GRNC Exposes Sheriffs Pistol Permit Scheme
Yesterday GRNC sent out an alert that linked to the NC Sheriffs Association report on Pistol Purchase Permits. The results of the NCSA report are worse than I had imagined.
This is why we need to pass HB562…

Feedback Requested on the Triangle Tactical Dryfit Shirts
If you ordered from the latest run of dryfit shirts, how do you like it? I had a chance to wear mine on Saturday and I was impressed, but I want to hear from the rest of the folks that bought them as well. If you bought one, how do you like it?
...Man on Man Competition – 138
Last week I was in Northern Michigan and I had a conversation with my Uncle about competitive shooting. He said that shooting a stage himself, and then having a friend shoot the stage after him wouldn’t really interest him, but if there were some type of “man on man” type comeptition where more than one person was on the firing line at a time and they were shooting to both complete a goal against each other at the same time, that he would be interested in getting involved in a competition like that.

Jesse Tishauser Knows that Skills>Tools
The other day, 3Gun Nation Pro Series competitor Jesse Tishauser posted some pictures on Instagram of his new SVI Infinity “Panty Dropper” pistol.
The bling is strong, but it looks killer.
Then he totally blew my mind by dremeling on it to make it work for him.
Its a nice pistol, but I’ll bet he shoots the ever loving crap out of it. Tell me again about how you have a gun that’s too nice to shoot.

...Sorry About Q&A 18…
Not sure what happened with Q&A Episode 18 that released yesterday. My track was clipping and popping and making all sorts of awful sounds, and I got a LOT of feedback about it from the audience. It looks like something went haywire when I exported the final audio edit, as all of last weeks shows, and this weeks shows were recorded at the same time, and only one of them is messed up.
Unfortunately I was 4 states away from my computer when I found out about the problem, so I wasn’t able to delete the file from the server until late last night after driving home.
I should still have the raw audio from that episode, so the plan is to re-edit and upload it again tonight, so tomorrow you should get Q&A 18, and Q&A 20 if everything goes as planned.
Thanks for the patience and understanding, I’ll get it sorted out.

What Pistol Sights for Carry and IDPA? – 19
Peter emails his question in to
Hey guys,
I have a Gen 2 Glock 22 that I bought as a police trade-in. It has Trijicon 3 dot night sights that have reached the point where I can only see the glow in complete darkness. I plan on using this gun for my EDC as well as in IDPA and would like you opinion on new sights. Which do you think would be a better all around choice, Trijicon HD or XS Big Dot?

Dryfire: Speed Mode vs. Match Mode? – 18
Payton emails in his question to .
When you go into a dry fire session do you only work one of the thee Lanny B’s circles of training in the session or do you sometimes work multiple circles throughout the session? Like say, speed at first then match mode or accuracy at first then speed. Or always just speed one night, just accuracy on another, etc.
Thank You,
Payton

Competing in the Long Term – 137
This week, we catch up with Bob (formerly known as “the new shooter”). We first talked to Bob back on Episode 30 after he’d just shot his first match, caught up with him six months later on Episode 54 to talk about progressing as a competitor. Most recently, we brought him in to help us with Episode 100, our PPQ vs VP9 shootout.
...Is Reloading 9mm Worth It? – 17
Joshua sends a message to the Triangle Tactical Facebook Page with his question about reloading:
Love the show. I’ve got a couple of questions to submit for the daily Q&A.
- How much per round does it cost you to reload 9mm. I’m not talking about the initial purchase of equipment, but the $/rd. And is it worth it compared to the .27 a round found at box stores?
- I’m looking at upgrading the sights on my Ruger Sr9c. There are limited options compared to Glock or M&P. What are your thoughts about the xs big dot or standard dot sight? Or could I just put a trijicon tritium front and leave my blacked out stock rears since they are already adjustable?
Thanks,
Joshua

How Do You Know Where to Aim When You Can’t See the Target Perforations? – 15
Steve in Alabama wrote us a message on the Triangle Tactical Facebook Page with his question:
I have a really basic question, but I know you guys can help. How do you see the perfs on a target that is 20 or 25 yards away, and know where to aim? I can put 6 hits out of 6 on an 8″ “Shoot-N-C” target at 25yd, but I’ve got a nice red dot to put my fiber optic sight on. This weekend, I’m shooting my first match– a GSSF match that will used perf’ed D-1 targets, and I’ve never shot at any. I don’t know where to get them around here; none of the gun stores have them. Am I just overthinking this?
