The Truth About Guns
Progress: AP Stylebook Now Advises Against Using ‘Assault Rifle’ and ‘Assault Weapon’ in News Reports
From the Second Amendment Foundation . . .
After years of incorporating the terms “assault rifle” and “assault weapons” into news reports involving firearms, especially when used in crimes, journalists are now advised by the Associated Press to avoid the “highly politicized terms,” and the Second Amendment Foundation says it’s a “smart gun change.”
“It’s about time the media realized the terms ‘assault rifle’ and ‘assault weapon’ are inflammatory and meaningless,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M.

The 7-Eleven convenience store chain offered a $100,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a masked gunman suspected of robbing six Southern California stores, killing two people and wounding three others.

The Myth of Police Protection: Uvalde Video Reveals ‘Just Call 9-1-1’ Is a Dangerous Fantasy
By Jon Miltimore
The gunman walked into Robb Elementary School almost casually.
Minutes earlier he had crashed a vehicle near the school, spraying three bullets at a pair of men who approached the scene to see if he was okay. After walking into the school, AR-15 in hand, the gunman takes a right turn down a hallway. From a different hallway, a child sees the gunman. The child pauses, watches, and then jumps at a roar of gunfire.
Joe Biden and Democrats Won’t Stop Until They’ve Banned Your Guns
Despite the gun control law he just signed and the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision, President Joe Biden told the nation we wants more still gun control. He wants to ban guns.
President Biden demanded Congress reinstate the failed 1994 Assault Weapons Ban to usher in a new era of strict gun control to deny law-abiding citizens their Second Amendment rights.
“We’re living in a country awash in weapons of war,” the president said.

Obscure Object of Desire: My Custom ‘Apache Pug’ Knuckleduster Revolver
Reader Rudukai13 writes . . .
I recently received a completed custom design I commissioned from Wright Armory in Tempe, Arizona. It’s inspired by the Apache Revolvers of the mid 19th century. An array of unusual combinations of revolvers and knuckledusters were available at the time.
Ever since learning about the history of the Apache knuckleguns many years ago I’ve wanted to try building one of my own. Recent events conspired and that dream has finally becoming a reality.
A Guide to .22LR Barrel Care for the Precision Rimfire Shooter
By Gregory J. Roman
As anyone involved in the shooting sports knows, precision rimfire is growing rapidly. The internet is full of tons of advice, good and bad, on how to perform better as a shooter. If there is one thing that my time at Vudoo has taught me, it’s that there is not much good information available on how to take care of your .22 LR barrel to get the most out of it.
John Feinblatt Tries Desperately to Put Lipstick on the Gun Control Industry’s Sickly Pig
The classic definition of the word ‘chutzpah‘ has always been someone who kills his own parents, then throws himself on the mercy of the court because he’s an orphan. Yesterday, a prominent new example of chutzpah was on display in The Hill where Everytown for Gun Safety president John Feinblatt tried to take a victory lap despite having just suffered the worst defeat for gun control in generations.
Woke Shannon Watts: Pay No Attention to the Bruen Decision! We’re Still Winning!
In just the past few weeks we’ve seen lifesaving legislation signed into law in New York, Rhode Island, Delaware, California, and New Jersey. Cities in states like Colorado and Oregon are passing ordinances that go even further to protect communities from gun violence. And in states where dangerous gun laws are being enacted, like a new Ohio law allowing teachers to carry weapons in schools, even school districts are acting to prevent guns in schools.
BREAKING: Video Released of Uvalde School Shooting Police Response
Earlier today, a report indicated that a Texas House committee would release hallway video of the Uvalde school shooting police response on Sunday after showing it to the families of victims and survivors. However, the Austin American-Statesman has gotten a copy of the video and just posted it.
The video includes exterior footage of the killer crashing his truck, shooting at by standers and then approaching the school.
As the American-Statesman describes the newly released video evidence .
Ask TTAG: Best Gun-Plus-Suppressor Choices For Personal Defense In and Outside the Home
TTAG receives a fair bit of reader mail, and most of the time we just reply directly, but sometimes a question makes a good basis for a post that will interest a lot of our readers. In the email below, reader “Al Nonymous” requested our input on a suppressed home/family defense firearm that’s capable of being carried in a small, incognito bag.
I’m going to copy-and-paste “Al’s” email below and will reply here and there in bold blue and then add some additional thoughts and suggestions at bottom.
Manhunt for Killer of Two in Wave of Los Angles Area 7-Eleven Store Holdups on 7/11
By Stefanie Dazio, AP
Two people were killed and three wounded in robberies before dawn Monday at six 7-Eleven stores in Southern California and authorities said they were seeking the same lone gunman in at least three of the crimes.
The string of violence occurred occurred within a timespan of about five hours on July 11, or 7/11, the day when the national 7-Eleven brand celebrates its anniversary. This is its 95th year and on Monday stores gave out free Slurpee drinks.
Why the Supreme Court’s EPA Ruling Has Politicians and Gun Control Advocates Worried
Another One: 80 Percent Arms Leaving California, Moving to Fort Worth, Texas
From 80 Percent Arms . . .
Since 2013, 80 Percent Arms has designed and manufactured industry-leading jigs and 80 percent lower receivers in Southern California. 80 Percent Arms has prided itself on providing individuals with the best tools to build their own firearms, legally and safely, from the comfort of their own homes.

