Thu, 01/27/2022 - 10:00

Las Vegas police stormed an apartment searching for a murder suspect early Monday morning, January 10th. While the subject of the warrant wasn’t home, 19-year-old Isaiah Williams had the misfortune of sleeping on a couch in the living room at the time. In the midst of the chaos, he engaged the SWAT team, firing a total of 18 rounds as they opened fire.

Despite the mind-numbing chaos and commotion, the occupant’s fire against the cops who were storming the residence proved incredibly accurate.

Man Who Sold a Gun to the Brit Who Held Four Hostage in a Texas Synagogue Has Been Charged With Federal Crimes

Wed, 01/26/2022 - 17:32

Earlier this month a man who’d flown from the UK to Texas took four hostages in a Colleyville synagogue and demanded that a convicted terrorist (dubbed “Lady al-Qaeda“) be released from prison. When the last of his hostages had escaped, Malik Faisal Akram was killed by an FBI SWAT team.

You might have wondered where a Brit who had only been in the country a few days might get his hands on a firearm in order to carry out his nefarious plan.

The AR-V is an entire line of pistols and carbines put out by Palmetto State Armory, based on the AR-15 platform. This particular gun is a traditional 16” carbine, and it’s an absolute ball.

Finger Pointing Breaks Out on the Left as It’s Revealed That Guns Are Among the Loot Being Stolen From Trains in Los Angeles

Wed, 01/26/2022 - 14:00

By Lee Williams

None of the more than 20,000 gun laws on the books in this country will ever stop a criminal from committing a crime – not one – but when you add soft-on-crime prosecutors, politicians only trying to deflect blame and an unguarded target just waiting to be looted, you get a perfect storm of criminality.

A storm is exactly what swept the Union Pacific railroad tracks in Los Angeles earlier this month – a storm of criminals.

Florida Carry Calls on Senate President Wilton Simpson to Pass Constitutional Carry

Wed, 01/26/2022 - 13:00

From Florida Carry

We’re tired of waiting. We’re tired of hearing empty promises and accepting compromises by politicians. We’re tired of donor money from the likes of Al Hoffman and Mike Fernandez, who benefit from gated communities and private security, standing in the way of the Constitution.

We’re tired of seeing constitutional and open carry bills dying in committee not by anti-gun Democrats’ actions, but by allegedly pro-constitution Republican inactions. In short, we’re tired of seeing the right to keep and bear arms in Florida relegated to a mere licensed privilege.

SHOT Show: XS Sights R3D Suppressor Height Night Sights and Very Cool Gen 2 Armorers Block

Wed, 01/26/2022 - 12:00

New from XS Sights is the R3D line of tritium night sights for GLOCK pistols. They’re tall to accommodate suppressors and/or pistol mounted optics. Also, a really slick “Armorers Block for AR Platforms Gen 2,” which is a single piece of kit that works for both upper and lower receivers of both AR-15 and AR-10 platform rifles. Nice.

Small vials in the rear with a big, bright front. I dig this.

A Third Primer Manufacturer Now Tooling Up For Production in Texas in 2022

Wed, 01/26/2022 - 10:00

While lots of calibers of ammunition are slowly returning to many store shelves, primers haven’t really reappeared in any meaningful numbers since The Time Before. The two major players in the market, Olin (Winchester) and Vista Outdoor (Remington, CCI and Federal) have maxxed out their production with most of the output going to loaded ammunition.

This seems like a very good time to add a third producer and more capacity. Good news: investors are doing just that, starting up a new company in the great state of Texas dedicated to making primers by the truckload.

Maryland Democrats Moving Toward a ‘Ghost Gun’ Ban to Stop Violent Crime

Wed, 01/26/2022 - 08:00

Sen. Justin Ready, a Carroll County Republican, said he’s skeptical that banning ghost guns would make a dent in violent crime. He suggested that those with violent intentions who are determined to get their hands on untraceable guns still will find a way to do so.

“I would have a lot more respect for these gun control groups if they came in strong supporting the bills cracking down on the people that commit violent acts,” said Ready, who supports tougher sentences for certain gun crimes and has been trying to make theft of a firearm a felony.

Gun Review: Bushmaster Bravo Zulu AR-15 Platform Rifle in 5.56 NATO

Tue, 01/25/2022 - 16:00

When the dust settled on the Remington Outdoors breakup last year, Franklin Armory came out of the scrap heap holding one of the gems, Bushmaster Firearms. Franklin Armory didn’t go out on any limbs with the first guns being offered by the company, and that’s a good thing.

With the Bravo Zulu line, Franklin has stayed true to Bushmaster’s roots, stepping back out into the market with a reasonably priced carbine that sports good performance and great reliability.

SHOT Show: Dillon Rifle Company OPAR AR-15 Trigger With Safety Blade

Tue, 01/25/2022 - 12:00

Working in a similar fashion to the safety blade in a GLOCK trigger (and so many others, now), Dillon Rifle Company‘s OPAR — On Patrol AR — Trigger will not move rearward unless the safety blade is depressed first. This reduces the likelihood of a foreign object or accidental contact successfully firing the weapon.

When I visited the booth I was amazed by the massive amount of gear and apparel — really nice looking stuff across the board — from a company I had never heard of with, by all appearances, a single firearm product.

Ron DeSantis Can Make Florida the 22nd Constitutional Carry State…If He Wants To

Tue, 01/25/2022 - 10:00

By Lee Williams

Every year Florida gun owners have watched our legislative sessions begin and end with barely a mention of the gold standard of gun rights – constitutional carry.

Every year we’ve sullenly said to ourselves maybe next session, or we’ll need to primary some of the opponents.

Every year the politicians responsible have skedaddled out of Tally the minute the gavel came down, claiming it wasn’t them who killed the only gun bill all of us really want, because everything else is merely window dressing.

Gun Control Laws: Making Criminals’ Lives Easier Since 1934 [VIDEO]

Mon, 01/24/2022 - 18:00

As our friends at the Babylon Bee note, Gregory Ilinovich loves murdering people with illegal guns – so he’s a bit concerned about all these new proposed gun regulations. Luckily, he tends not to follow laws anyway.

Besides, Gregory Ilinovich sees the silver lining in the push for more gun control restrictions.

If there are a few less good guys with guns out there, it could even make my job easier.

Personal Defense Chronicles: Vape Shop Clerk Shoots Two of Three Armed Robbers, Killing One

Mon, 01/24/2022 - 17:00

Three masked thugs stormed into Blackhawk Tobacco and Vape Shop in Rock Island, Illinois last week. It was the third armed robbery for the store in the past few months. This time, though, a gun near the cash register leveled the playing field.

The clerk saw an opportunity to access the gun, and he came up shooting. He hit two of the three thieves, killing one who later died at a hospital.

In an interview with the local media, the clerk who defended himself said the robbers had the gun right in his face.
