FPC States Its Case in Challenge to Massachusetts’ Approved Handgun Roster
To be sure, Massachusetts’s prohibition on the commercial sale of common handguns qualifies as a ban. Massachusettsans—including Plaintiffs—are left only with the hopes of finding such arms through a secondhand market, where they lack knowledge of the seller or control over the price or condition of the firearm, if the firearm is available at all.
Because the Handgun Ban affects conduct covered by the Second Amendment’s plain text, it is presumptively unconstitutional.

GUN HERO OF THE DAY: More On The Warner Robins Child Abduction Thwarted By Good Guy With A Gun
More details of the harrowing story of the good guy with a gun who stopped a child abduction and attempted murder behind a Warner Robins, Georgia Walmart have come to light. While waiting for an oil change at the store, Kelcey Willis heard a child screaming, “Please don’t beat me!” The screaming continued, spurring Mr. Willis to action.
He told WGXA that his first instinct was to grab his gun and help the boy.
Homeowner Shoots and Kills Man Who Followed Him Into His Home and Attacked Him With a Rock [VIDEO]
The National Rifle Association’s headquarters is in Fairfax County, Virginia. And as affluent a neighborhood as that is, a defensive gun use that took place just down the road last week is a perfect illustration that the need to defend yourself with a firearm can happen anywhere and at any time.
According to media reports, the homeowner was attacked by a man he found on his property. The homeowner went inside to get a gun and was followed inside by the attacker.
Things That Don’t Suck: The Aridus Industries SMRT Follower
Your shotgun’s follower is typically a forgotten, unappreciated hero. It’s what ensures your tube-fed shotgun feeds reliably. I’m sure there’s a word for it, but it’s crazy that such a small, affordable part of your weapon can be so dang important to a firearm’s overall reliability.
A good follower goes a long way to keeping your shotgun shooting reliably, and with that in mind, I typically stick with aluminum followers. I saw that Aridus Industries recently announced their own SMRT followers and as soon as I saw it was live, I knew I had to have one.
Three Dead, Manhunt On After Shooting in the University of Virginia’s ‘Gun-Free’ Zone
No one is really sure why three people were shot to death and two more were wounded in a University of Viriginia parking garage last night. The university has a policy which clearly prohibits firearms. That really should have been more than enough to keep anyone from bringing a gun onto the school’s beautiful campus.
And yet Christopher Darnell Jones, a former UVA football player, is suspected of not only bringing a gun on campus, but opening fire and murdering three people.
Police Impersonators: Home Invader Shoots His Partner, Then Is Shot Dead By Homeowner
Bad guys sometimes act like police to gain a momentary advantage against their potential victims. Harris County, Texas Sheriff Ed Gonzalez let members of the community know about a pair of pretend cops who met a most satisfactory ending after forcing entry on a home in Katy, Texas west of Houston.
The intruders, dressed in what looked like “body armor” stormed the residence while firing shots. It seems their marksmanship could have used some improvement, though, along with their muzzle discipline.
Alec Balwin Sues Movie Crewmembers to Deflect Blame for Cinematographer’s Shooting Death
From the AP . . .
Saying he wants to clear his name, Alec Baldwin on Friday sued people involved in handling and supplying the loaded gun that he was using when it fired, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a 2021 filming accident in New Mexico.
Baldwin filed a cross-complaint in Superior Court in Los Angeles alleging negligence against some of the people sued by a script supervisor, Mamie Mitchell. Among other things, it seeks a share of any damages that Mitchell may win from the people Baldwin names and asks that they pay for any damages assessed against him.
Narrative Fail: Every Governor Who Signed a Constitutional Carry Law Won Re-Election
It did not take long for anti-gun activists in the media to make the claim gun control is a winning issue for Democrats, but only if the glaring problems with that picture are ignored.
Abortion, record inflation, large amounts of crime, concerns about democracy, and even climate change and healthcare ranked of higher concern for voters than gun policy according to NBC. Additionally, the New York Times reported last month only 1% of likely voters thought guns were the most important problem.
Finally Scratching the Duck Hunting Itch Can Be Dangerous (and Expensive)
I’m not much of a hunter. Yes, I have hunted, and the proof’s hanging over my desk at home. But I think I’ve probably shot my last ungulate. I just never had the hankering true hunters get to be out there and bring down four-legged non-frozen meat on the hoof. Birds, on the other hand, are a different story.
I love me some scatterguns, and while there are certainly better shotgunners, I’d rather spend time shooting trap or sporting clays than just about anything aside from sidling up to a plate of Stiles Switch brisket.
Pay for Christmas: Peoria Church Paying $200+ For Unwanted Rifles, Shotguns and Pistols on Saturday, Nov. 19th
A Peoria pastor has organized a gun “buyback” event on Saturday, November 19th at four locations in the city starting at 10a.m. Do-gooder organizers will trade $200 gift cards for any “functional” handguns, rifles or shotguns. They’ll pay twice that and more for other guns they perceive as extra-icky or particularly scary looking.
Come early, because paying twice the going rate of Chicago’s gun “buybacks,” it seems like a sure bet that they’ll run out of those $200 cards quickly.
Multiple Oregon Sheriffs Say They Won’t Enforce Measure 114’s Magazine Capacity Limit
“I want to send a clear message to Linn County residents that the Linn County Sheriff’s Office is NOT going to be enforcing magazine capacity limits,” the post reads. “This measure is poorly written and there is still a lot that needs to be sorted out regarding the permitting process, who has to do the training and what exactly does the training have to cover.”
Since the post was made, at least two more Oregon sheriffs have also vowed not to uphold the measure.

Oops. We assume no one was injured when that gun “went off.” Let’s hope so.
We’ve heard stories of retailers that have the equivalent of a “swear jar.” Any customer who brings in a gun and promises that it’s empty has to drop a dollar (or a Lincoln or a Hamilton) into the jar if a round drops out when the guy behind the counter racks it.
It’s a Privilege to Serve a Nation That Honors its Veterans
By Mark Oliva
It is a privilege to grow old. That might sound counterintuitive to a culture that celebrates youth and the possibilities of new beginnings. This Veterans Day, though, we take a moment to honor those who know this privilege all too well.
The firearm industry is a unique place in our nation’s connection to our veterans. Many in our ranks are filled by those who served in the military’s ranks.
Birmingham Woman Shoots an Intruder as He Crawled Through Her Window
An unwelcome intruder crawling through a window qualifies as the worst kind of nightmare for most women, especially those who live alone. One woman in Birmingham, Alabama, however, had the perfect equalizer to deal with big, strong home invaders with evil in their hearts. She used it to great effect early Tuesday morning.
Her shots found their mark and cause the 29-year-old intruder to flee hastily.
The aspiring home invader managed to stumble about a block down the street where he collapsed at a gas station.
HAVA Honors Veterans at San Antonio Family Range Day Event

Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) hosted its 13th Annual Family Range Day for over 100 veterans and their guests. Veterans and their guests had the chance to shoot handguns, red dot-equipped pistols, pistol caliber carbines, cowboy action guns, archery and even axe throwing during the day that was filled with the sounds of ringing steel.
