The Truth About Guns

Gun Meme of the Day: A Shot at Canik Edition
I think this is actually the first dig at Canik I’ve seen. It’s hard to pan them when they make truly, legitimately fantastic-shooting, reliable pistols at incredible prices. But, yeah, I get the point of this particular meme, LOL. Wanna see for yourself? Caniks are available HERE.

Bond Arms Releases 3 New Rough Series Derringers
The double barrel derringer design may be 157 years old now but it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere any time soon. In fact Bond Arms just released three new models in their Rough Series. If you’ve looked at Bond Arms derringers before you know they’re built like tanks and have a meticulously polished finishes and actions.
That involves a lot of hand work and fitting, and that work comes with a price tag.

Rather Than Enforce the Law, Philadelphia Chooses to Sue Gun Retailers Instead
Philadelphia officials desperate to blame-shift responsibility for the crime control failures are suing firearm retailers.
Philadelphia is suing three firearm retailers – Frank’s Gun Shop Double Tap Shooting Range and Delia’s Gun Shop in Northeast Philadelphia, and Tanner’s Sports Center in Bucks County – alleging the businesses are participating in illegal straw purchases, an illicit criminal activity where an individual lies on the background check form that they are the actual purchasers and instead sells or transfers a firearm to someone who can’t or won’t be associated with the sale of a firearm.
BREAKING: SCOTUS Allows Biden ATF’s ‘Ghost Gun’ Ban to Remain in Effect During Appeal
Thanks to a ruling by the Supreme Court today, the ATF’s new “frame and receiver” rule can be enforced while the appeal of a lower court ruling that blocked it moves through the legal process. The Court granted the DOJ’s motion for an emergency stay of the lower court order while the appeal in the ruling in VanDerStok v. Garland is decided.
Here’s the Firearms Policy Coalition’s reaction to the Court’s action .
75-Year-Old ‘Superwoman’ Sends Home Invaders Running With a .357 Revolver [VIDEO]
A 75-year-old woman who has been dubbed “Superwoman” by her family fired a shot with her .357 revolver at a pair of early morning home invaders. The hoodlums then returned fire while fleeing the residence as if their hair was on fire, but the homeowner escaped uninjured.
It all began around 2:00 a.m. when a pair of budding scholars forced entry to the senior citizen’s house. Home alone, the woman heard the intruders, accessed her favorite .357 revolver and hid it under the covers.
Everytown and SPLC: Kids Who Like Guns are ‘Male Supremacist’ Racists…Allegedly
By Lee Williams
In Joe Biden’s America, the quickest way to marginalize an individual or a group is by labeling them as racist. It can happen to literally anyone, since the accusations don’t have to be supported by facts. Once the label has been attached, the legacy media take over.
The accused will then become the target of relentless coverage, mostly opinion pieces, which reinforces the claim of racism, whether it’s real or imagined.

This Is What (Still) Happens In A ‘May-Issue’ Permitting State
You may remember that last year, the Supreme Court handed down a ruling in New York State Rifle & Pisol Association v. Bruen. It made all the papers at the time. The Court invalidated New York’s “good cause” requirement that kept hundreds of thousands of Empire Staters from lawfully carrying a firearm (unless, of course, they were a celebrity, well-connected, or paid a fixer to walk their application through the Byzantine approval process).
Try That In a Small Town: 5 Armed Would-Be Home Invaders Caught on Philly Neighborhood Doorbell Cam [VIDEO]
Another day in the crime-ridden cesspool that is Philadelphia. It’s not only regular residents enriched by the crime culture in the so-called City of Brotherly Love, but Temple University students have experienced plenty of these during the current school year.
In one recent incident, five armed thugs attempted a home invasion/robbery. While no one was home to properly greet these fine young gentlemen, the homeowner’s doorbell camera recorded their attempt to coax someone to open up.
A Modest Proposal for Increasing Gun Safety and Reducing Violent Crime in America
By Rob Morse
We have 23,000 firearms regulations on the books already. Gun control lobbyists say that’s only a first step and many more laws are needed to protect us. While that’s a fascinating story, real evidence calls it a lie. That is why I propose a different sort of fee and licensing structure for armed America. To make this more interesting, gun control lobbyists say it would hardly cost a thing.
Gun control lobbyists say we need “safe guns,” mandatory firearms training, and mandatory psychological evaluations of gun owners.
Stunt Legislation: House Dems Propose a 1000% Tax on ‘Assault Weapons,’ ‘Hi Capacity’ Magazines
More than two dozen House Democrats put forward legislation Friday that would slap “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines with a 1,000% excise tax, a change that would raise the price of a $500 weapon to $5,000 in a bid to reduce access to guns across the country.
Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., and 24 other House Democrats introduced the legislation Friday. It’s the second time Democrats have put forward the idea.

Gun Owners Doxxed: New Zealand Registry Data Breached…Again
Gun registration almost inevitably leads to gun confiscations. But along the way, people on the gun owner registry can enjoy the added bonus of inevitable data breaches that expose their identities to the public including criminals who would like to steal their firearms.
This has happened (yet again) in New Zealand in recent days. Government bureaucrats in Kiwiland exposed the personal info of registered gun owners, supposedly by mistake.
Mistaken or not, the damage has been done.
How to Meet New People, Preserve Gun Rights, and Save Lives
By Rob Morse
While it may be hard to believe for readers here, a lot of people aren’t gun owners. They don’t share a home with someone who owns a firearm. Most people also believe what they’re told in the news. Put those few facts together and you see another reason I’m passionate about arming school staff to defend our children.
We know that the politicians who serve anti-gun billionaires will push for more gun control after the next attack on a school.
Fargo, ND Sues State Over Preemption Law That Voids the City’s Ban on ‘Kitchen Table’ FFLs
The state’s biggest city has an ordinance that bans people from selling guns and ammunition out of their homes. The Republican-controlled Legislature passed a law this year that limits cities and counties from regulating guns and ammunition. The law, which took effect Tuesday, also voids existing, related ordinances.
The city’s lawsuit says the “stakes are much higher” and gets at whether the Legislature can “strip away” Fargo’s home rule powers.

The Empire Strikes Back: New York City Issuing Fewer Carry Permits Than Before Bruen
From the NRA-ILA
The United States Supreme Court ruling striking down New York State’s concealed carry permit rules as unconstitutional was big news in June of 2022, but indications are that officials in the Big Apple are still trying to decide how to best pretend it never happened.
In that decision, New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, the Supreme Court invalidated the State’s demanding “proper cause” requirement for carry licenses and its discretionary “may issue” licensing standard.
Rossi Announces the New Single Action Brawler .45 Colt/.410 Pistol
Rossi just released a new pistol that probably isn’t going to be your typical EDC choice, but it should make a fun gun for camping trips or other woods adventures. The new Brawler is a single shot .45 Colt/.410 pistol reminiscent of the Thompson Contender. It’s a big, simple, break open design with an exposed hammer and single action mechanism.
There’s not much to go wrong with the Brawler. It has basic iron sights, but also a Picatinny rail to mount a red dot or long eye relief scope.
