Toddler doesn’t think twice to shake the hands of servicemen (VIDEO)
In a candid moment caught on video, a 2-year-old little boy shows respect for our servicemen through a series of handshakes.
YouTube user Chris Frederick uploaded the video last week and said the memory was captured as the toddler, who Frederick identified as his nephew, Sawyer, landed at the Houston airport with the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team.
Little Sawyer walked up to the American flag-bearing servicemen, except one who he appeared to just accidentally look right over, and shook each of their hands. Throughout the 30-second video, others can be heard in the background giggling at the youngster in action.

The rise and fall of Colt’s smart gun (AUDIO)
In the 1990s, a Manhattan investor bought a struggling Colt and he thought he could make the company millions by innovating firearms technology.
In 1994, Donald Zilkha had a plan to revive the company by doubling down on Colt’s history of invention. He was going to build the next great leap forward in firearms: a safer gun. He imagined a smart gun that would only fire for an authorized user. But it did not go as he planned.
And nearly two decades later, his story explains why we can have a smartphone that only unlocks with its owner’s fingerprints, but we can’t have a gun that does the same.

FPS Russia is back and he has a DP-12 (VIDEO)
Like that goofy cousin who only comes around on every other holiday, FPS Russia has resurfaced and this time has brought a DP-12 double-barreled pump scattergun along for the ride.
Along with some 55-gallon drums full of acetylene. (Don’t try this at home)
And that’s just in the first two minutes. Hold out for the windchimes. (Seriously, don’t try this at home).

Bringing the heat with the Ruger Charger 10/22 pistol (VIDEO)
One of the more interesting variants of the classic 10/22 is the Charger pistol, and Hickok45 gives you the low down on this chopped down rimfire.
The chunky 3.5-pound .22LR pistol has all the benefits of the standard 10/22 action but with a 10-inch barrel is much more compact. Paired with an optic and bipod they are much-loved and much-customized. Although Sturm, Ruger and the gang only made these from 2008-2012, the almost cult following the Charger gained led to their resurrection in late 2014.
And Hick seems to be able to clock in and do work with the oversized pistol.

22Plinkster explains his ‘Frankenmark’ Browning .22LR (VIDEO)
Rimfire-meister 22Plinkster shares his tricked out Browning Buckmark popgun, which has a few tweaks to help with accuracy.
What kinda tweaks?
-Tactical Solutions Trail-Lite fluted and threaded 5.5-inch barrel (and TS grips)
-Tandemkross Victory trigger and Halo slide system
-Trijicon RMR red dot
-SilencerCo Sparrow can
Of course he shows he can still ring the steel with a bone stock Buckmark, but you can bet the tweaks on the Frankenmark add some insurance for those extra tricky trick shots.

Should it be legal to hunt with drones? (VIDEO)
There’s been a fair amount of debate recently as to whether drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles rigged with cameras, should be used by hunters to spot animals.
Some states have banned drones outright for hunting while others have left it up to hunters themselves to decide whether hunting with drones is sportsman-like or not.
Guns.com recently attended the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where we asked some of the biggest hunters in the nation if they think that hunters should be able to use drones. Here’s what they had to say.
What do you think?

The joy of a budget pump gun: The Maverick 88
Hickok45 showed up and gives some love to the plain vanilla Maverick 88 12 gauge pump shotgun.
A Mossberg 500 derivative, the 88 is a classic in it’s own right and used examples seem to hold their value close to those new in the box.
Overall, it’s a simple and tough gun to beat. As Hick shows.

Go for a walk in the swamp, see swamp things (VIDEO)
A woman strolling down the walkway at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary outside of Naples bumped into a rarely-seen Florida Panther (and not the ice hockey team).
Tina Dorschel vacationing from Wisconsin posted the video of the encounter, in which the panther just passes by with a calm, “sup” as apparently he had places to go and things to do to support the panther family, only beating feet once he passed the snowbird.
Dorschel, on the other hand, dropped a small “oh, shit” at the end of the brush with endangered animal, the largest native big cat in the lower Southeast. Wouldn’t you?
The state animal, the Florida Panther (Puma concolor) can get to as much as 160 pounds and there are believed to be less than 200 in the wild.
The hockey team on the other hand is 42-25-9, 2nd in Atlantic Division, and has slightly over 200 fans, getting owned by the Maple Leafs last night.

Shotgun shells packed with compressed glitter actually hit pretty hard (VIDEO)
The home of exotic shotgun shell experimentation, Taofledermaus, gave some in-house produced “glitter bomb” slugs a try, with rather sparkling results.
Among the items they rained magic on were computer hard drives, purple unicorns, Nokia 5100 series brick phones (which are generally regarded as made of kryptonite) and other such suitable targets.
Oh yeah, and AR500 plate as well.
The colors, the colors…

On this Good Friday, think of the Marines who have Black Friday (VIDEO)
The first time recruits in Marine Corps basic training get a chance to spend quality time with the Drill Instructors of their platoon is always a special Friday.
The recruits have already gone through receiving and, after getting a haircut and being issued basic uniforms, turn over every shred of their civilian life– even their underwear. But it is not until Black Friday that they get to feel the thirteen weeks of boot camp for really real.

