I’m ever in the market for a concealed carry firearm.

What about you?

Self-Defense: If You Work Retail, Watch This Video

Mon, 07/08/2019 - 13:25

Let’s expand that: If your work involves face-to-face contact with the public, watch this video. Retail, government work, landscaping, whatever.

Angry customers are a thing, and they aren’t going away. It’s rare that an angry customer will turn violent, but this video shows us that it happens. It also shows us something even more important; keeping your guard up after an angry customer leaves is crucial.

The first thing I thought when seeing the swing of that machete; this guy was just inches away from getting hit in the neck. If that happened, forget it. He’d be lucky not to bleed out before anyone is able to offer help.

Keep that head up, pay attention to your surroundings, and make sure you have enough time to react to any crazies.

[VIDEO] Karma: Armed Robber Shoots Himself In The Leg, Later Dies At The Hospital

Fri, 07/05/2019 - 10:38

Sometimes, karma works quicker than normal.

The man in the video, wearing the motorcycle helmet, is the bad guy robbing the clerk at gunpoint. He thinks everything is going just fine, until he goes to put his gun away.

When he goes to put the firearm in his pants, it goes bang. That bang sent a bullet into his leg, and we can see him hobble off in defeat brought on by himself.

He goes to the hospital, but will later die from the injuries sustained from his negligent discharge.

A bullet to the leg can be fatal, as we clearly see here. You’ve got some major arteries there, and bleeding out can be a quick process.

Everyone did a good job when it came to handling the robber, but an armed clerk or armed customer would have been a nice tough as well.

[VIDEO] Armed Woman, Wearing Elephant Hat, Attempts Armed Robbery At Convenience Store

Tue, 07/02/2019 - 10:38

Armed robbery is never funny, until it is.

This still isn’t funny, truly, since the equation still has a firearm in the hands of the bad person. However, you can’t help but chuckle just a little after watching the video.

The woman, our suspect in this video, is either really not wanting to be there or is high on something. She’s seen being very… distant… when trying to perform this armed robbery.

Still, we have a deadly threat and this clerk needs to decide what to do.

They both wait. And wait. And wait some more.

Then, the manager off-screen decides to make a move, and he does it quickly.

How would you have handled this rather bizarre situation?

Woman Shot And Killed, Police Say It Was Self-Defense

Mon, 07/01/2019 - 17:54

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA — A woman was shot and killed, and police are calling it a case of self-defense.

It happened one Sunday in June, near the 2400 block of Crossway Drive in Montgomery. Details are slim, but when police arrived, they found the woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Four other people were at the scene and questioned, but no one was taken into custody.

An initial investigation, Williams says, has determined the woman was shot in self-defense. The case is expected to be presented to a grand jury as a possible justifiable homicide.

We don’t often hear of stories that show a woman being shot in self-defense, but it does happen. Until more details are provided, it’s anyone’s guess as to what happened that night.

Are Your Shooting Skills Under Stress Up To Par? This Off-Duty Officer Had Trouble Putting Rounds On Target

Wed, 06/26/2019 - 14:47

Training. But not just normal range training. Training under stress.

Do you do it? If so, you’re ahead of many armed citizens. We’ll often not think twice about carrying a firearm with us all the time, while only going to the range now and then to shoot a paper target from the same position.

If you’re ready to up that game, as you should be as a concealed carrier, it’s time to seek out additional training that can add elements that you could be faced with in the real world.

While everything worked out in the video below, it could have been a different story if any number of things had been done by the bad guy.

Give it a watch, absorb the lessons, and ask yourself; Is there anything I can do to better my training?

Robber With Knife Nearly Dies Of Shock After Shop Owner Draws Gun

Sun, 06/23/2019 - 14:11

If you bring a knife to a gun fight, you’re probably going to lose.

In this video outlined by ASP, we’re shown a person walking into a shop and briefly talking with the shop owner. Then, what the shop owner likely thought was just another customer, that customer pulled out a knife in an attempt to rob him.

Quickly though, the shop owner wasn’t having it and draws his firearm. Before the robber knows it, he’s staring down the barrel of his intended victim’s firearm and immediately –and wisely– gives himself up.

A woman at the shop retrieves the knife and gets it in a safe place and calls police, while the shop owner holds the bad guy at gunpoint.

It’s your feel-good self-defense video of the day.

Ruger Range Drills Season 2 Episode 7 – Multiple Targets Drill

Tue, 06/18/2019 - 16:49

This drill starts with your targets set at different ranges. This drill is typically shot with a handgun, though Kyle chooses the Ruger PC Carbine for this demonstration. The fundamentals of the drills are the same whether using a pistol or rifle – the focus is on the skill of getting those new sight pictures. There are two rules of thought in transitioning from one target to the next. The first is that you stay in the sights and drive the sights over to the target. The second rule of thought is first driving the eyes to the target and then moving the sights to the target. It’s all about personal preference, so try them both if you’re a novice shooter to see what works best for you.

Kyle performs the Multiple Targets Drill with a Ruger PC Carbine.

Two Armed People Out For Ice Cream Are Faster Than The Two Armed Robbers

Tue, 06/18/2019 - 15:39

The video above is one of those niiiiiiiice moments for armed self-defense moments that we see. It’s clean, it’s quick, and it gets the job done.

Two robbers announced that they were armed when approaching some people at an ice cream shop. They thought they had planned a nice robbery, but their plans quickly went south when two of the customers at the location were off-duty officers.

Their draws are quick. Really quick under the circumstance of surprise. They were alert enough to sense the danger, maybe even before anyone else knew what was about to happen.

Give the video a watch, learn some lessons, and remember to keep your training current and complete.

Absolutely Insane: Officers Chasing Down Suspect Are Fired Upon By Random Bystander

Mon, 06/17/2019 - 13:57

This guy had absolutely nothing to do with why the officers were chasing a suspect through an apartment complex. For whatever reason, he decided to get involved and shoot one of the officers.

The true point of sharing this video is to demonstrate how quickly this officer needed to react, as well as the continuous reminder to be aware of everything that is going on around us.

Give the officer some serious credit here. The way he was able to react, while on a foot chase for someone else, is seriously amazing.