Gun Review: Bersa TPR 380 Plus
Bersa has updated the classic Thunder Plus with new slide cuts to follow the TPR line and now we have the TPR 380 Plus.
Style cues are there from the classic Walther PP, double-action/single action (DA/SA) with a decocker, all-metal construction, and 15+1 rounds of .380 ACP. Oh, and it’s available most places for well under $400. That’s what makes the TPR 380 Plus worth taking a look at.
I never got to experience the old Thunder Plus model, so I can’t give you comparison points with the TPR 380 Plus, but I can tell you what this model is like.

Great Moments in Civilian Disarmament: Michael Moore’s 28th Amendment to the Constitution
Anti-gun people are having a difficult time coming to terms with the NYSRPA v. Bruen decision. It’s a crippling loss that they’re unlikely to ever fully recover from.
Some of them are going through the full Kübler-Ross five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. A recent blog post by Michael Moore — who’s never been a fan of the Second Amendment — reveals that he’s somewhere in the denial and bargaining stages, with some heavy doses of fantasy and delusion mixed in.
Sammin: Shall-Issue Concealed Carry is a Matter of Equality, Not a Safety
A shall-issue state like Pennsylvania will issue a concealed carry permit to anyone who meets the legal requirements. That doesn’t mean just anyone can get a permit — the law carves out several groups including convicted felons, people “not of sound mind,” and “habitual drunkards.” But if you are legally qualified, you get the permit. …
In no other circumstances do we require people to apply to the subjective judgment of a cop or judge before they can exercise a right.

Florida Man Down: Shooting of Violent Abuser Ruled Justified
Fun fact — your attacker is more likely to be someone you know rather than a stranger. And violent abusers tend not to take breakups well. On April 2, Florida Man Kyle Nye Davis, who had a history of physically attacking women, tried to attack a woman he had severely beaten the night before.
That woman had gone to the home of an ex, Brian Kefauver, for protection. When Davis tried to get at the un-named woman again, Kefauver defended her and himself by shooting and killing Davis.
Silencers For Beginners: Shooting a Suppressor ‘Wet’
Suppressor technology has come a long way, and it’s the rare exception, indeed, that isn’t hearing safe when shot dry. Even so, you may still want to shoot your suppressor wet. But what does that mean, anyway, and what the heck is ablative?
A firearm silencer/suppressor quiets a gunshot primarily by slowing down, expanding (in a controlled fashion), and cooling high-pressure combustion gases before they leave the suppressor. This massively reduces the pressure — from thousands of pounds per square inch to dozens — thereby reducing the loud “bang” of a gunshot.