Drunk driver crashes into police cruiser (VIDEO)
A Bratenahl, Ohio, police officer’s close encounter with a drunken driver was captured on his dash cam.
Officer Timothy O’Haire was in the middle of a traffic stop when his cruiser was side-swiped by a passing minivan. No one was injured, but after catching up to the minivan, officers noticed what smelled like alcohol and the driver, Antoine Keith Miller, appeared to be under the influence.
Officers, who felt the driver was too drunk to be driving, asked Miller to submit to a field sobriety test, but he refused. Nonetheless, Miller was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence and failure to control his vehicle.

KJW does the serious research on bullet-proof Peeps (VIDEO)
Kirsten Joy Weiss burned lean muscle tissue into the night trying to see if the common Easter Peep, when stacked deep, can offer ballistic protection.
Pushing the limits and asking the hard questions, KJW took a gargantuan stack of the marshmallow, sugar, corn syrup and gelatin creations, then went to town with .45ACP, 9mm, .22LR and .223 for the sake of science.
Spoiler alert: not all of the rounds made it through.

Are 5 fire extinguishers enough to put out a .500 mag? (VIDEO)
Rimfire aficionado 22plinkster upgraded his firepower in a big way to see if a .500 S&W Magnum will zip through a five-pack of fire extinguishers.
Using a 350-grain solid core bullet to keep as much lead on target on its travel through the bright red cans, ‘Plink’s shot resulted in a cloud that looked like it came from Willie Nelson’s tour bus.
So how many did it go through? Not to spoil it, but not many…

Extreme penetrator .45-70 rounds at work (VIDEO)
The nearly 150-year-old .45-70 Government has always been a prestigiously powerful round, but Matt and the Demolition Ranch crew test an updated load that goes even deeper.
Using a Henry all-weather lever gun, the ranchers use some standard loads for comparison before switching over to an Underwood Ammo 305-grain Lehigh Defense Xtreme Penetrator that specs out to 2350 fps, generating a massive 3,740 ft./lbs of energy.
And did we mention the XP bullet is solid brass with a blunt nose designed to keep on punching like a boxer that doesn’t take a fall?
Oh yeah.

Crowder goes after Vox’s ’18 chart’ gun violence article (VIDEO)
Conservative commentator and comedian Steven Crowder rolls into a serious point-by-point debunk of a recent article by Vox on the subject of gun violence statistics.
The Feb. 21 Vox piece, The state of gun violence in the US, explained in 18 charts, details the facts and figures that show America’s apparent high rank among developed countries for mass shootings and gun deaths.
Crowder, in turn, delves into the charts themselves and the statistics they are drawn from to make a counterpoint.

Can you shoot through a block of aluminum? (VIDEO)
The guys down on Demolition Ranch lucked into a pretty hefty 7-inch block of aluminum and decided to see what, if anything, high-powered lead would do to it.
Starting with .22LR and spending two days working their way up through 9mm, .40S&W, .44 Mag, .50AE, .460S&W, .30-30, 5.56mm Greentip, 7.62x39mm, (you see where this is going), .308 Win (including an API round), .338 Lapua Magnum, and even .50 BMG armor piercing rounds.
And in the end, you will be surprised how well the block held up.

Armed robbery caught on camera (VIDEO)
In hopes of catching those responsible, authorities released video surveillance footage that captured an armed robbery at a Houston auto finance center earlier this month.
The robbery occurred on March 3 at the ANF Finance store, and at least three suspects were involved. The victims were stripped of cell phones, cash and other valuables from their purses and wallets.
The suspects are described as black males, in their 20s, all standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 165 pounds. They were said to flee the scene in a newer-model gray Doge Avenger.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division at 713-308-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Getting a run and gun in with the Israeli UZI (VIDEO)
Alex from TFB TV goes from a straightforward walk around and break down of the classic 9mm UZI open bolt subgun then progresses into a full-out run and gun.
The Uzi was kinda revolutionary in its time, being one of the first telescoping bolt submachine guns in the West and was widely adopted in the 1960s outside of Israeli use.
With that being said, Alex breaks down the good and bad of the now-classic select-fire design. Oh, did we mention there is some full auto tapa-tapa-tapa in the video? Yes, stay tuned to at least the 4.00 mark and drink it in.

The facts on German gun laws from a man who owns a few (VIDEO)
Just because he is always pimping slingshots and improvised weapons doesn’t mean that everyone’s favorite nutty Bavarian Joerg Sprave doesn’t have any guns.
In fact, Sprave is one of the more than one million Germans who (legally) owns modern firearms. He is candid with his collection and has 34 of them carried on 5 licenses.
Why the five licenses? Watch the video.
Spoiler alert: no carry licenses. Well, not absolutely no like in Hawaii or San Fransisco, but no enough anyway.

Should these gun companies change their slogans to more accurately reflect their products? (VIDEO)
Every company with a product to sell looks for the best slogans and other marketing tools to help move the most products. While gun manufacturers are no different, what if they dropped the marketing-based slogans and were just completely honest about the products they’re trying to sell? Here’s what you may have instead, according to the thought processes from the folks over at The Firearm Blog.
