John Walsh: CNN’s New Gun Control Spokesman

Wed, 07/09/2014 - 19:04

CNN isn’t interested in ratings, that’s why they replaced gun-hating commie Piers Morgan with gun-hating commie John Walsh:

Gun Dealer Becomes Gun Banner

Wed, 07/09/2014 - 11:29

Leonard Harding didn’t get rich selling guns, so now he attacks them:

In the case of gun proliferation – statistics show that the more guns that are dispersed in the population, the more people die from gun inflicted injury. The numbers of family members and innocents, including suicides in these death statistics are startling. A majority of Americans conclude that gun possession should be controlled. Others don’t see it that way; to these folk the importance of the right to own a gun trumps the unfortunate accidents.

…..

Many firearm fanatics like to strut around carrying weapons at port arms, daring others to say something. When I sold guns for a living (yep, I did), I always pointed out to young men that carrying a gun distorts your perception of reality. A gun will make you stick around in a situation when your unarmed good sense would tell you to find another solution.

Greenburgh Supervisor Tries to Regulate Gun Ranges

Wed, 07/09/2014 - 11:15

When anti-gunners can’t legislate, they regulate:

Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner said he will introduce legislation to regulate gun ranges in town after a neighbor of an outdoor gun range on Ardsley Road was hit by what was believed to be a bullet fragment.

The legislation was drafted by Bob Bernstein, a neighborhood activist in Edgemont and Feiner’s opponent in the supervisor’s race last year. It would bar outdoor ranges within a quarter mile of homes or schools and would require permits for new ranges and registration of existing ranges. It also mandates insurance coverage and sets some safety standards.

“I thought his suggestions were constructive and I want to do whatever I can do to address this problem,” Feiner said.

Feiner said Monday that he will also ask the state Department of Environmental Conservation to check the site for lead contamination.

Here is the draft legislation, which Feiner said he will refer to the Planning Board for recommendations:

Section 1. Purpose

This Ordinance is intended to regulate the establishment and operation of outdoor shooting range facilities. Such recreational and training complexes, due to their potential noise impacts and safety concerns,...

Vietnam vet shot with his own guns

Tue, 07/08/2014 - 17:40

I’m only sharing this as a learning opportunity of what can go wrong:

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville man came home Monday to catch thieves in the act. He immediately reacted by pulling out his gun and firing off shots.

However, it didn’t take long for the burglars to fire back, nearly hitting the homeowner before speeding away on Sevierville Pike.

Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Phil Reagan says he came home to discover two strangers inside his house. He says they were stealing his guns, and then they used those weapons to try to shoot him.

“I was only able to fire off one round and then they opened up on me, both of them, with pistols from their car,” Reagan said.

Reagan says he didn’t shy away when he returned home to find his back door bashed in and thieves stealing his things.

“Well, I shot at them. I told them to drop the guns and then I shot at their car, but neither one of them were in it yet and then my gun jammed.” he said.

When Reagan’s gun jammed, the thieves took their chance to fire back. Reagan says they fired about a dozen bullets at him. He took cover in his truck, where evidence is apparent.

You can see where the suspects fired back at him, hitting his car at least...

Buy a Car, Get a Gun.

Tue, 07/08/2014 - 17:01

I have written many car ads, but this is a promo 99.99% of my clients would never let me do, so kudos to Kilgore Auto Group for having the guts to be different and support the 2nd Amendment.

EATON, OHIO — It’s not your typical business promotion.

“Buy A Car, Get A Gun” reads a banner at the Kilgore Auto Group used car lot at 1000 E. Main St. in Eaton.

The banner leaves out some important details.

Purchase price of the vehicle must be at least $4,995.

And the customer doesn’t get a gun, but a voucher that can be used at sporting goods store Gander Mountain in Huber Heights.

The vouchers can be used for apparel, footwear or gear for camping, fishing, hunting or boating — any of the items for sale at Gander Mountain.

If the voucher is used for a gun, the customer must go through all necessary background checks and comply with all regulations for his or her state of residence.

Even so, buy a car that costs enough, go through some hoops and — if you qualify — you can get a gun.

More States have Gun Seizure Laws

Sun, 07/06/2014 - 13:59

Instead of locking up people, they’re locking up guns:

As state officials across the country grapple with how to prevent mass killings like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, some are turning to a gun seizure law pioneered in Connecticut 15 years ago.

Connecticut‘s law was the first of its kind nationwide and was passed after the killings of four managers at the state lottery headquarters. It allows judges to order guns temporarily seized from people after police show they are a danger to themselves or others.

Indiana approved a similar law in 2005. And now California and New Jersey officials are debating gun seizure laws, both in the aftermath of the killings of six people near the University of California, Santa Barbara in May.

Gun rights advocates say such laws can violate people’s constitutional rights.

7 Shot in Indianapolis “Gun-Free Zone”

Sat, 07/05/2014 - 11:18

The AP said the neighborhood is known for its nightlife, I say it’s a gun-free zone since concealed carriers are not allowed to bring their guns to establishments that serve alcohol (in Chattanooga you can, but you’re not able to drink, and you must respect the gun-free sign if the owner posts it).
