FL Law Now Allows Paramedics To Carry Firearms During High-Risk Incidents
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA — In a win for paramedics in the Sunshine State, they will soon be allowed to bring along their firearm in certain instances.
The law will take effect on July 1st, and will allow paramedics to carry a firearm “when responding to shootings, drug raids and other high-risk situations.”
Annual firearm safety training and tactical training are required for those who wish to carry on the job.
There are many instances across the Country where paramedics come under fire when responding to a call. With this new law in place, they can be better prepared for any dangers that they might face.
Ruger Range Drills Season 2 Episode 5 – Reloading
First, Kyle recommends practicing your reloads dry to start, so make sure your magazines are also empty. This drill covers two types of reloading scenarios The first is when your pistol runs dry and goes to slide lock. The second is when you might want to change magazines once you’ve finished a drill and put a new magazine in to go straight into the next drill (as opposed to having that magazine run dry and having to work a reload drill). You’ll find many similarities between the reloading drill and the drawing from a holster drill.

Ruger Range Drills Season 2 Episode 4 : Grip and Trigger Control on a Handgun
In this episode of Ruger Range Drills Season 2, Kyle Hearth discusses and demonstrates grip and trigger control on a handgun. These are two very important aspects of engaging with your handgun because your grip control is how you control and cover the surfaces of that handgun. And your trigger control is going to relate to downrange how you put those rounds on target. Bad trigger control will give you an air to the left or right depending on whether you are pulling or pushing the trigger. The grip is going to let us control the pistol. So with those two aspects, we’re going to be able to stabilize the handgun, so it stays in the same place as we shoot it, and then our trigger control to make sure we’re right on target.

Ruger Range Drills Season 2 Episode 2 – Shooting Around Barricades
Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – Shooting Around Barricades. A barricade can really be anything – a barrel, a door – but be careful with what you choose for barricade material because it should be something that is softer than the bullets and will allow them to pass through, should you engage them at all. Definitely avoid hard metal for safety reasons.
First part of the drill is the approach. You are using the barricade as cover, so you want to make sure that it makes you obscure from the target area. Second, make sure you stay behind the barricade until you are ready to shoot. Third, you want to maintain the proper distance behind the barricade – typically an arm’s length away. The last piece is engaging your target – easing around the barricade so the targets are in sight, but you are still covered. You will want to practice both sides, shooting side & non-shooting side.
The barricade adds a fun element to your shooting training & gives you a different perspective to targeting.

Teen Burglars, Driving Stolen Car, Are Held At Gunpoint By Armed Citizen Until Police Arrive
GOODYEAR, ARIZONA — Two teen suspects were arrested for attempted burglary, among other charges, after an armed citizen caught them in the act and was able to hold them at gunpoint until police could take over.
Local media reports;
The suspects, Marcus James Edmonds, and D’ Andre Terrell Whitehead, both 18, were reportedly seen in the backyard of a home near the garage side access door.
Police say the door had pry marks on it. The suspects arrived in the area in a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Buckeye.
The teens were caught about a half-mile away by an armed citizen, who held them for police.
via abc15.comMost cases show us that these teen troublemakers end up returning to their lives of crime after being released from jail, but there are of course moments when they switch up their lives and walk a straight path.
Let’s hope it’s the latter for these teens, and hope that they learned their lesson.
Ruger American New Shooter Academy Season 2: Episode 7
Nothing makes for family fun like some good old fashioned competition! In episode 7, we’ve reached the end of the range day and Kyle introduces the dueling tree.
How it works:
The dueling tree consists of a post with 6 arms (targets), 3 on each side. Using one 15 round magazine each & like firearms, the object is to shoot the targets from your side to your opponent’s. When all arms have moved to one side, the competitor with no arms on their side wins. It is a game of speed & accuracy. Kyle’s pro tip: start slow & accurate, then pick up the speed.
First, the parents hit the dueling tree with Ruger Security 9 pistols. The kids will then compete at the dueling tree with the Ruger PC Carbines. Winners go head to head in the final round.
Who will make it to the final? And which family member will take it all?
About the Series:

