Marines get new targets to play with (VIDEO)
Any day spent at the range is a good one, and with the new robotic targets being tested by the Marines, future ones could be great.
Of course, they look silly and the wigs are kinda creepy, but as any practical or 3-gun competitor will vouch for, nailing a moving target is immensely harder and better training than spending a lot of lead equity zipping rounds through static paper targets.

Can you freeze a modern rifle and expect them to work? (VIDEO)
Tim with the Military Arms Channel froze a Sig MCX, Krebs RAS-47, Colt 6920 and a Beretta ARX100 to see how they performed with a little ice.
Extreme weather is never the friend of man or machinery, and with that in mind, Tim misted the guns down like an thirsty fern in August and left them to sit for a bit in the snow.
Then came the testing.
Who votes AK all the way?

Ever wanted a pump-action slingshot that fires knives? (VIDEO)
From deep in his Bavarian bunker, Joerg Sprave gets back into the slingshot game with a pump action repeater that is fed by Kunai knives.
Magazine fed, Joerg’s projector will hold eight of the sharp Kunai blades. A rubber band-powered sled hurls the blade down a channel made by aluminum guides and out the front.
It seems crazy simple but JS pledges to make an all-aluminum version to crank up the power.
We get the idea that Joerg’s house has a lot of battle damage.

STI Perfect 10 vs cinder blocks, bowling ball (VIDEO)
Get ready for some good ol’ fashioned backyard shootin’. Vlogger destroys some cinder blocks and bowling ball with the STI Perfect 10 for, umm, science. If you didn’t know, the STI Perfect 10 is a double stack high-cap 1911-style pistol. The grip and trigger guard are made from polymer, which gives the pistol only about 1/8-inch wider in the hand grip than a standard 1911.

Join the Army they said. Dance in a lake of fire they said (VIDEO)
We’re pretty sure the recruiter never said anything about Fire Phobia Training in between the stuff about the Post-9/11 GI Bill and 30 days of Vacay a year.
With that in mind, enjoy this video of Soldiers from the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division while they learn how to defend against Molotov cocktails during Fire Phobia Training in Hohenfels, Germany.

Taking on raw kevlar in a ballistics challenge (VIDEO)
Demolition Ranch lucked into a stack of kevlar fabric sheets which, naturally, leads to a bunch of rounds downrange of varying calibers to see just what this stuff will stop.
At first it’s not very impressive, with a .22LR rocking through a single sheet like so much raw cotton. However, when they start adding layers, it gets kinda neat– especially when they break out the ceramic dinner plates, watermelon and Deagles.
How about 52 layers of kevlar fabric vs. a .50BMG?

5-year-old calls 911 after witnessing parents’ murder (VIDEO)
A 5-year-old boy made a heartbreaking call to 911 earlier this month after seeing his parents killed in their Chattanooga home.
“My daddy and my mama got shot,” the child told the dispatcher, who, in turn, tried to get more information from the boy.
“Are they talking to you?” the dispatcher later asks of the boy’s parents.
“No. They dead,” he replies.
The child tells the dispatcher that “some dude” shot his parents, he’s all alone, and asks her several times to send the police officers to his house. The little boy told the dispatcher he would watch TV until the officers got there.
At this point, no arrests have been made.

Going the distance with a rare Italian stallion (VIDEO)
MAC lucked into finding a SITES Spectre Falcon (HC) pistol in 9mm as part of his continuing look at oddball 80’s firearms.
Perhaps best known for their distinctive coffin quad-stack magazines, Società Italiana Tecnologie Speciali S.p.A (SITES) of Turin, Italy, produced their series of Spectre submachine guns and semi-auto pistols throughout the 1980s and 90s before fading away.
Rare in the U.S., the HC is the version most commonly encountered in the states and MAC puts it through its paces in style including weapons manipulation and nomenclature and field stripping.

Sure you can shoot the strings off a guitar, but can you do it with the pistol upside down? (VIDEO)
This question has bugged Man since at least Tuesday and 22Plinkster has clocked in to accept the challenge as the People’s Champion.
Now relax, its not a priceless old Gibson or ancient Gretsch, he is taking aim at the strings of a First Act Discovery series acoustic guitar that retails for about $30 and his daughter has already gotten a few years out of and was ready to do away with anyway.
Now the gun he uses, a vintage Colt Woodsman, is very nice and is ready to pick a string at distance.

Quick and easy zeroing iron sights on an AK the Robski way (VIDEO)
Rob with AK Operators Union, Local 47-74 walks you through the ups and downs of how to get the most out of your Kalash iron sights keeping a few things in mind.
A lot of peeps don’t realize the front post is adjustable and can be set up for a combat zero (crazy right?) which is great for budget rifles which often come off the line with canted sights. And remember, in almost all cases, the rear sight leaf on both 74s and 47s graduated in meters not yards, which is a small difference that will add up at range.

A look at police officers and the use of force (INFOGRAPHIC)
The use of force by law enforcement officers is one of America’s most hot button issues, with a number of recent high profile cases causing some to question police tactics.
The Police Foundation, a non-profit, non-partisan organization aimed at helping police officers to better perform their duties, has put together an infographic that crunches the numbers and gives useful information about the use of force.

Shooting at Dublin boxing weigh-in caught on camera (VIDEO)
At least half a dozen men opened fire inside Dublin’s Regency Hotel Friday afternoon during a weigh-in for the “Clash of the Clans” boxing match, and the entire thing was captured on camera.
David Byrne, 33, died as a result of injuries he sustained during the shooting, and two others were injured.
Police said they are in the process of trying to identify the gunmen.
Diarmuid Martin, the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, called the shooting “despicable,” while Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny referred to it as “a new low”.

This is just stupid quiet for a .50 caliber rifle can (VIDEO)
Utah-based Operators Suppressor Systems (OSS) coughed up a .50 BMG suppressor that, when mated to a Barrett M107, sounds about like Hollywood.
Started in 2007, OSS prefers to refer to their suppressors as “signature reduction devices” in company literature and we have to admit they look pretty sweet.
And in the above video, OSS Founder Russ Oliver demos a new .50 caliber suppression system mounted on a Barrett from inside a 10′ X 10′ Conex, which aren’t really noted for their sound propagation.
Of course, suppressors always sound different on video due to the way microphones work, but you will get the idea.

We give you the Snowball Machine Gun (VIDEO)
Sometimes you have to even the odds when outnumbered in a snow ball fight. Sometimes you just feel like shooting snowballs out of a modified leaf blower. Sometimes both.
In the end, Mark Rober’s icy bringer of doom, crafted to make him the most unbeatable Uncle ever in a snow ball war, is capable of clipping out tennis ball sized clumps of packed snow at 26-ish rounds per minute (or, like all things select-fire, until the magazine runs dry).
Those poor kids. Peace was never an option.
At least they get some payback at the end.

Kirsten Joy Weiss attempts P38 trick shots while doing yoga (VIDEO)
Because why not load up some WWII-surplus 9mm ammo and try a standing bow pose, right?
Practitioners of Bikram yoga believe that this particular pose helps open the diaphragm, improve spine elasticity and increase strength and balance.
As for what it does to accuracy while shooting a German military surplus handgun, well, we’ll let KJW tackle that one.
