Concealed Nation
How Long Have You Been Carrying A Firearm, And What Have You Learned?
Big question with the last one, I know. Hopefully, you’ve been learning new things all the time and continue to mold yourself into a responsible concealed carrier. We can never learn too much and we can never train enough.
With that said, we’d like to simply throw out two questions:
- How long have you been carrying?
- What have you learned during that time?
The second question is open-ended for a reason, and we want to see what comes to your mind first. So many things are on the list, we’re sure, but let’s hear your answers in the comments below.
Swab-Its Bore Sticks – Rod, Patch and Jag All In One [SHOT Show 2018]
If you haven’t discovered Swab-Its gun cleaning gear yet, you’re probably working too hard when you clean your firearms. I’ve had a pack of their Gun-Tips in my cleaning box for a while and they’re ideal for getting at even the hardest place to clean on just about every gun you own.
Their latest product are Bore-Sticks, designed to be a patch, cleaning rod and jag, all in one. One of their best features is they’re washable and re-useable. A pack of four will only run you $8 and the come in pretty much every caliber you’ll ever need.
WATCH: Armed Citizen Prepared To Fight With Armed Robber
We covered the story on the above video a while ago, but ASP has put together a nice and short video that goes over the incident. It’s nice to witness it again, and things can be learned from this experience, just like any other that we happen to come across as we’re looking at and studying concealed carry.
Concealed Nation Turns 5 Years Old Today
The image above is the first image that was ever uploaded to this website.
1,825 days later, nearly 5,000 articles and approaching 1,000,000 Facebook followers, we’re celebrating our 5th birthday today. We’ve seen over 90 Million page views on our website and almost 75 Million unique visitors.
In this time, we’ve helped thousands obtain their concealed carry permits, and have helped millions with their questions related to concealed carry. Everyday, after all, is a good day to promote responsible concealed carry.
We want to thank each of you for your dedication and continuous support of our cause, and we hope to help many more in the years to come. There is still so much for us to do, and we are excited to bring new things to the table that will help the concealed carry cause even more.
Black Friday Turned Dark: Man Stabbed In Parking Lot, Pulls Gun And Shoots Attacker
HOUSTON, TEXAS — Black Friday turned dark for one shopper as he was in the parking lot of a Houston mall. An apparent fight between himself and another unidentified man resulted in a stabbing, at which point the person being attacked took out his firearm and shot.
Details on the incident are slim, so we are unaware of who the aggressor was. Hopefully, this was a justified self-defense shoot. So far, no charges have been filed.
If the person who fired the gun was the aggressor, then the grounds for self-defense quickly go out the window. As armed citizens, we want to do as much as possible to de-escalate any situation that we find ourselves in. If, at any point, we become the aggressor, that spells trouble for us.
If the person who fired the gun was not the aggressor, then a man with a knife is usually more than enough to justify the discharge of a firearm in self-defense.
Regardless of the slim details, we are still classifying this as Guns Saving Lives. From the story, the person with the knife attacked first, which justified the drawing of the firearm by the man being attacked.
Record Set For Background Checks This Black Friday: Over 200k NICS Checks Performed
Setting an all-time record in a single day, Black Friday gun sales seem to have been booming. The FBI announced that a total of 203,086 NICS checks were performed on the unofficial holiday.
And that’s not just the highest number for Black Friday. It’s the highest number period.
Since one background check can have multiple firearms in the transaction, the number of firearms sold is likely much higher than the number of checks performed. That means that all of those predictions of low firearm sales after Trump took office have been, well, false.
It seems that Americans are still in love with their firearms more than ever before. And who can blame them? The sales have also been very good, which have been favoring folks who are looking to buy on a budget.
The demand is there and the inventory is there, and Americans have purchased over 11.6 million new firearms since Trump has taken office.
Were you a ding in the official total? If so, we hope that you got a great deal!
Happy Thanksgiving From Concealed Nation
With another year under our belts and much to be thankful for, we hope that you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.
Whatever you’re grateful for, embrace it today and enjoy your time with family and friends. Eat lots of turkey, stuffing and gravy, and don’t forget to over-do it on the desserts. But be mindful; if you go up a pant size or two, you’ll have a more difficult time carrying until you do some clothes shopping ;)
And after you’re done stuffing your face with Turkey Day Deliciousness, take a moment with your belly out to see all of the Firearm Black Friday Ads for tomorrow. You won’t want to miss some of these deals.
Holiday Carry: An Anti-Gun Home And Your (Possible) Illegal Activity
You’re headed over to Thanksgiving dinner to a home that doesn’t like guns. We all have some of those friends and possibly family, so don’t kid yourself.
But in all seriousness, it’s a widely unknown fact that federal law covers a person who gives written or verbal notice that they do not want firearm inside their home. Or, to put it in better terms, it would put you at risk for possible prosecution.
As things can be tricky with family and friends when it comes to firearms, would you keep quite or would you respect their wishes and leave your firearm at home or in your vehicle?
*WATCH* Gun Yoga Is A New Thing
A friend sent me this on Facebook and I couldn’t help but watch it. I already knew how it would end, but was surprised at just how many others couldn’t figure it out.
The video is above. It’ll either give you a laugh, or make you wonder why such a thing exists. We hope you aren’t the latter.
*WATCH* Numerous Examples: Carry With A Round In The Chamber
There is sometimes a debate about carrying with a round in the chamber, as some people don’t because they are just starting out. While we want people to be comfortable with the firearm they are carrying, it should be a considering factor to carry at all…
In other words, carry the way you feel is best for you, but also be mindful of the fact that, if needed, you may not have time to rack that slide. And even if you do, you may find yourself with a malfunction.
Watch the video above which shoes numerous examples of both chambered carry and not chambered. The differences can be staggering in the end.
GLOCK 17 Nearly Melts in the Hands of Major YouTube Star
Eric from Moss Pawn and Gun, known as the owner, producer, and general star of the Iraqveteran8888 YouTube channel, can do some pretty cool stuff when you put, well, just about any firearm in his hands.
He records many of his exploits and posts them online for the viewing public to enjoy.
His videos are largely excellent (there might be a “Five Gun” list or two I disagree with), but what he did with a Gen3 GLOCK 17 with an auto sear in 2015 is the stuff of gun video legend.
What is it he did, exactly?
He just nearly melted one of the most reliable firearms on earth by running it so hard.
Check out the video below. It’s not at all intended to be an exposé of some sort of hidden GLOCK frailty.
It’s a testament to how hard they can run.
1272 rounds running non stop is no joke. Take a look:

