Stop and Frisk is what gun control gives you
A lot of liberal New Yorkers hate stop and frisk, they think stopping someone and frisking him to see if he had any illegal weapons is a violation of his constitutional rights, they have a point, except that in New York City the constitution isn’t exactly a first priority, or a second.
The National Review does point out that Stop and Frisk works:
The program is controversial because most of those who are stopped and frisked are black or Latino. That is less surprising than it may sound: Most New Yorkers are black or Latino. Critics of stop-and-frisk allege that the program is racially biased because blacks and Latinos are stopped and frisked at rates disproportionate to their share of the population. In fact, they constitute 87 percent of the stop-and-frisk targets. It is not surprising that blacks and Latinos are stopped and frisked at rates higher than would be expected if the program were being randomly administered across the entire population — because the program is not random. It is applied most robustly in high-crime areas, which tend to be disproportionately black and Latino. It is applied in response to specific information, such as witness testimony. Noting that, Mayor Bloomberg argued that the stop-and-frisk program might be stopping blacks and Latinos too...
Richard Martinez Grievance Tour Continues in Florida
The man who used to defend armed criminals continues his war against law-abiding gun owners:
Richard Martinez, whose 20-year-old son was killed in a shooting rampage near the University of California, Santa Barbara, in late May, acknowledges that calling for tougher gun-control laws in Florida isn’t easy.
But as Martinez travels the country crusading for political discussion on “sensible” gun regulations, he said Wednesday he hoped to leave a powerful message with elected officials as he visited Florida’s Capitol.
“I can’t pretend that I know all the details of your state’s legislation,” Martinez told reporters while visiting the 21st floor office of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla. “But do you really want to live in a country where little kids have to worry about being shot and killed in their schools? It wasn’t like that when we were growing up.”
Martinez and members of two groups, Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, delivered more than 28,000 individually signed postcards from across the nation to the Capitol offices of Rubio and Gov. Rick Scott.
Neither Scott nor Rubio were in their offices Wednesday. At the governor’s office, the postcards were left with...

Target bans open carry
Ammophobes are a loud minority, their nasty comments on Target’s Facebook page resulted in this:
Target’s interim CEO John Mulligan has just released this official statement regarding firearms in his company’s stores:
Every day at Target, in everything we do, we ask ourselves what is right for our guests? We make all of our decisions with that question in mind. Questions have circulated in recent weeks around Target’s policy on the “open carry” of firearms in its stores. Today, interim CEO, John Mulligan, shared the following note with our Target team members. We wanted you to hear this update from us, too . . .
The leadership team has been weighing a complex issue, and I want to be sure everyone understands our thoughts and ultimate decision.
As you’ve likely seen in the media, there has been a debate about whether guests in communities that permit “open carry” should be allowed to bring firearms into Target stores. Our approach has always been to follow local laws, and of course, we will continue to do so. But starting today we will also respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target – even in communities where it is permitted by law.
We’ve listened carefully to the nuances of this debate and respect the protected rights of everyone involved...
Saving Private K-9: Another TV Show with Gunny
“This show is a great opportunity for America to see our four-legged, sometimes forgotten, heroes in action,” said Ermey. “So many of us have no idea of the level of dedication and training it takes to prepare of a dog for a life of service. This show will shed light on that process.”

I’ll bet Private Pyle wishes he had been a dog during his basic training. LOL
All kidding aside, I’m glad R. Lee Ermey is doing this show, dogs are man’s best friend after all.
America Unplugged Ad
Will you like this show? I haven’t seen it, so let me quote this guy:
America Unplugged features eight people; or families, each in a 30 minute show, who are living “off the grid” in one way or another; choosing to grow their own food, seek alternative energy sources, procure their own water and protect themselves and property.
Gang Violence is not Gun Culture
Here’s the story:
Australian tourist shot in the face during US street fightCzech Please: Now Gun Owner Oppression is Electronic
Why harass gun owners with paper forms when you can screw them online? That’s the thinking in the Czech Republic.
Amnesty on illegal weapons till end of year announcedPrague, July 1 (ČTK) — The Czech police today launched an electronic central registry of weapons to replace the current paper version. They also declared an amnesty which allows people to surrender illegally possessed weapons until the end of the year.
The Interior Ministry says the new registry will improve the supervision of weapons and ammunition.
The new registration traces weapons from their production until they are destroyed, rendered harmless or exported.
Under the relevant law amendment, businesspeople must send to the central registry data on the arms they produced or imported to the Czech Republic, and they must record all transfers and sales.
Under the amnesty, people can voluntarily deposit weapons and ammunition with any police unit, Police Presidium spokeswoman Petra Strašilová said.
The police will examine the weapons handed in to them, in order to rule out that they were not used to commit a crime.
Idaho college fears concealed carriers more than criminals
Are you a retired law enforcement officer? A citizen with an enhanced concealed-carry permit? Then don’t expect a warm welcome at Idaho State University, where their reaction to your presence is to arm their security guards, something they should have done before this law was ever passed, and not as a response to the new law

Parents Need to Control their Kids
My parents didn’t allow me to have a TV in my own room, yet some parents allow this to happen:
Kids aged 10, 11 and 12 rob loaded gun, get drunk and walk around pointing it at people
It’s not enough to pull out a gun.
Here’s an educational moment:
HOUSTON -
There was chaos at the scene of an attempted murder-suicide in Northwest Houston on Monday night as family members tried to get answers from investigators.
Houston police said they were called to a home on Fullerton Drive near Hammerly and Beltway 8 around 7 p.m.
Investigators told Local 2 the father allegedly came home drunk and argued with his wife. She pulled out a gun and asked her husband to leave. They said the husband pulled a gun and shot the wife, who was injured but played dead.
The man’s stepson came inside after calling police. Police said that’s when the man shot his stepson, then shot and killed himself.
“I heard yelling,” said neighbor Barbara Estrada, who lives across the street from the family. “I could hear voices. I didn’t know what they were saying.”
Stunned neighbors described the family as loud and annoying. They said police have been to the home for fights in the past, but they also said they never thought one of those fights would end in gunfire.
“I thought they’d get in trouble for the dogs, not for this,” said Estrada.
“I would never think that it would get to that level,” said neighbor Roxanne...
Dick Metcalf becomes the Judas of the Second Amendment
BearingArms.com puts him in his place:
Dick Metcalf had a long career as a writer and editor in the shooting sports before he became a pariah for column he wrote late last year stating that he’d be fine with more gun control laws and mandatory training for concealed carriers. After an avalanche of criticism (which both Metcalf and Guns & Ammo responded too poorly, and too late), Metcalf was fired and his editor resigned after a groveling apology.
Metcalf seems to be harboring more than a little bitterness for the end of his career—which is to be expected—and is now
