The Truth About Guns

Gun Review: Diamondback Sidekick .22 Revolver
The last few years have seen the introduction of a number of interesting .22 caliber revolvers. Among them are the Ruger Wrangler and the Heritage Barkeep. These affordable wheel guns are well suited to general carry and recreational use.
The latest entrant in the affordable .22 revolver race is slightly more expensive, but this one is a double action revolver with an interchangeable swing out cylinder.
The Diamondback Sidekick was announced in August.

Collusion: Biden Wants to Ensure Positive Coverage by Paying Mainstream Media Journalists
By Lee Williams
Joe Biden has found a way to guarantee positive news stories from legacy media reporters. He wants to help pay their salaries, despite the ethical questions this would raise.
Gun owners and anyone else who don’t want to lose their civil rights and individual freedoms are especially at risk.
As part of his nearly $2 trillion budget reconciliation bill, Biden wants to give massive tax breaks to newspaper chains, which are struggling to compete and maintain their relevancy in a digital age.
FL Rep. Fentrice Driskell Wants to Keep Floridians On the Political Plantation
Rep. Fentrice Driskell (D-Tampa) is a hypocrite. As the Florida Democrat caucus leader, she has campaigned on a platform of equality. But in reality, she’s not a fan of protecting the rights of Floridians, and her actions in the legislature show it.
She states she’s for the passage of something she calls “comprehensive and sensible gun reform to protect Floridians.” But gun control in no way protects Floridians. In fact, it does the exact opposite.
Agenda-Driven ‘Science’: Gun Ownership Leads to Higher Blood Lead Levels in Children
Firearm ownership is a longstanding American tradition. New gun owners, an estimated 8.4 million in 2020 and an additional 3.2 million in the first half of 2021, represent a growing trend of Americans willing to exercise their Second Amendment rights and with it to take on the responsibility of gun ownership.
While firearm ownership can be a polarizing issue, the topic of safety, especially in regard to children, is a high priority for everyone.
Morning Consult/Politico Poll: More Americans Trust the GOP On Gun Policy
From the Second Amendment Foundation . . .
The Second Amendment Foundation today pointed to a new Morning Consult/Politico survey finding that the public trusts Republicans more than Democrats on gun policy as an acknowledgement that Americans are rejecting the Democrats’ radical gun control agenda.
The survey of almost 2,000 registered voters was conducted Nov. 5-7 and revealed that in the top five areas of concern—national security, the economy, gun policy, immigration and jobs—polling results show Democrats trailing.

Gun Review: CMMG FourSix AR Pistol
CMMG has never been afraid of doing unusual things with the AR platform. They created the Mutant, an AR that uses AK magazines. They designed the radial delayed blowback system that tames recoil in a simple way. Now, they have created the first civilian firearm to chamber the 4.6x30mm cartridge and the first AR that chambers the round. CMMG’s new FourSix joins CMMG’s Banshee lineup, but doesn’t use the radial delayed blowback system.
Instead, the FourSix is a direct impingement gun with CMMG’s own micro length gas system and their new micro gas block.

Fighting Fake News: Rumor Control in the Gun Business
By Jim Shepherd
George Soros did not buy Remington. Ever. I don’t care what “confidential source” provided you with this hot info, it’s not true.
For years I’ve routinely been forwarded messages warning me of a “Critical Development!” “Emergency Situation for Gun Owners!” or asking “ Is An Attack on the Second Amendment Coming?”
Usually they come from readers who are “pretty certain it’s not true” but “just wanted to get your take on this.”
This is my annual response for 2021: It is still not true.

CMMG FourSix – The First Ever AR to Hit the Civilian Market Chambered in 4.6x30mm
Introduced in 1999, the HK MP7 was considered to be one of the most popular PDW’s for military and law enforcement across the globe due to its small size, light recoil and effectiveness against armor. The 4.6x30mm cartridge was meant to be primarily used in the MP7 to minimize weight and recoil during close quarter combat. To this day, there has never been a civilian gun on the market that chambers the fast shooting 4.6x30mm round – until now.

By Scott Bauer, Michael Tarm and Amy Forliti, AP
Kyle Rittenhouse provoked the bloodshed on the streets of Kenosha by bringing a semi-automatic rifle and menacing others, and when the shooting stopped, he walked away like a “hero in a Western,” a prosecutor said in closing arguments Monday at Rittenhouse’s murder trial.
“You lose the right to self-defense when you’re the one who brought the gun, when you are the one creating the danger, when you’re the one provoking other people,” Thomas Binger told the jury.

Gun Review: Heritage Manufacturing Barkeep .22LR Revolver
The Heritage Manufacturing Rough Rider series revolvers are some of my favorite guns. They are fun, cheap, and work immensely well for their low price point. I’ve watched the Rough Rider form the basis of the company, and that includes guns like the popular Rancher carbine. The Heritage Barkeep takes the Rough Rider in the opposite direction of the Rancher, trimming the barrel to two inches. Well, 2.68 inches, but only 2-inches of exposed barrel.

Judge Dismisses Illegal Possession Charge Against Kyle Rittenhouse Before Closing Arguments
Ahead of the prosecution and defense presenting their closing arguments to the jury in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, Judge Bruce Schroeder has dismissed one of the charges against the defendant. From wsoctv.com . . .
The charge is only a misdemeanor, but it had appeared to be among the likeliest to net a conviction for prosecutors.
St. Louis Woman Shoots One Teen Carjacker, Chases Off Another [VIDEO]

She was approached by two yoots who asked to use her cell phone. When she told them she didn’t have one, one drew a gun and demanded her car keys.

The woman handed her keys to the teenager, but told police that when he was distracted, she pulled a gun out of her purse and shot him.
Escort’s SD-X 12 Gauge and .410 Modern Sporting Shotguns
From Escort Shotguns . . .
The Escort SD-X is part of Hatsan’s Versatile Tactical Shotgun series. Available in either 12 ga or .410 cal, this modern sporting shotgun is offered in all black or FDE Cerakote. A new gas piston design is mounted around the barrel itself, eliminating the secondary tube that is typically mounted below the barrel of a semi-automatic shotgun. This reduces the weight and bulk of the gun while minimizing felt recoil and muzzle rise.

AP: Whatever the Verdict, Kyle Rittenhouse Will be the Face of Gun Owners in America for Many
By Sara Burnett, AP
Kyle Rittenhouse walked the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, a rifle slung around his chest and shoulder.
The weapon was supposed to be for hunting on a friend’s property up north, the friend says. But on that night in August 2020, Rittenhouse says he took the Smith & Wesson AR-style semi-automatic with him as he volunteered to protect property damaged during protests the previous evening. Before midnight, he used it to shoot three people, killing two.
The UN and EU Struggle to Limit Civilian Gun Rights as the US, Czech Republic and Poland Push Back
By Miguel Faria, Jr., MD
The United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) has failed to materialize because the negotiators have not been capable of reaching a consensus. But as Gun Owners of America stated years ago, “It would be a mistake to believe that it spells the end of the effort to regulate small arms worldwide.”
GOA is correct. Obama administration Secretary of State John Kerry signed the treaty for the U.S.
Firearm Safety on the Set of ‘Squid Game’
While Korean Americans have a long and storied history of exercising their natural, civil, and Constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms, the same cannot be said for Korean Koreans. In fact, when asked for this Variety article about firearm safety on set, the creator of gun-intensive hit Netflix show Squid Game said something that really caught my eye:
[writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk] said, “in my life, I have never seen a real bullet.