Ruger American New Shooter Academy Season 2: Episode 6
Kyle trains with Justice, a competition trap shooter, who is very comfortable with a shotgun. Will the mechanics and skill set of shooting the shotgun carry over to a rifle & carbine? The pressure is on for the experienced shooter to adapt for the family competition to follow.
Justice starts with the Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle, and Kyle points out the difference in sights from what she is used to, first, followed by additional safety notes. She moves up to the Ruger PC Carbine 9mm to further test her ability to adapt to a new platform.
Kyle’s takeaway tips:
- Get a good sight picture with your sights and the target before taking your shot.
- Remember that what works for a shotgun may not work when shooting a carbine or rifle.
- Don’t anticipate the recoil of a firearm or you will throw your shot.

Ruger American New Shooter Academy Season 2: Episode 4
In Episode 4, Kyle trains with Taylor. Taylor starts with the SR22 – very new to her, as her experience has mainly been with shotguns. They start slowly, focusing on mechanics, one shot at a time to a target.
Once they evaluate her results and refine the mechanics, Taylor steps up to the Security-9 and shoots the steel targets.
Kyle’s takeaway tips from his session with Taylor:
- Proper grip is a key fundamental part of shooting a handgun.
- If your shots are hitting to the left or right of where you are aiming, adjust where your finger is resting on your trigger.
- Don’t anticipate your trigger.
- Stay relaxed when shooting, don’t tense up.

NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE: Florida Man Shoots Himself In Leg When Moving Firearm From Holster To Center Console
BARTOW, FLORIDA — A 39-year-old concealed carrier made a bad move when trying to move his firearm from one place to the other.
There’s a method to doing this, if it’s truly needed, and he did it wrong.
“While waiting in his vehicle, Mr. Villarreal removed a concealed firearm from his waistband to secure it in an interior vehicle compartment,” the Bartow Police Department said in a news release. “During this action, Mr. Villarreal accidentally discharged the firearm, striking himself in the right leg.”
I always wish that I could speak with the people who have these negligent discharges, just to see what exactly happened. What kind of holster were they using? What position were they carrying? What firearm? How did the trigger get depressed?
Villarreal was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition.
If it’s not absolutely necessary, try to keep your firearm in the same place while inside your vehicle. When you’re sitting, it can make it increasingly difficult to move said firearm around.
Armed 17-Year-Old Is No Match For Armed Cab Driver
TERRE HAUTE, INDIANA — A cab driver needed to draw his firearm after his 17-year-old passenger allegedly produced a firearm and tried to rob him.
17-year-old Daivionne Young was picked up and driven to an apartment complex. Once they arrived, that’s when police say Young took out a gun and tried to rob the driver.
“The cab driver pulled out a gun and shot the suspect. Suspect took off. He was located by our uniform division, is in custody, he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital,” Terre Haute Police Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson said.
The cab driver was not injured.
The cab company, First Choice Cab, seems to be a bad choice for criminals.
Lessons are sometimes hard when you’re young, but they’re even harder when you’re young and stupid.
Man Opens Fire On Group Of People, Is Shocked When Concealed Carrier Returns Fire
BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT — A man who allegedly drove up to a group of people on the road and opened fire, was arrested after one of them returned fire.
The incident happened late this past Thursday, and the concealed carrier acted quickly once the bullets started flying.
Although the shooter’s bullets didn’t hit anyone, another person — who holds a valid pistol permit — returned fire at the shooter, Jones said.
The initial shooter was arrested, but the name, age and charges of that person were not provided Saturday. The person who returned fire acted in self-defense, Jones said, and was not charged by police.
Luckily for the group, this guy was a bad shot and missed them all.
The details surrounding the incident are scarce, but highlights our need to be ready at a moment’s notice, and just how important it is to be aware of what’s happening around us.
Proposed Law Would Remove Need For Concealed Carry Permits In PA
Pennsylvania State Rep. Aaron Bernstine wants residents of Pennsylvania to have the option of carrying a concealed firearm without the need for a permit.
Under House Bill 1412, the permitting process would still be in place for those who want a permit for state reciprocity reasons, but would not be required for those who can lawfully own firearms.
“If you only want to carry in Pennsylvania, you should not need a concealed license to carry,” Bernstine said. “We have that under Article 1, Section 21, of the Pennsylvania Constitution where it says the right to bear arms shall not be questioned.”
Bernstine is certain that the bill would pass, but isn’t so sure that the Governor would sign it.
[VIDEO] If Someone Is Striking People With A Vehicle, That’s Justification For The Use Of Deadly Force
A video has been circulating on social media over the last week, gathering over 1 million views as of this article. The video shows a driver hitting multiple people after some sort of argument broke out in a parking lot.
Two women can be seen literally flying through the air as they are struck by the vehicle.
While I’m not sure what led to this altercation, it would seem that the people struck by the vehicle were not a deadly threat to the driver. If that’s the case, this would pass as an acceptable time to use deadly force against the person behind the wheel.
Take a look at the video here. Be warned that it’s graphic, and also contains some nudity.
Some on the video found this to be entertaining, but maybe they failed to realize that either one of the people struck by the car could have easily been killed.
Question to the concealed carriers out there; If you were at this location during the incident, would you have done anything to intervene? Or would you have kept your distance and called police?
[WATCH] Armed Robber Walks Into Shop Filled With Armed Employees, Then Shot In The Back By The Owner’s Armed Wife
An armed robber was in for a surprise after he held up the owner of a store, only to find that his wife behind the counter was armed.
And he found out when he was shot in the back.
Then, not at all surprised after seeing one store employee armed, the owner pulls out his own gun after getting control over the robber’s gun. It was an all-around losing situation for this criminal.
Pay attention to the actions of the owner, and what he did to try and keep the bad guy away from his gun that he was carrying in the appendix position. This control is key in any situation like this, as the last thing you want to happen is for you to be unarmed and in an even more vulnerable position.

