Female Concealed Carrier In Chicago Shoots At Would-be Robber
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Thank God that Illinois passed a concealed carry law a few years ago, or the woman involved in this attempted robbery could be another victim.
Details are extremely slim, but from what we gather, it’s a pretty ‘basic’ case of self-defense.
A woman was near 56th and Dorchester when a man in an SUV attempted to rob her. Reports do not say whether or not the suspect had a weapon, but it did say that the woman is a concealed carry permit holder and drew her firearm and shot at the suspect.
He took off in the SUV, probably wishing that concealed carry wasn’t a thing that citizens do.
Surprise, buddy. Armed citizens are out there, even in Chicago, and they’re refusing to be your victim.

[WATCH] A Bunch Of Idiots Watch On As Officer Fights For His Life Against Violent Felon
This is a cringe-worthy video that shows multiple bystanders watching and recording a fight between a police officer and a violent felon. They literally do everything except offer to help the officer.
And it’s no joke, because the bad guy kept trying to go for the officer’s gun. In the end, the gun comes loose from it’s holster, but luckily the officer was able to gain control over it.
Give the video a watch and let us know how quickly you would have come to the officer’s aid, and what you think you would have done to try and help this potentially deadly situation.
Do You Have A ‘Bump In The Night’ Handgun?
I’m sure you’ve had at least one occasion where you were awoken from a deep sleep by an unknown noise. It’s happened to us all, and we know how unsettling the feeling can be.
Most of these instances are something that isn’t trying to break into our homes, such as a garbage can falling over outside or a windy night that throws something around.
Still, many of us have a ‘bump in the night’ gun that we keep close by. For the purposes of this article, I’m only interested in hearing what handgun you keep in close proximity while you sleep.
Since it’s not something that we need to conceal on our person, I’m assuming that the main choices are those that hold more rounds than we may typically carry.
Mine is the FN FNS 9c, which holds a healthy 17 rounds with the extended magazine.
So what have you? What’s your handgun of choice closest to you at night?

South Dakota Will Become The 14th Constitutional Carry State Tomorrow, After Governor Pledges To Sign Bill
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has promised to sign new legislation tomorrow that will allow the concealed carry of a firearm without the need for a permit.
Currently, open carry of firearms is legal in the state, but concealed carry requires a permit.
Our Founding Fathers believed so firmly in our right to bear arms that they enshrined it into the Constitution. Tomorrow, I will sign SB47 into law. This constitutional carry legislation will further protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding South Dakotans.
— Governor Kristi Noem (@govkristinoem) January 30, 2019Tomorrow, South Dakota will become the 14th state to allow constitutional carry.
The bill passed the state House in a 47-23 vote this past Tuesday and the Governor, who took office January 5th, has expressed her support for constitutional carry in the past.

[VIDEO] Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – Drawing From A Holster
Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – Drawing From A Holster. The holster is an essential piece of gear if you want to carry your pistol. There are many types and they are made of all different materials – in this drill Kyle demonstrates with a leather holster without a catch. This one is all about the movement. Mechanics first, then speed will come.

[VIDEO] Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – Multiple Targets Drill
Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – Multiple Targets Drill. This drill starts with your targets set at different ranges. This drill is typically shot with a handgun, though Kyle chooses the Ruger PC Carbine for this demonstration. The fundamentals of the drills are the same whether using a pistol or rifle – the focus is on the skill of getting those new sight pictures. There are two rules of thought in transitioning from one target to the next. The first is that you stay in the sights and drive the sights over to the target. The second rule of thought is first driving the eyes to the target and then moving the sights to the target. It’s all about personal preference, so try them both if you’re a novice shooter to see what works best for you.

[VIDEO] Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – One Shot Drill From Holster
Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – One Shot Drill From Holster. This drill combines the Drawing from a Holster and One Shot drills. Once it’s been practiced for mechanics and the movement is correct, move on to timing the drill. Always practice safety first – make sure you know the correct distance for the ammunition you are shooting. Kyle uses frangible ammunition as it allows for closer distance and less splay.

[VIDEO] Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – Reloading
Ruger Range Drills Season 2 – Reloading. First, Kyle recommends practicing your reloads dry to start, so make sure your magazines are also empty. This drill covers two types of reloading scenarios The first is when your pistol runs dry and goes to slide lock. The second is when you might want to change magazines once you’ve finished a drill and put a new magazine in to go straight into the next drill (as opposed to having that magazine run dry and having to work a reload drill). You’ll find many similarities between the reloading drill and the drawing from a holster drill.

[VIDEO] Ruger Range Drills Season 2: Grip and Trigger Control on a Handgun
In this episode of Ruger Range Drills Season 2, Kyle Hearth discusses and demonstrates grip and trigger control on a handgun. These are two very important aspects of engaging with your handgun because your grip control is how you control and cover the surfaces of that handgun. And your trigger control is going to relate to downrange how you put those rounds on target. Bad trigger control will give you an air to the left or right depending on whether you are pulling or pushing the trigger. The grip is going to let us control the pistol. So with those two aspects, we’re going to be able to stabilize the handgun, so it stays in the same place as we shoot it, and then our trigger control to make sure we’re right on target.
