The Truth About Guns

Watch a Nashville Pastor Tackle and Disarm a Man Waving a Gun in His Church Yesterday
By Brandon Curtis
A Tennessee pastor was captured on camera tackling a man who had pulled a gun and pointed it at churchgoers. The incident happened during a Nashville church service yesterday.
The man, identified as 26-year-old Dezire Baganda, was sitting in the front row at Nashville Light Mission Pentecostal Church that afternoon when he pulled out a gun and went up to the altar as the pastor was praying with members of the church, according to a news release from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
BREAKING: Remington to Move Headquarters from New York to Georgia
Remington has been building firearms in New York since the early 19th century. But much has changed over the last two centuries, not least of which the political climate in the Empire State. As a result, Remington announced today that they’ll be joining the exodus of firearms-related firms leaving anti-gun northeastern states for friendlier climes to the south and west.
Remington will be investing $100 million in a new facility in LaGrange, Georgia southwest of Atlanta and bring 856 jobs with them over the next five years.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Vetoes Bipartisan Michigan Knife Rights Preemption Law
From Doug Ritter at Knife Rights . . .
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has vetoed the bipartisan Michigan Knife Rights Act, HB 4066, that would have enacted Knife Rights’ signature Knife Law Preemption in the state.
Strongly supported by both parties, enactment of the Michigan Knife Rights Act would have protected millions of Michiganders from harassment by police for carrying simple tools they use every day for work.
Alec Baldwin: All Movies With Guns on the Set Should Have a Cop to Ensure Safety
The aftermath of the shooting on the set of Alec Baldwin’s production of ‘Rust’ has seen a wide range of reactions, some of them predictable, some not so much. We’ve seen everything from calls to ban all guns from film production sets to conspiracy theories claiming someone intentionally inserted a live round in the revolver Baldwin fired killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.
So while it probably shouldn’t surprise us that one of the more idiotic responses to all of this has come from Baldwin himself, somehow he never fails to disappoint.
When Public Defenders Acknowledge the Second Amendment’s Second Class Status
With respect to the legal arguments, under whatever level of scrutiny you use, what is happening in New York cannot possibly be consistent with a constitutional right. There are no other constitutional rights for which the government gets to decide, in its own discretion, whether you get to exercise it at all. Even rights that might create challenges or even cause harm, like free speech.
But for some reason with the Second Amendment, New York has total discretion over whether you can possess a firearm at all, anywhere.
When It Comes to Hunting, I’m Happy to Assume All the Risks
By John T. Wenders
Afew years ago, on the last weekend of elk season, Ashley Lyman and I were trailering our horses up a snow-covered Forest Service road out of Elk City, Idaho. As we climbed across a steep clear-cut, the truck spun to a halt on a sheet of ice. Then slowly the whole rig began to jackknife backward toward a precipice. Ashley raced all four wheels. I jumped out of the truck, opened the rear of the trailer, and began unloading frightened horses.
WARNING: Don’t Watch Savage’s ‘Migration’ Waterfowl Hunting Videos Unless You Want to Get Hooked
Those of us who love to hunt ducks, but never seem to be able to find the time to get out there will both love and hate Savage’s new ‘Migration’ series of videos highlighting waterfowl hunting across five states. I had the chance to share a blind with one of these four hunters a few years ago and I can’t wait to get back out there again at some point.
The Steve Cohen Defensive Gun Use of the Day Award Goes to a Retired Chicago Firefighter
Rep. Steve Cohen (Dishonest-TN), recently proclaimed in a House Judiciary Committee meeting that defensive gun uses are a figment of ammosexuals’ fevered dreams. He said, “Show me a case, please…where a good man or woman with a gun protected and stopped the use of a weapon. That canard doesn’t occur. That just…dog won’t hunt.”
Rep. Cohen, we’d like you to meet a 77-year-old gentleman who has an inconveniently different story to tell.

Mystal: Democrat States Must Rage Against the Dying of the Civilian Disarmament Light
Ammosexuals may argue that lethal phallic symbols are the only things that compensate for their feelings of fear, but I know who these people will be shooting at. It’ll be me. It’ll be my kids. I have the right to ride home from a Mets game without worrying that a hysterical white man is going to shoot me for breathing on him with my broad West Indian nose.
Look, I’m not naive.

The VA’s ‘Gun Safety’ Campaign Masks a Darker Truth About Veterans and Suicide
By Alan Mosley
While enjoying some Saturday afternoon college football, I was treated to about a dozen reruns of a commercial produced by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). Let me paint the scene for you:
A man sits alone in his pickup truck beside a lone oak upon a ridge in an otherwise rolling green prairie. The sky is a canvas of orange and purple as the sun sets on a peaceful day in the foothills of rural America.
Gun Review: B&T’s APC9K
I followed the Army’s little subcompact weapon competition closely, and like many, I thought the SIG MPX series would sweep it. SIG seems to be the go-to company with the United States military these days.
In addition to SIG, saw competitors in the subcompact competition including CZ, PTR, HK, Beretta, and B&T. I was pleasantly surprised the B&T APC9K won. I was even more pleasantly surprised by the gun when I got my hands on one.

Businesses Leave and Crime Increases While Massachusetts Legislators Pass More Gun Control Laws
A new study confirms Massachusetts gun control laws achieved “no effect” on reducing violent crime even though legislators promised they would.
Politicians earn support by promising constituents they’ll focus on a few key issues and delivering results. Antigun lawmakers in the Bay State achieved a rare trifecta-failure by curtailing voters’ Constitutional rights, eliminating hundreds of jobs and failing to make a dent on violent crime and enhancing public safety.
Winkler: The Supreme Court Thinks America Has Too Many Gun Control Laws
“This [New York State Rifle & Pistol] case signaled not only the court’s growing hostility to restrictions on concealed carry—the subject matter of today’s case—but reflects the view of some justices that there are too many gun control laws and that we need to start striking gun control laws down,” UCLA law professor Adam Winkler told Newsweek.
“A significant portion of the gun safety movement’s current agenda is likely to come under attack in the coming years,” Winkler added.

BREAKING: ABC News Tells the Truth About AR-15 Style Rifles
The media is learning, perhaps by pure accident, that the AR-15 isn’t the monster they’ve portrayed it to be. That’s a lesson that the rest of America learned long ago.
ABC News has been running a series of reports focused on firearms and criminal violence. Two of those reports tell the truth of the modern sporting rifle (MSRs), or AR-15 style rifle and the real culprit. ABC News reported it was criminally-obtained handguns that are used in most murders.
Scenes From Outside Yesterday’s Supreme Court Arguments
By MigraineMan
It turns out the sidewalk in front of United States Supreme Court building isn’t really a free-speech zone. I was promptly banished to the other side of the street yesterday because my flag and flagpole were classified as “a sign” by Officer ByTheBook and his sidekick Officer JustDoinMyJob of the Supreme Court Police. Apparently it was too tall. And yes, the SCOTUS has its own police force.
I adjusted the flagpole down to the maximum six-foot height…and it then became “made of unapproved materials.” It can only be cardboard or wood, not exceeding 3/4” thickness in order to be permissible on the SCOTUS sidewalk.