[VIDEO] Elderly Man Shown No Mercy By 14-Year-Old Carjacker Thug
Certain crimes are tougher to hear about than others, and attacks on our elderly fit that criteria.
When I was 14, I wasn’t committing crimes. Even if I were, I couldn’t imagine punching a 70-year-old man in the face numerous times.
That’s what this teen did, and it shows just how far removed he is from a civilized society.
After trying to stop the teen, the elderly man gives up after taking a beating.
Many would say that using a firearm in self-defense against a teenager is overkill, but one blow to the head could be fatal. Not only that, but we have a large age gap that plays a crucial role in this case as well. That creates an immediate justification for lethal self-defense.
Insane Video Shows Concealed Carrier Going Up Against Two Armed Jewelry Store Robbers
The quick-thinking wife of a jewelry store owner ran next door once she saw an armed robbery going down at the store, and she went to the first person she knew would have a gun.
Multiple cameras captured the incident, which first shows the armed robbers getting everyone in the store under their control.
The wife is seen walking around the corner, literally right into this active crime. She quickly bolts out of the store to go next door, where a man is who she knows has his concealed carry permit.
The man goes over to the store to check out the situation, and immediately finds himself in a gunfight for his life.
There are many significant lessons to be learned from this video. Give it a watch below and let John walk us through.
[VIDEO] The Importance Of Situational Awareness; Unknowingly Chased By A Bear Edition
We talk about situational awareness all the time, since it’s a very important aspect of carrying a firearm.
If you don’t have it, you are setting yourself up for an underprepared defense if a bad situation comes your way.
While this video doesn’t have anything to do with firearms, it has everything to do with being aware of your surroundings.
So, I give you, for a little entertainment and education;
[VIDEO] Suicidal Man Gets Into Gun Fight With Police
A man who was looking for a way out went into a business, fired his gun in the air and told employees to call police. He was looking for a gun fight, and that’s exactly what he got.
31-year-old Brandon Stacey had a history of mental illness, and did own a firearm. This firearm was stored at a relative’s house for safe-keeping, but Stacey retrieved it after telling them that he was going to the range for target practice.
As soon as officers arrive, they enter the building and are immediately fired upon. An officer is hit, but luckily he was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Another officer engages Stacey, and many shots are exchanged.
Give the video below a watch, which shows both perspectives.
Stacey did not survive the encounter.
