The Truth About Guns

New Company, Warcat Tactical, Launches Line of Extremely Affordable Holsters
TTAG receives many press releases, but only a few make it out of our inboxes and onto the site. Not gonna lie, holsters have a hard time standing out enough to warrant publishing a press release on one. But Warcat Tactical (which is new a sister company of Alien Gear) caught our eye with a new manufacturing process and an aggressive price point — $17.76 with extra features.
Fighting the Noise: Getting to Know the Folks at SilencerCo
By William “Bucky” Lawson
Ever love your job? I mean to the point that you feel like you’re hanging out with your friends every day and working together toward something great? Anatomy of a Misfire
By Guy Neill
Modern ammunition is amazingly reliable. Problems, given the number of rounds manufactured, are extremely rare. They are rare enough that the shooter may be at something of a loss as to what to do if they experience a misfire. Understanding the potential causes of misfires and how to handle them could save your gun and possibly your life.
If you do experience a misfire, where the gun goes “click” instead of “bang,” the first thing to do is wait a few moments with the gun pointed in a safe direction to ensure it isn’t a hangfire (a delayed discharge).

Gun Meme of the Day: AR Buffer Tubes Edition
Gotta agree with this one. If there’s nothing exiting the rear of the receiver and traveling into the buffer tube, there’s no need for a buffer tube and other stocks or stock-mounting options are typically superior.

Boulders & Bullets: A Wheeler Tools Adventure in Moab, UT [VIDEO]
Wheeler Tools is such a staple among home and professional gunsmiths that I’d wager three-quarters of the folks reading this article own something with the Wheeler logo on it. I know I’ve had all sorts of their goodies at home for over a decade, and we use a bunch of their tools on the assembly line at Black Collar Arms.
When launching a new product, generating exposure, coverage, and reviews is hugely important in getting the word out and driving awareness among one’s customer base.
How to Find the Right Gun for New Shooters [VIDEO]
“What’s the best handgun for a new shooter?” How many times have you heard that asked? Some of the worst answers you’ll hear to that question get tossed over the sales counter at your local gun store.
The answer, of course, is there is no “best” gun for a new shooter. Instead, there’s the “right” gun for each new gun owner…which is dependent on on a range of criteria specific to each person.

Bloomberg Burns $2 Million on Virginia Elections, Yields a Negative ROI
Billionaire gun control kingpin and former failed Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg knows a thing or two about losing elections. He also has a long track record of spending millions to flip seats only to lose once voters reject more gun control at the polls.
That was the case in Virginia. Bloomberg’s arrogance showed yet again when he flipped over the couch cushions and found nearly $2 million to throw at the 2021 state-wide elections.

NYPD Sergeant Fires 3 Rounds in a 5 a.m. Bar Fight, Misses All His Intended Targets
It looks like NYPD will have an opening soon. One Queens karaoke bar regular, a New York police sergeant in his day job, involved himself in a dispute with fellow patrons at 5a.m. Monday morning. Seems the men didn’t tip their waitresses and Sgt. Raymond Wong sought to right the wrong as a “white knight.”
Things went sideways for the him when the three other patrons told Mr. Wong to mind his own damned business.

Man Arrested for Online Shoe Sale Armed Robbery Outside Chicago Police Headquarters
As we’ve noted in the past, buying and selling online has its risks. That’s why those who are prudent arrange to conduct their transactions in safe, public locations. But in Chicago, that’s getting harder to do every day.
Take, for example, the case of a gentleman who wanted to sell a pair of high-dollar Nikes on Facebook Marketplace. Trying to avoid becoming another robbery victim — or worse yet, a homicide stat — he arranged to complete the deal outside the Chicago Police Department’s main headquarters building on South Michigan Avenue.
Gun Meme of the Day: Defenseless Target Zone Edition
Yeah, this isn’t so much a meme as a simple display of fact. The only funny part is that some people actually think a “gun-free zone” sign could possibly be of benefit.

Remington Joins a Long Line of Companies Fleeing Hostile, Anti-Gun States
Score another legendary firearm manufacturer setting down roots in a friendlier state. Remington Firearms announced the company will establish a corporate headquarters and expand production in La Grange, Georgia.
“The decision to locate in Georgia is very simple, the state of Georgia is not only a business-friendly state, it’s a firearms friendly state,” said Remington Firearms CEO Ken D’Arcy to media.
The announcement marks yet another gun maker that is investing in a state that respects the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens and values the contributions firearm manufacturers make to a state’s economy.
Leaked NRA Recordings From 1999 Reveal Leadership Referred To Members As ‘Hillbillies and Idiots’
Recordings of a 1999 conference call that included members of the National Rifle Association’s leadership have been leaked. The call took place in the aftermath of the Columbine High School shooting as NRA leadership struggled to formulate a public response.
NPR reporter Tim Mak got his hands on 2.5 hours of recordings and has made some of the details public. The contents of the tapes reveal what Marion Hammer and Wayne LaPierre thought of their fellow NRA members at the time and how they feared being embarrassed by the membership.
Will SCOTUS Strike Down New York’s ‘May Issue’ Gun Permit Regime? All Signs Point to Yes
The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen and a decision will likely come next June at the end of the court’s current term. Early reactions suggest the high court is wary of New York’s restrictive “may issue” concealed carry law and is likely to strike it down as unconstitutional.
That would be the biggest victory for the Second Amendment and law-abiding gun owners since the court’s Heller decision more than a dozen years ago.
Grosskreutz: Rittenhouse Didn’t Shoot Me Until I Pointed My Gun At Him [VIDEO]
It seems fair to say that the prosecution’s case against Kyle Rittenhouse isn’t going well. That’s assuming their objective is to portray the teen as the aggressor in the three shootings that occurred in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 25 of last year.
Two of the three people who Rittenhouse shot are dead. Joseph Rosenbaum threatened Rittenhouse, chased him, cornered him, and finally tried to grab his rifle before Rittenhouse shot him four times.
Gun Meme of the Day: Elf On The Shelf Edition
Well, this one could have gone in a whole ‘nother, much less family-friendly direction. Glad to see the chicken, though I think that’s a hen. At any rate, this is clearly a sign of holiday gun memes to come.
