Gun Nation: November, 2022 Saw Americans Buy Another 1.5 Million Firearms
Can you call November a “down” month when Americans bought over 1.5 million guns? When they buy over 700,000 of them in one week? Technically yes, but the the floor has been raised so much that we’re now operating on a level not seen before.
The NSSF’s Mark Oliva had this to say about the November sales numbers . . .
These figures are reflective interest and investment by law-abiding American to exercise their Second Amendment rights.
Judge Roger ‘Saint’ Benitez Rules Against California’s Attempt to Block SAF’s ‘Fee-Shifting’ Law Challenge
From the Second Amendment Foundation . . .
A federal judge in San Diego has rejected an attempt by the State of California to moot a Second Amendment Foundation lawsuit seeking to overturn a Golden State statute designed to penalize any plaintiffs, and their attorneys, in cases challenging California gun control laws. The case is known as Miller v. Bonta.
The eight-page order was signed by District Judge Roger T.
New York Times Columnist David Brooks Wants Americans to Give Up Their Rights for a Promise of More ‘Security’
New York Times columnist David Brooks is doing Americas gun owners the service of reminding them why they shouldn’t put any faith in opinion writers pontificating from their metropolitan ivory towers.
Brooks recently opined that America would be a much safer country if Americans would simply give up their freedoms and become more like Europe. If America wouldn’t hold onto the individual right to keep and bear arms as spelled out in the Second Amendment — and affirmed by the U.S.
Daniel Defense Fires Back at Everytown-Supported Lawsuit Blaming the Gunmaker for the Uvalde Shooting
Last week, the mother of one of the children murdered in the Uvalde school shooting filed a lawsuit against the city, the school district and, Daniel Defense, the maker of the rifle the killer bought and used that day. The response to the shooting by law enforcement was an utter failure on almost every level. That’s hardly unusual. Similar botched failures to follow well-established active shooter response protocols have cost lives in places like Parkland and the Pulse Nightclub shooting.
Banks Creating Systems Track Gun Purchases, Ostensibly to ID Potential Mass Shooters
Banks know that normal Americans aren’t going to stand for banks blocking purchases of guns at stores using debit or credit cards. But if they market it as “identifying mass shooters before they strike,” suddenly it seems a lot less insidious to the low-information crowd. In fact, they might even support such a proposal.
However one problem (one of many) is that “pre-crime” isn’t at tool of law-enforcement in America. At least not yet.
Frustrated Anti-Gun Physician’s Study Tells Only Part of the Story on ‘Gun Violence’
By Lee Williams
More than 1 million Americans were killed by firearms from 1990 to 2021, and firearm deaths increased markedly during the pandemic, according to a study published Tuesday by the Journal of the American Medical Association network titled: “Trends and Disparities in Firearm Fatalities in the United States, 1990-2021.”
Firearm deaths reached their lowest point in 2004, and then increased more than 45% by 2021 – a 28-year high – the study claims.
Lunatic Caught on Video Shooting Philadelphia Parking Enforcement Officer Point Blank
There’s a lot in the war zone that Philadelphia has become that makes people sick, including a whole YouTube channel dedicated to videos of strung-out addicts littering Philly’s streets. But the video that’s going viral of a parking enforcement officer being shot in the head as he did his job on Black Friday looks more like something we see from the Third World crap holes, and not on the streets of America.
It happened in the City of Brotherly Love, not far from where many of those addicts hang out.
Gear Review: Safariland Schema IWB Holster
When the new Safariland Schema holster arrived at TTAG HQ it definitely caught our eye. Skeletonized and minimalist, it was unlike other holsters. Luckily, the sample that had arrived for testing was designed for a SIG SAUER P365XL, which meant I was the easy choice for putting it through its paces.
Though I wasn’t a fan for the longest time, I’ve been almost exclusively carrying in the appendix position (AIWB) since early spring.

