Tips and tricks on shooting a select-fire pistol (VIDEO)
There aren’t a ton of handguns capable of full-auto fire with the rarely-encountered Glock 18, Micro-Uzi and Beretta 93R making up the majority– and Hickok45 has class in session.
Hick’s classroom example is a G17 with an aftermarket Title II fun button and he delivers first-hand tribal knowledge on safety and keeping it on target.
“You don’t want to be surprised, that’s the big thing,” says Hickok, right after he rips off 33-rounds in an aim point about the size of a basket ball in the time it takes you to say abracadabra.

You’ve seen bullets v. engine blocks, and bullets v. gel, but how about a gel-filled engine block
The Wound Channel filled a few cylinders of a blown Ford Racing 5.0L Coyote Aluminator with clear ballistics gel then summoned the gods of 5.56 and 7.62.
TWC had some newer M855A1 EPR rounds along with some M80A1and greentip rounds to compare and it gets interesting when coming into contact with the steel sleeves inside the aluminum block.

Just a pug driving a historic army tank set to a Seven Nation Army dubstep (VIDEO)
Atom the pug had a chance to armor up on a visit to the Ontario Regiment (RCAC) Museum in Oshawa, Ontario and put his knowledge of advanced tank tactics to the test.
The museum, has a collection of over 80 operational military vehicles including jeeps, trucks, carriers and tanks and shows them off regularly including at the very popular “Tank Saturdays” where they put on live demonstrations of functional armored fighting vehicles such as the Sherman (“Bart” #78-904) that Atom got some hours on.

Testing the Russian Army’s MP-443 Grach service pistol (VIDEO)
While on a trip to Eastern Europe, Larry Vickers got his mitts on the standard Russian military and LE pistol, the rarely seen (in the West) “PYa.”
Chambered in 9x19mm Luger, the Grach (Rook) was designed in the 1990s by Vladmir Yarygin and is commonly known as the Pistolet Yarygina or PYa after him. A large framed all-metal pistol with an 18-round mag, it was built as a replacement for legacy Cold War -era designs such as the PM Makarov thought it hasn’t completely replaced them.
And as Larry points out, it has a host of design features “borrowed” from Western combat handguns with a distinct Russian flair.

When your mom asks you to hang out more (VIDEO)
Mother and son get some safe, quality Independence Day bonding in by playing a duet of the Star Spangled Banner together.
After a brief Reveille (First Call) warm up solo by moms on the trumpet, son provides percussion via an interesting suppressed HK USC-like SBR build (and no, its not an LWRC PDW) while dutifully clicking the safety on and off when not on target.
And for those who argue he isn’t providing the proper courtesy during the national anthem, he is part of the band, so there’s that.
Still, long live the Republic.

Glock perfection: G17 vs. Big League Chew (VIDEO)
MattV2099 took his horribly tortured Glock 17 and, after a brief cleaning with a garden hose, sought to gum up the works.
Using scientifical techniques and his Glock field knife to help clear the way when the BLC gets too deep, he smothers the G17s inner workings repeatedly and (spoiler alert) usually gets the first round off.
He then turns to gooping up the entire outside of the gun with $12 worth of chew.

Blasting a block of magnesium (VIDEO)
Matt down on DemolitionRanch was donated a super-sized chunk of solid magnesium, which soon turns out to be more bullet resistant than you would imagine.
Mg is something like the fourth most common element after iron, oxygen and silicon encountered on the planet and is used in die-casting and alloy production as well as in electronics. Of course, it is also flammable and magnesium fire starters are commonly used by hikers and sportsmen far and wide.
Which is why Matt gets excited about how it will react with high velocity ammo up to .50 BMG, although that excitement is somewhat misplaced.

Gunny: ‘I think everybody should be armed’ (VIDEO)
America’s favorite Marine, character actor, polymer gun rep and DI, R. Lee Ermey, had some easy words for the Second Amendment while visiting with Fox and Friends this week.
“Criminals don’t go to the gun shop to buy their guns, okay? Let’s get this straight right now. The criminals get their guns off the street,” said Ermey before taking on gun-free zones.
“If I’m a crook, if I’m a bad guy, where am I going to commit my crime– I’m going to see this sign that says ‘gun-free zone,” he said before moving in for the enchilada we were all waiting for:
“I think everybody should be armed,” he said. “Every normal, logical, level-headed individual should be armed.”
Just don’t hide a jelly donut in your locker.

Houston Police chopper pilot goes for the tackle on fleeing suspect (VIDEO)
An HPD whirlybird driver got really invested in the chase for a suspect on foot Tuesday afternoon and decided to bail out and lend a hand when his partner in the SUV wasn’t getting it done.
Maybe the Texans should scout this guy. What do they have to lose?

Watering wand turned into spear launcher (VIDEO)
Why bother watering the plants when you can turn your home garden hose into a pneumatic spear launcher with a gratifying Bavarian chuckle?
German home-build weapon maker Joerg Sprave took a perfectly good watering wand and hose, a schrader valve, some PVC conduit, teflon tape and a few other odds and ends to craft a compressed air launcher that is handy for skipping out your favorite projectile– in Uncle Joerg’s case an over-barrel arrow.
That he gets penetrating hits on out past 50 feet.
Ho Ho Ho.

Putting a 60-pound ball of duct tape on blast (VIDEO)
Matt down on DemolitionRanch was gifted a solid wad of duct tape spun into a sphere larger than a basket ball and smaller than a beach ball. You know what comes next.
Over 15-inches in diameter, it was sent in by a viewer and is rock solid.
But how bullet resistant is it?

Roll on over and check out a great Remington No. 1 repro (VIDEO)
Hickok45 breaks out a beautiful Pedersoli rolling-block Remington clone in .45-70 Government and lets the steel ring.
Introduced in the 1860s by Remington as the No.1, it was best know as a the “rolling block” and was both a popular hunting and military rifle around the world chambered in everything from .236 Remington to .58 Berdan Long for about 50 years or so.
Out of production by Big Green for a bit, Pedersoli makes almost a dozen models of this classic, such as the one in Hick’s use complete with some 405-grain lead pills.

Ex-Texas cop who threw teen to ground will not be charged (VIDEO)
A former suburban Dallas police officer who resigned after video showed him forcing a bikini-clad 15-year-old girl to the ground will not be charged in the matter.
A Collin County grand jury Thursday decided not to indict former McKinney officer Eric Casebolt, who pushed the girl to the ground following a party last June at a community pool that drew a crowd of teenagers. Officers responded to the pool after neighbors complained about the gathering.

That’s one pretty Yugo SKS (VIDEO)
Mrgunsngear Channel lucked into a surplus Ceremonial Guard Yugoslavian Model 59/66 SKS which are pretty rare, but still shoots like your typical Yugo.
Some 250 were imported and feature a thick black steel finish and chromed parts–including the standard folding bayonet– as well as waxed sights, a thick butt-pad and some curiously well-finished red wood.
Of course it’s a collectible, but as you can see, it can still pop out 7.62x39mm when needed.
