Two Armed Customers Engage Three Vape Store Robbers, Killing Two of Them
Three hold-up men who were robbing a Shreveport vape store earlier this week lost track of who was in the business when they pulled their guns. In the image above, you can see two men on the left slip out the door as the thieves busied themselves with the clerk behind the counter on the right.
Here’s the video the Shreveport PD have released (you may have to view it at Facebook) .
Who Can You Trust After a Defensive Gun Use? Your Attorney
By Brad Fitzpatrick
In 2020, Adam Nievar moved into his elderly grandfather’s home. Nievar planned to help his grandfather with daily tasks around the house, but his grandfather, who had a history of alcohol abuse and run-ins with the law for violent behavior and alcohol-related offenses, proved to be a difficult housemate.
He frequently started fights with his grandson. One evening, as Nievar prepared to leave for work, his grandfather initiated a fight and threatened to shoot him.

Gun Review: Beretta 21A Bobcat Kale Slushy Rimfire Pistol
Beretta’s diminutive tilt-barrel pistol, the 21A Bobcat, has been in production since 1984. Chambered in .22 LR and .25 ACP, the Bobcat lives comfortably in purses, night stands, glove compartments, fanny packs, and pockets. Looking to entice the modern shooter with a classic gun, Beretta has released a few good-looking Bobcat (and .32 ACP Tomcat) flavors complete with threaded barrels for suppressed use.
I got my hands on a Kale Slushy Bobcat and put it through its paces.

Let’s Take a Look at New Jersey’s New ‘John Wick’ Concealed Carry Permit Qualifying Standards
By Lee Williams
After the U.S. Supreme Court issued its historic Bruen decision, which obliterated most state restrictions on the public carrying of arms and changed forever how lower courts should decide Second Amendment-related challenges to anti-gun regulations, many blue states seemingly tried to outdo each other with the number of unconstitutional post-Bruen tantrum laws they could pass. At this, New Jersey certainly lead the way, especially for its residents seeking to carry a defensive firearm.
University of Michigan Red Flag Confiscation Law Research Determines That More Research Is Needed
The study, published online in The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science in June, examined four types of laws that restrict access to firearms from individuals, including those considered to be at risk of harming themselves or others. These are often known as red flag laws, and place restrictions on people versus weapons. They are opposed by many Republicans and gun rights groups. Michigan passed such a law in May, following 20 other states, in response to the Feb.
Gun Meme of the Day: Gun Control is Classist Edition
Fact check: TRUE
Gun control has always been racist, and when they have to hide their racism, they fall back on classism — laws, fees, restrictions, and taxes that limit a constitutionally-protected right to those with sufficient resources.
It’s a confusing meme if you haven’t seen other versions of it and already “get it.” So, for the first time, I’ve gone ahead and googled it for you: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/wait-its-all-ohio-always-has-been

City of Oakland’s Air Horn Personal Defense Advice is Stung by the Babylon Bee
A proposal for fighting crime by the city of Oakland, California police department is raising a lot of noise and a satirical response from The Babylon Bee – Fake News You Can Trust.
Oakland’s PD is telling residents that getting their hands on an air horn is their best defense against out-of-control crime in the east bay area. They’re adding that residents should also consider adding bars to their doors and windows.
Gun Review: Taurus Defender 856 TORO Revolver
Most of the revolvers I’ve ever owned have been from Taurus. I used to believe revolvers were the more reliable gun, but every Taurus revolver I’ve own has had some major malfunction. That includes triggers that could lock into single action, cylinders that wouldn’t advance, and right a broken Judge whose cylinder wouldn’t lock into the gun.
I gave up on Taurus revolvers, but recently Taurus has had made some serious changes in leadership, machinery, and quality control.

Don’t be too hard on Franchi, though. They make fantastic, classic shotguns like these ones that run great. Just, you know, the post apocalyptic SPAS-12 just maybe wasn’t one of them. Meme from @therealgila on Instagram.

Over the weekend, Illinois’ rotund governor, who’s never seen an anti-gun bill he couldn’t support, signed a bill into law that’s designed to muzzle the free speech of gun manufacturers and retailers. He spoke before an adoring crowd of Second Amendment deniers at an Everytown civilian disarmament rally in Chicago over the weekend.

Incomplete Data: One-Third of American Cities No Longer Report Crime Statistics to the FBI
Tracking crime statistics – and more importantly, whether or not crime is rising or falling in the United States – is getting harder to do. That’s because nearly a third of America’s cities are no longer reporting crime statistics to the FBI.
This is more than just a problem for policymakers looking for data to address the cities most in need of assistance. It also means that some policymakers are demanding bad policy because they’re relying on incomplete data.

My colleague John Crump at Ammoland News deserves praise for his coverage of the AutoKeyCard case, in which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives charged Matthew Hoover and Justin Ervin with illegally selling machinegun auto sears and conspiracy.
Crump reported about all aspects of the complex case and his coverage was exemplary. It was chock full of nuance and context, which can be difficult with any legal case, especially the federal variety.

District Court Judge Blocks Enforcement of Hawaii’s ‘Sensitive Places’ Carry Restriction Law
By C.D. Michel
The Supreme Court’s ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen set off a fierce backlash in the anti-gun owner states. Several states passed (or plan to pass) Bruen response bills that undermine the right to carry both by making CCW permits harder to get and, more nefariously, making nearly everywhere a “sensitive place” where public carry is forbidden even with a permit.
No Charges for a Raleigh Woman Who Defended Herself Against a Road Rage Attacker [VIDEO]
The Wake County District Attorney’s office has announced no charges would be forthcoming for a woman who shot and killed a man in self-defense in the parking lot of a Raleigh, North Carolina, Food Lion grocery store. Video evidence of the shooting supported the woman’s claim and reinforced the decision not to charge the woman with a crime, District Attorney Lorrin Freeman told ABC11.

Don’t Buy the Narrative: America Has Far More Gun Owners Than the Gun Control Industry Pretends
From the NRA-ILA . . .
Part of the gun control advocates’ narrative includes the claim that the number of gun owners are a relatively small minority in the United States. The obvious goal of this messaging campaign is to convince policymakers that they need not consider the rights or the democratic will of this supposedly diminishing portion of the population. A new study has revealed that survey data purporting to show the number of gun owners in the U.S.
Senate Dems Up For Reelection Suddenly Find They’re Against The Gun Control Bill They Voted For Last Year
The Education Department confirmed in late July that the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, passed in 2022, allows it to block federal funding for archery, hunting and gun safety units in physical education classes. The legislation, supported by fifteen Republicans and all 50 Democrats, prohibits federal funding from going to programs that provide “training in the use of a dangerous weapon.” Three Democrats who supported the legislation have since spoken out against the move, which Biden administration told Fox News was required by law.