Failed Home Invasion Leaves One Suspect Dead
JEFFERSON COUNTY, ALABAMA — One man is dead after he and his buddy try to invade a home and rob the people inside. Little did they know that at these intended victims weren’t going down without a fight.
From al.com;
Information at the scene was that the male homeowner and a friend were in a side room of the home visiting. Two armed men forced their way into the door and tried to rob them.
The homeowner and his friend began fighting with the suspects. The homeowner was struck in in the head with a handgun.
After this, a single shot is said to have been fired. That shot found it’s target, and one of the bad guys was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s unclear whether the gun was taken from the suspect, or if the homeowner had a gun of his own. Or, it could be possible that the gun went off in the hands of the suspect, and he ended up being the unlucky recipient of some deadly lead.
The second suspect ran to a waiting getaway vehicle which was driven by a third suspect. Hopefully, these two remaining thugs will be found and charged with murder, since their buddy failed to live through their stupid decision.
Motorcyclists Get Into Awful Scrap On Oklahoma Roadside… Footage Is Awful
OKLAHOMA — One brawl between a pickup truck driver and his friends and a group of motorcyclists nearly went deadly more than once as the two groups confronted each other at the side of the road.
There are threats with at least one gun, there are threats with at least one knife, and there are deliberate threats to people’s lives. It’s a mess.
More than a mess, it’s a miracle. There’s no reason this many angry, armed, fighting people should have survived this. It’s morbid, but that’s a fact.
In terms of when and where a responsible citizen should act here, I’m going to present this one without comment.

[VIDEO] Armed Robber Gives Carjacking a Try, Wasn’t Ready for Swift Response
It’s always helpful to be armed — especially when you’re facing a carjacking situation.
But, in a video published by DriveTribe, one woman managed to evade attack by to armed car robbers not with a firearm, but with some lightning-quick reflexes.
Check out the video below:

This might not have been the reaction the intended victim would have had were she armed, but it’s some speedy work, nonetheless.

1. I carry a Ruger SR9C, loaded with 10+1 of Federal HST 124g.
2. I carry in an 👽 Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0
3. I am a farmer, and I carry all day, every day. I like the Ruger because it feels good in my hand, and shoots well. I like the extra ammo capacity of a double stack over a single stack. I love that holster because it is extremely comfortable, and it hides the double stack Ruger well on my small frame. I also like that the holster is tuckable. The AG is the only holster I’ve tried, because I’ve never felt the need to try anything else.
[VIDEO] Is the.22 Rifle a Viable Tool for Self-Defense?
The “correct” caliber for home defense largely depends on who you talk to. There are some who believe that for them there is .45, only .45, and forever .45. Everybody’s got that one friend.
For far more, the answer to the home defense question is 12 gauge — and to be fair, most things that shoot 12 gauge will make for a superior home defense tool.
However, one question that never seems to go away is the.22 question — is it a viable option?
Of course, here we aren’t really talking so much about .22 magnum or .223 — .22LR, the ubiquitous round that generally costs less than a dime a round.
In the above video, YouTuber Paul Harrell explores that very option. Among other things, he makes a definitive point that it beats nothing, and its easy shootability really does lend it some street cred.
When you’re done checking out this video, check out the rest of his gun videos — he’s one of the better YouTube gun personalities out there.
