New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, long a driving force behind the adoption of gun control legislation, was arrested by the FBI Thursday on charges of taking $4 million in bribes and kickbacks since 2000. Authorities in Arlington, Texas, are searching for a man who robbed a woman at gunpoint before forcing her into the trunk of her own car.

A 19-year-old robber recently gave a courtroom full of people a little chuckle when he told the story about how he accidentally shot himself while he was chowing down on some pizza he had just stolen using the gun he was holding.

When a photographer Levi Bettwieser came home with 31 rolls of old, undeveloped film from an Ohio auction last year, he didn’t really think the film would be any good anymore, much less have any historical significance, but what he discovered through the painstaking process of preserving and developing the film, outlined in the video below, was an in-depth look at daily life during World War II — through the eyes of a soldier.

To my knowledge, the tradition of tapping the magazine to ensure all the rounds are towards the back end of the magazine comes from the military. That’s where I first learned it.  Drill instructors and senior NCOs told us to tap our mags to make sure the 5.56mm NATO rounds were flush with the backside of the 30 round magazines.  They often demonstrated by hitting the backside of the mags on our Kevlar helmets.

For those anxiously awaiting the return of Alice, sweet Alice, Milla Jovovich broke the news via Facebook Tuesday that filming for “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” will commence in August.

During an attempted murder of a man in India, the victim is shot in the chest and after falling backwards, simply stands up and starts swinging at the man who just tried to kill him. But it’s not just the victim who goes after the hitman, a whole crowd of people join in, including one man who armed himself with a broom before smacking the attacker.