Like Good Neighbors, Armed Citizens Are There: Michigan Home Invasion Stopped By a Pair of Armed Neighbors
Moms Demand Action’s Shannon Watts claims that defensive gun uses don’t happen. They’re just an urban myth. A fantasy perpetrated by crazed gun nuts. Then again, “gaslighting” is the 2022 word of the year.
Bright and early last Friday morning, two separate neighbors with concealed carry guns in Michigan, seeing a “disturbance” turn into a home invasion of a nearby residence with a mom and two children inside, acted quickly to stop the mayhem before police eventually arrived and tok the suspect into custody.
Concealed Carry Tip: Carry a Nice Gun, You’re Worth It
I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard people spout the common “wisdom” of carrying an inexpensive gun that you don’t care about. They’ll argue that if you’re ever involved in a shooting the police are going to confiscate your pistol and, if you ever see it again, it won’t be until years later.
Well…let’s play this out a little.
First, the oft-heard assertion that your firearm will be confiscated isn’t always accurate.

The Truth About Stopping School Shootings in America
By Lee Williams
My heart sinks every time I see breaking-news graphics announce another school shooting. It’s like a gut-punch…the lost lives, the suffering of the wounded, the horrors the first responders must encounter, and the families that will never again be whole.
The blame and blood-dancing usually start before the bodies are even recovered. The talking heads call to ban or further regulate firearms, magazines or accessories in common usage, as if the contents of my gun safe located thousands of miles from the crime scene somehow played a role in the killings.

NRA Spends Big Bucks on Hershel Walker in Georgia Senate Run-Off Election
The left’s eternal bogeyman on gun rights, the National Rifle Association, had made a $1.5 million push to help get Hershel Walker over the finish line in the Georgia run-off election for US Senate. The former Heisman Trophy winner and 12-year NFL veteran gives Georgia residents a viable alternative to the so-called reverend, slumlord, and gun control supporter Raphael Warnock.
The election spending, above and beyond for the financially-strapped NRA, may make the difference in the very tight race.
Democrat Rep. James Clyburn: Purchasing Guns Is Like Owning Slaves
Even as Connecticut Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy is lamenting the fact that Joe Biden does not have the votes needed in a lame-duck Congress to outlaw assault weapons, Lefties should take heart. All is not lost. Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) has deployed the most potent weapon in the Left’s arsenal to defeat the shadowy, all-powerful gun lobby. Not to mention, millions of Americans who would just like to be left alone and able to defend themselves and their families against a world that looks ever more like the apocalyptic landscape of the Mad Max franchise.

Media Horrified as San Francisco Board of Supervisors Considers Arming Bomb Disposal Robots
Police remote-controlled robots have been around for years now. In addition to cameras, most police robots have tools used to disable explosive devices, improvised or otherwise, from a safe distance away. And some have more lethal features that go boom.
San Francisco Police Department has provoked a hysterical reaction (go figure) in recent days. They’ve sought formal approval for the use of 12 gauge shotgun shells in one of those “disruption” tools used against barricaded violent bad guys.
Oregon’s Firearm Industry Firms Try to Navigate Measure 114 as the State Tries to Figure Out How it Will Work
Oregon’s recently passed gun control Measure 114 is set to go into effect on December 8. As the days tick by, Oregon gun stores have been deluged with buyers and the state police can’t keep up with the demand for background checks.
Never mind the fact that no one has really drawn up specifics of what the citizen-initiated law will actually look like, how it will work or be implemented, or who’s going to pay for it.

Barnett: We Need to Challenge the Idea of Gun Ownership in America
Second Amendment zealots say that people, not guns, kill people. But when a nation has more guns than people – 393 million guns and 326 million people – the prevalence of guns is going to lead to the demise of people through intentional shootings, accidents or suicides. The toll is more than 110 people every day, including five deaths per day in North Carolina.
How it got this way is a complicated story about muskets, militias, the National Rifle Association and members of Congress who value campaign contributions over their constituents’ lives.
